I do wonder what James would be like if he came shredded. He has always been a bit on the heavier side in Houston and it was okay because he needed power and the physicality to drive to the rim continuously and absorb contact. Now that he has lost a step I wonder if he can make it up by losing a bit of weight.

I hate to say this because I really enjoyed watching DP play in the regular season, but we have to cut him out of the rotation. Maxi should be the starter with Chriss and Bertans as the backup centers.

@@kzeegamer-6115 Only reason DP’s starting is to eat up minutes because Mavs know having Maxi out there 25-30 minutes plus would really wear him out and he’s already injury prone to begin with. Also just the fact that DP always hustles and gives 110% and Kidd loves that about him.

Sorry but Harden as a basketball player has way too little skill... his skill was step back 3's, flopping all day and driving to the basket without defense because the defenders knew he was gonna flop and get free throws... I do feel like some of James's performance is because of the hamstring. The lack of explosion, agility, lift, etc from a player who was already relatively lesser in those areas seems to be indicative of that. I said it before the series started. For the Mavs to be able to win, Luka was going to need consistent support from Brunson, Dinwiddie and kleber. As for the suns, I always said their best bet to win would be to lock down everyone and force Luka to do it all himself, effectively exhausting him and cause him to fade late in games. Which is exactly what happened in game 2.

As an NBA fan I see media and fans react so suddenly to things and never call back to the earlier parts of a season which really kind of define a players current situation in a playoffs. Harden got fat and out of shape to get to Philly and was dealing with a Hammy. I doubt Harden will look this way next season. Get won't be dropping no 35 but I can see Harden at 25 and 8-12 assists a game. Embiid is otherworldly by the way. How does one mans presence change and alter so much for both his and the opposing team? Mans is special.

A little confused, why do you keep saying "at least five"? Isn't it 6 games when 2-2 in the series?

It will be tougher to expect less from Harden than it was from Melo. We had a year without Melo after the year in OKC and that kinda helped us resetting expectations.

The Heat were destroying the 76ers inside AND Philly was also shooting like trash (17% and 22% or something terrible) Embiids presence takes out Bam as well as opens up the floor for Harden and Maxey more. That Harden and Embiid PnR was something the Heat haven't seen yet and took Lowry completely outta the game because Bam switching onto Harden puts Lowry onto Embiid. Spoelstra hasn't played Duncan Robinson all series for being a defensive liability and having more depth but looks like Lowry might need to be taking out too... but then why won't Embiid having Herro or Oladipo etc on him be the same thing? Def a new series

Sixer fan here: I look at the trade as seth, Drummond, and two picks because Ben wasn't playing and wasn't going to play. So if we get 20ish/10+assists from him for three more years, I'm cool with paying him for 5 years. The last two years will just have to be the cost of having/trading for him

The mavs played good defense inside but not in the perimeter, Suns shot 46% from 3 and mavs offense was not good, 44% FG and 33% from 3. The defense won the game. So this is not a the perfect game from the mavs. Suns shot better, but shot less, because the mavs defense was forcing turnovers.

hoping the mavs get some confidence from winning and start shooting better, that'll be the key to winning the series along with the defense they showed

philly without harden on the floor last night had basically no offense, he is one of the best floor generals in the league rn and he just needs to make the offense flow, philly doesnt need harden to drop a 40 piece mcnugget with bbq sauce.

Harden is playing great. He’s not surrounded by catch & shoot players like he was in Houston. The players he’s surrounded by in Philly need to score to be effective. Tobias & Maxey are not big contributors unless they are scoring…. So on this team Hardens main role is to manipulate the floor spacing provided by the attention on him & Embiid allowing the others to catch the ball with a huge advantage. This is the way Philly needs to play to win. Everyone complained about Westbrook’s inability to adjust to the needs of the Lakers & now everyone is complaining because Harden has adjusted to the needs of the Sixer. Also of note is the Harden rule changes went into effect this year.

I think one of the largest contributors to James hardens regression is the change when it came to foul baiting, I feel like he’s being much less aggressive knowing he won’t be able to draw a foul out of every play if he doesn’t score

Philly needed to play Embiid because they was a big possibility they were going to go down 0-3 without him that game.

Harden has played significantly better after rest so you have to think that's connected to an injury. Looking forward to seeing what they can do when he's healthy and when they've had more time.

Tbh I don’t think the length was the issue for Brunson I think it was the fact he got in foul trouble early in the first 2 games
