my dad abandoned me when i was around 12 years old, maybe younger… one of my memories with him was playing chess against him, time and time again, he had a completely glass set and he would beat me every time, one of the most rewarding memories of my life was finally check mating him out of sheer luck.

Happy to see the opening theory videos making a comeback. Would be delighted to see more opening systems get the two-video treatment you've done a few times in the past-one video on the main line, a second on interesting variations and traps.

I would probably have included the Fried Liver Attack and made it a top 8, but that's not a bad list either. The Fried Liver is a very strong beginner opening but do not, ever, even think about using it if you're above 1200.

I tried the fishing pole trap many times from one of your earlier videos, but nobody falls for that anymore at my level and you just end up in a worse position. Later I learned that playing normal against the Ruy Lopez is tricky enough with all the different ways they may think they can capture de pawn on e5
@ASMRChess2 ай бұрын
@@kamikazexd11 when you get to a certain level most of this won’t work anymore - but particularly the fishing pole pattern is useful in many positions.
