What a miss on this piece ~ i don't know many women my age that wear high, thin heels anymore. I would have loved to have seen real women - in mid fifties for real - and maybe some real sizes - not model type bodies.

Darlene Tripp - Women of *every* size are “real”. 🙄 I’m in my 60s, size 0, don’t diet, or go too crazy with exercise, just try to live a healthy lifestyle. Based on the existence of 3 offspring, there is evidence that I am, in fact, quite real. Women come in all shapes and sizes; they are all “real”, and they should all be represented in fashion, thin, heavier, and everything in-between..

WHO says that women over 50 & 60 can't be stylishly dressed? There are a lot of styles, colors, stripes & floral patterns that women over 50 & 60 can wear without looking ridiculous and boring. The only outfit that made any sense was the all white. It was stylish and elegant. That red dress and velvet pant suit 😖😞. I don't know which one of these two ladies can out talk the other. Would be much more interesting if you showed styles for non-model, non-skinny women... women with mommy tummys, women who aren't skinny... You know - average people, not models or actresses. Not much of this applies in any way to real life women with kids and grandkids...
@altitudeiseverything31635 жыл бұрын
D Moore - Where I live thin and fit IS the norm, even for women like me: 3 kids and in my 60s - size 0 and I assure you, very “real life” - I eat well, get a reasonable amount of exercise, and have never counted calories! Women need to support and empower each other, not body shame them, whether they are heavy, OR thin!
@dmoore85575 жыл бұрын
@@altitudeiseverything3163 I am 64, 5'1"tall and weigh 108 pounds, so not body-shaming anyone. Just feel that this was a very one-sided and biased video. I am both a runner and a lifter... however, I know that this is not the norm for most people I know. Not sure where you live, but I have my doubts that it is truly the norm in your area either - maybe your specific community, but be honest. What do you see when you go out of that area? A bunch of average women or a whole lot of model types? I work hard to be where I am, but do understand that not everyone has the time or energy for this, and would love to see that this show would take the time to include non-skinny, non-tall women as well as those they showed.
@altitudeiseverything31635 жыл бұрын
D Moore - My apologies, I’ve just been body shamed all my life and that type of thing is just getting worse online lately. I would never criticize someone for their weight, but it has always seemed acceptable to criticize very thin women, especially if they are middle age, or beyond: they must be vain, neurotic, compulsive calorie counters, or maybe they have an eating disorder. I do agree with you that all sizes should be represented in fashion articles, shows, catalogs, etc. I also think that there needs to be more variety in ages and even abilities shown. To clarify: thin and fit is indeed the norm where I live, even for women over 60. I live in the most fit & thin city (Boulder) in the most fit & thin state (Colorado) in the U.S. The area is focused on outdoor sports, healthy eating, and wellness. Most of our friends are competitive cyclists, ski racers, triathletes, and runners. Virtually all of the rest are avid recreational rock climbers, hikers, snowshoers, ....you get the idea. People play hard here! My husband is a cyclist and races a road bike, cyclocross, and track; he’s in his 70s. While I enjoy a number of sports, I’m not at that level myself. And, yes, It *is* a different world in most of the rest of the country.
@flowersflowers50705 жыл бұрын
They did put us in a box...all thin women...and not even over 60. It didn't show any women who are heavier...im 5'6 at 114...what about those that are 160...180 ..210lbs? So it takes that everyone is 120lbs. We aren't.
