Have you talked about your compressor setup and what kind of air dryer you're running?

Good job Sir. Come on down to Texas. I have my 66 mustang that needs a little paint TLC.

I love how the Mustang is coming along! What is your air compressor set up that you are using for your paint guns?
@VanHoutenBuilds2 ай бұрын
Thanks!I have the Fortress 27 Gal air compressor from Harbor Freight. I just waited to buy until it went on sale. It is enough to paint with, but you have to take your time. The only issue is that it constantly runs to keep up, which causes a lot of condensation in the line and so by the end of the job I've noticed I get moisture out of the sprayer, so you have to put on new water separators frequently

@@VanHoutenBuilds That sounds like a pretty decent size but it's a bummer it struggles to keep up. I've heard the moisture build up is a serious pain. Thanks!

@@jeremygarriga9623 Yeah I just bought a LPLV spray gun, so hopefully that will help since I'll be able to operate at a lower pressure.

Looking good. Are the Eastwood sanding blocks not working anymore with the hose? I bought same setup but haven't used yet. Also looking at the speedokote as well. I have 1.4 nozzle so hoping it's good . Happy to see you back .
@VanHoutenBuilds2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! They do keep the dust down, but the nozzle where the hose attaches constantly starts to pop off when sanding and the block also sticks and drags to the surface b/c of the suction. If you turn the suction down then the block won't really pick up any dust. So it was easier just to put the vacuum hose next to the block while sanding.

I did a Google search for re-profiling guitar necks and you turned up. Are you still building/modding/repairing guitars? It seems from your channel that you're mostly involved with cars.
@VanHoutenBuilds2 ай бұрын
I've kind of taken a break from guitar building and restoration for a bit, but I'll go back to them. Been wanting to try the car restoration thing for a while. Still heavily involved in the guitar world though!

Just curious what size compressor you have? I’ve been looking to paint my truck, but have been hesitant due to compressor size, or lack there of.
