The Kenguru is basically an updated version of the British 1970’s Elswick Envoy, which also had a single large rear door so the wheelchair user could just scoot straight in. And the Envoy was itself based on the William Towns-designed Minissima, a Mini replacement concept which never saw production, being judged ‘too advanced’ by British Leyland.

I'm not sure that disabled one is the only car made for disabked oeople - I remember there was a Reliant Robin-ish looking thing called Invacar and it was made especially for invalids and they were all the same light blueish colour.

Not really, Crosley was an american subcompact car maker from the 30s-50s, but their cars were bigger than most cars in this video. All crosleys had sub 1 litre engines, weighed no more than 1400 lb/635 kg, and most shared an 80 in/203 cm wheelbase chassis design. They were innovative too, first to make a mass produced, affordable overhead cam engine in 1946, and they were the first american automaker to build a car with disc brakes on all 4 wheels.

Because let's be honest they're a big bag of badgercock. It had barely any range, took ages to charge, acceleration and speed heavily depended on what you had for breakfast (even pottering around town it was an issue). Also because it was a teeny lump of plastic, it meant the crumple zones were your knees To be fair to it, it came out before Ev's were mainstream like they are today which meant they were seen in the same virtue signalling eco-warrior catagory as the Toyota Prius. (I am a brit btw, hence the rant slagging it off at the beginning 😂😂)

Bubble car came from the the German aircraft companies that made 3 wheelers in late 50s early 60s using the cockpits from aircraft front seat for driving rear seat for passengers the bubble was a Perspex lid over the driver similar to a fighter plane . Wasn't the smallest ever, but yeah, the original Smart City Coupe was the smallest safe car.
