@Andrew Lin - the video game I was thinking of during the premiere was "9 Monkeys of Shaolin" on XBOX ($20 or $2 w/Game pass currently). The combat style and terrain remind me of this hike and your Hong Kong trip and your training. It bills itself as having "Action-packed battles, user friendly controls and an incredible atmosphere of great kung-fu movies of the 70s" Also should be available on PlayStation 4(5?), Windows PC, Xbox and Switch.

Loved the whole series! The way it was filmed and edited was very aesthetically appealing, and Andrew's anecdotes about the mushrooms were fascinating. The music that you heard at 46:08 is called the 5pm chime. It was most likely a Japanese children's folk song that was on. It's played through the emergency broadcast speakers in towns to remind children that it's time to go home before it gets dark, and it also acts as a safety check that the speakers are working properly.

@@Mo0on_Child Well seriously just stuff a backpack with a couple weights and go walk for an hour. Treadmill isn't going to prepare you for jack. Flat terrain doesn't prepare you for much either.
@all-to-Him-I-owe100
@all-to-Him-I-owe100 Ай бұрын
Walking on a treadmill can help you prepare! I like doing this too in the winter or if I get off work late. Being physical is being physical and something is always better than nothing. You can put it on an incline, set the pace on fast, you can “dead-mill” backwards, you can do “slides” or all of the above. Sure getting outside is best…but working out is still working out. I know this to be true bc I like to do both. But in winter sometimes it’s just indoor cross training, and I am telling you - some of the hikes I have done coming out of winter are no joke, almost more climbs. Flatiron, Az - tricky, hard and scary if you are afraid of heights - and I did it. Ptarmigan tunnel in Glacier national park - great challenging hike! Bottom line is get it! Treadmill, bike, hike - just do it! But then again I eat carrots too and I have been told they are just full of sugar so…😂
@Mo0on_Child
@Mo0on_Child Ай бұрын
@@all-to-Him-I-owe100 Yeah I agree! I really like setting the incline all the way whenever they talk about a big hill.

Yay! New adventure video! 🤗 Though this one looked properly exhausting 🥵 But I love the contrasts you see during this trail, from wilderness to vending machines in the middle of nowhere to ancient shrines. It is really beautiful and interesting. If you guys ever want to experience brutal but extremely beautiful nature trails with unique views and landscapes, come visit us in Norway sometime! 🫎 I don’t think you’ll sweat as much as in Japan but you may get rained or even snowed on 😝And in a foggy morning in a Norwegian forest you will definitely find out where the troll legends come from 🧌

Bravo guys! What a climax to this spectacular adventure on the Kumano Kodo. I'm so glad I watched it in 4K - the spiritual connection in each scene was palpable. The cinematography capturing the forest bathing was sublime; bathing in your own sweat made the well-deserved onsen bathing a just reward. The dinner at the inn looked like perfection! The new t-shirt designs are very cool and I hope Andrew hasn't suffered any ongoing injury to his coccxyc. Next hike Shikoku pilgrimage?

This is the first time coming across your channel, but from the intro, to the dialogue, and the way it’s filmed even reminds me so so much of the wonder that I had as a kid watching PBS and all the naturalists that made their own educational and adventuring shows on there. Those shows still exist in some capacity, but It’s really cool knowing that KZbin kind of makes it possible for the next generation to find stuff like this and get inspired to explore the world around them. I said, their next trip is going to be to like, the Salt Flats and they'll ride in air-conditioned golf carts, with huge tubs of lemonade and iced tea. 😂 What scenery! You nailed it when you said you could imagine seeing a dragon flying over the misty hills and mountains. It totally looked like a scene from a fantasy genre videogame or movie. So cool!
