I like your interpretation of the lyrics. The poet Pete Brown said that this was inspired by an appartment he lived in, near a train station, with white rooms. He stayed there for some time, nearly locking himself in, trying to give up alcohol and drugs.

Psychedelic rock and blues rock are the pinnacle of rock. Your growing appreciation leads me to belief your spirit must have been around, somehow, in the late 60’s.

Thanks I was just trying to remember if they were a supergroup but I don’t remember from which bands. I haven’t heard this in decades and I marvel at how evident it is: impeccable talented experienced musicians knew EXACTLY what they were doing at every moment ✊🏽

One of Rock's early supergroups. Apparently this song uses a lot of cryptic metaphors to diacuss depression. The building intensity of Clapton's guitar gets me every time. If you haven't reacted to the song "Sunshine of Your Love," you must!

Bruce is usually the third guy mentioned from this group, but he was just as amazing as the others. His vocals, lyrics and obviously his bass were irreplaceable. There's no Cream without Jack Bruce, that's for sure.

I still have the original 45 rpm single on Atco records. It was the version they played on Top 40 radio and had the entire third verse cut out. It's amazing the way they butchered records back then to fit radio formats.

JM always an impeccable music react! Yardbirds, Cream, D and D, solo, stand ins, etc....what can we mere set of ears say about Clap!!?? Btw, JM, Clap put out a fantastic Christmas album a few years back. Get it for yourself in the days ahead...It is perfectly different just like Eric and makes me remember Beck too. Good health and holidays ahead to all great JMB fans!

So you like psychedelic songs. 8 Miles High by The Byrds And Iron Butterfly's most psychedelic song Butterfly Bleu The 23 min live version. In that you'll hear them use a talkbox which predates Peter Frampton. It was a performance on live television where they went commercial free to get the whole song in without interruption. 🤠🐂
