Fallout Ghouls are individuals that have experienced a terrible metamorphosis as a result of being exposed to high levels of radiation for an extended period of time. A ghoul, distinct from a zombie, refers to a post-human entity that has undergone significant radiation absorption, either gradually or due to nuclear explosions, particularly in the context of gaming. Although they may resemble zombies, their flesh is not decayed but rather has a charred appearance. They are distinct from zombies, similar to the cordyceps-infected creatures in the "Last of Us" franchise. Ghouls are a result of individuals on the surface being exposed to an optimal level of radiation through the consumption of irradiated water or other substances. While some individuals pursue this exposure in hopes of achieving immortality, others, such as Thaddeus, a squire of the Brotherhood of Steel, became ghouls by consuming a specific radiation drug obtained from a salesman. Although these ghouls are eternal, they are unable to reproduce and experience cognitive decline. However, they possess remarkably prolonged lifespans and are resistant to, and occasionally even benefit from, ambient radiation and nuclear contamination. In this video, we will outline the seven distinct stages of a Ghoul in the Fallout franchise.
