If I would add another step to the end of this lesson, it would be rushing notes/phrases. I hear many guitarists rush into a phrase. Especially when they wish to put a more shreddy idea as a climax. Often a guitarist forgets about musicality and wishes so much to end with a bang that their transition from melodic to shred could use attention. Great videos Bernth! I always learn lots!

Man I'm loving the videos. I'm a pretty advanced player and still find myself learning things from you. One thing you have, you explain/teach things in a way that it "clicks" with you every time. A lot of guitar teachers or instructors are good but they can't explain things to where they click with you and you have that eureka moment. I would say you have a gift for teaching my friend. Keep up the good work

This is a great breakdown that should definitely help a lot of people out (I'm personally in the process of trying to open my lick ideas wider to stop myself reverting back to the same patterns on autopilot). Thanks for also mixing up the styles and doing something different in all the examples too.

I like to take a very unique approach and begin in a frenzied climax and then fade out in such subtle manner that people are awe struck at just how cleverly I’ve disappointed their initial expectations. I call it my anesthesia method. As though I’m putting you under for surgery. By the time you realize what’s happened, I’m long gone and you have thirty-six stitches in your head. Everything is fuzzy and some people are even crying.

Also , I never see anyone mention this . Rehearsal isn;t just about familiarity with routines but about again economy of movement . the rehearsing is also in many cases about learning the finger positions to faster transfer from one position to another between two chords or collections of notes . You don;t need to always follow the set finger positions . you can change them . Example , normal tuning , going from E5 to B5 , you'd go down a string with all 2 or three fingers . Why ? Because you're told to . rehearsing it and properly apply economy of movement and the fact you have four fingers , on E5 it would be finger 2 on the second fret of the a string , finger 3 on the second fret of the d string , then you'd move all 3 fingers down for the B5 . Why would you not do this with rehearsal . For those two power chords with rehearsal . First chord E5 as mentioned . then take the first finger out of the equation for the switch to B5 . Doing that , you already have your second finger on the root note of the b5 Power Chord , the B note on the A string , so just leave your first finger out of thhe equation , with your second finger on the root note and the third finger already near where it needs to be on the d string , you just move that along , then add your fourth finger into the equation . You didn't have to move your hand , you just had to add the movement of one finger . I haven;t seen any lesson I've looked at mention these things . Also , you still have your first finger in place on the E string for any upwards switches , and you're just removing your little finger from the G string ( Yes , bad joke incoming , it's very rarely the little finger that goes in a G string lol ) .
