Used to live in Las Cruces. The Organ Mountains could get very windy through the pass from the East. Traveled through highway 70 many times to Alamagordo. I hope you get to visit White Sands National Monument and also enjoy the great Mexican food. We experienced ballooning and became part of the chase crew. Lots of memories.

Let's not forget that the 3D printer also provides a way for you to make more content: like a video series of 3D printing repairs.. on the road! You know, I bet there's a bunch of vanlifers out there with specific needs.. It'd be cool to come up with solutions for your fellow traveler. Great video btw :)

Wow. What a well-thought-out suite of tools you've managed to tuck away!! I saw a KZbin once where the couple equipped their rig with a steel "lock box" for expensive camera and computer equipment to (hopefully) minimize a horrible experience. Maybe worth a thought since you are not finished with the build yet. Safe travels around this amazing continent!

I love the van, but I'll stick with my homemade slide-in camper. It gives me two vehicles in one. A simple unload and I've got a pickup. I sure do like your not having to get out of the vehicle to get into the living quarters. Hello again, Ontario Morley from Nova scotia Morley. 😃

I might have missed it, but if you don't have it already Milliput putty resin is great for fixing literally everything. Plumbers pipes, anything plastic, it sets when wet, it bonds practically any two things together, fills small holes, you can even use it like clay to create a replacement component part, it sets rock solid, handles heat well too.
@MorleyKert

@@MorleyKert I would say milliput has a higher durability but it’s hard to beat the cure time of JB Weld
@CaptainLaika
@CaptainLaika Жыл бұрын
@@MorleyKert JB Heatweld is far better for items that get quite hot, it can stand much higher temperatures than Milliput. Which one you'd want to use depends on use, Milliput doesn't shrink as much. Milliput is also completely fine touching things that come into contact with food and water. JB are wishy washy on whether or not they're always food safe. They're usually rated toxic until fully cured, which they say needs to be at least 24 hours.

Your tool picks seem well curated. And like you said, good news is you have a van, so if you need something else you can just drive to any shop and borrow/rent tools!! Also, I thought those were the Las Cruses mountains, but you didnt mention it and I was sad. At the end you did and it made me happy for recognizing them lol!!

if youre ever on the lookout to replace your driver, check out the milwaukee 12v fuel installation driver. Bit pricy but it's so incredible light and clips to the belt, you don't even feel the thing. the set comes with extra chucks which allow 90 degree, offset and a drill chuck to be attached. If you wanna go even crazier, check out the AEG Omni Pro. 7 head multitool that does reciprocating saw, jigsaw, multitool, angle driver, dremel, ratchet and angle drill all on battery. Might be worth it for the van!

@jeremyspecce
@jeremyspecce Жыл бұрын
On that note, standard RV equipment is a propane detector. Some of them I think are also propane / CO detectors. Must have. Also, any space that holds propane should be ventilated at the bottom. Propane is heavier than air and will gather in low spaces, being that the battery system is at the same level, it would be very wise to vent the propane compartment to the outside.
@MorleyKert

I just feel like the title is off. This wasn't so much about actual "survival" gear as it was about maintenance / upgrade tools for the van and creating conveniences / extra space. I'm probably saying this wrong. First time viewer. When I think of "69 Tools for The End of The World" .. oscillating mult-tools, pocket hole jigs, and countersink bit sets (etc) aren't a part of my equation.

well a good toy for people who can protect it from marauders... its the end of the world! Better accept it than try to survive it... people will get far more merits than those who accepts it supposing the end of the world will happen on their lifetime. If people understand how the world works? They wont prepare for the world to end... since the world is way more than what people like to suppose what it is. its a commercial in diy business... and the end of the world theme is already a strong theme to sell all most anything
