I bought our 05’ LS 430, 72,000 miles in 2019 $11,000 for our teen son as his first car, knowing he’d be in a solid car with enough power to learn how to drive and handle the v8. I drive it now as my full time car, and won’t ever get rid of it. It is the best car!!! It was such a find. Garage kept, couple vacationed months out of the year, no one had ever sat in the rear seats. Totally beautiful. Blue with cream interior.

What a beauty I know that feeling well. I picked up a ‘89 300E with 18000 miles in 2000 - the previous owner an 85 year old lady received it new for her 75th birthday. Now 212000 miles and still running like a Swiss Watch. Gets out every week. Blue on cream in same condition is very definitely a life-timer, one to pass on eventually to the very most grounded grandkid. Enjoy. Australia

I've never seen anyone else take the time and care to do the repairs that you have done to the LS430. I sure hope the car lasts another 625,000 miles. Thank you to Mrs. TCCN for her comment. It's easy to question a vehicle owner when that owner decides to take it to the level that this LS430 has been brought up to. The saying, "Take good care of your vehicle and it will take care of you" doesn't seem to be enough of a saying for this vehicle. The care goes way beyond that saying in a very good way!

😂😂😂 I love your sentence : “This irrelevant piece, that means nothing” - it is acctually Toyota & Lexus invention to REDUCE the Cx coefficient (as desired) on the first LS 400 below 0.3! So it was and still is VERY important. And all the car manufacturers adopted it into their all cars. And now you and your LS430 have the brand new pieces ;-) Congrats! As always, Mr. Ahmed, beautiful work!!! Anyway, dear Mr. CCN, you made me again INCREDIBLY happy with your work on 600k mile Lexus LS 430. Many thanks ;-)!!! I've put bulbs in dashes of many cars I've owned, and it's always a fidelly job. But when you get it done and something lights up that hasn't for a long time because you kept putting it off, it is very satisfying. The easiest one to do was my 83 505 Peugeot. It had one bulb in a little holder under the dash, and then fiber optic cabels ran to all the buttons and dials. That did not cover the binnacle, but that just slipped straight out over the wheel and unplugged.😊

Watching this, after picking up today my 2011 Corolla with 2.0 engine (Asia) from the dealer, and I had all suspension parts replaced with OEM. Motor mounts (followed CCN's advice to just replace all 4), front struts + mounts, control arms + ball joints, rear shocks, stabilizer links and sway bar bushings. I wish I had done it sooner as I was starting to dread driving it on roads with not so good parts (daily route), but oh boy, the car is like new, feels like gliding over the roads now. Came around 2 grand total, but every cent well spent. The car is virtually rust-free, engine is great (except for occassional VVTI rattle), transmission is great, 70k miles. New cars are too expensive these days, I reckon, I'm keeping this one until end of time.

Having recently replaced front and rear brake pads and rotors on my 99 ES300 with Toyota original the difference in noise, dust and feel is night and day. The rotors were original to the car and the pads had been replaced countless times with cheap ones from the auto parts store. I did the fronts first and when I did I cleaned all 4 wheels of all brake dust. In the couple of weeks for me to get the parts for the rear the difference in the amount and quality of dust which built up was unbelievable. The front wheels had a light tan haze and the rear had a thick black layer. The pads are clearly akebono pads as it says "AK" on them. I had bought the Akebono ProAct before I went ahead and bought the Toyota OEM and even though they're similar they're different. The way the groove is cut in them is at a different angle.

here, here! I got a 2001 Echo in '08 and drove it in 2021 with 230,000 miles. It had two dead cylinders, and probably always did since I bought it, as I did not know about the cylinder cameras, which probably would have revealed scored cylinders. I miss the car a lot, as the body and interior were just perfect. (LA car, always garaged by me) But I took the $3k that the engine replacement would cost, the $1500 that the state of Ca. gave me to retire a wreck, and some Covid payments to cough up $6k to buy, from a Toyota dealer, a 1 owner 2007 Corolla with 107k miles. So far in 3.4 years I have only needed 6 oil changes and a transmission oil change!. No problems whatsoever, Toyota reliability. But the little Echo actually rode a lot better. The Corolla is much better than the Echo on long road trips, which we do a few times a year.

After working on a few jet engines with extremely tight working areas and magnesium fasters, I had to get crafty with holding a bolt in the end of a socket on the mother of all extensions without dropping it into a non-clearance area and became known to use a low bonding strength superglue on one wall of the socket to a bolt flat. Or if I had a spot where I could get a 'grabby tool' pincher if I goofed my insertion, a little thumb tack putty smushed into the socket works like a treat!

I am hoping that my 2014 GS350 AWD lasts as long. It only has 32000 miles on it and I maintain it very well. It is garaged when not on the road and I try not to drive it when there is salt on the road in winter which is not easy in SE Wisconsin. Your car is beautiful!

I have a 2002 LS Ultra Luxury that I have parked for a year now. I don't know what to do with her. I loved this car as she had all the bells and whistles and very reliable and gave me great service. Mileage is a little under 200,000. After seeing this video, I wonder if I can get someone to resurrect her. The engine is immaculate, the tranny not so much but still driveable. A mechanic suggested replacing the tranny filter but I decided not to. Secondly, one of the struts is shot but once you start the car it bounces right back. Go figure!!

With those miles, surprised you didn't replace everything - spring, strut and top hat in one go... I just got a 2000 with a couple hundred k on it, and I replaced both front strut assemblies - aftermarket ones were cheap and much faster to swap out. I did the brakes too but stymied that they don't seem to want to bleed completely.
