The 7th Saga - Esuna Apprentice Battles at Lv80

This is the last obtainable level in the game (don't let the EXP fool you otherwise), so these are the final battles against the appretinces at Lv80. There's no LUX because he is my partner (or at least is after these), and no Kamil because I fought him for the Star Rune.
So this is pretty much it.

Also Heal 3. Too bad the creators of the didn't make the AI more realistic. The battle between a Level 80 Esuna vs. Valsu would be more epic.

One key is NOT to recruit a partner until you are 80, this makes it go much faster and the partner will be superior. The best way to get EXP is to fight the S.Brains on the Isle of Beore (that island with Luze on it), as they give the best non-boss EXP in the game. If you want lots more advice, look up KamilDowonna, he is the best 7th Saga player I know.

As Lejes, I had the worst time with Valsu, and I had to beat him to get the Wind Rune. Finally learned a cheap trick - if I let a teammate die a certain way, I could start the battle with Valsu and then resurrect my fallen comrade. Even 2v1 he had an incredible edge and it took several tries.

At lower levels, yes, her Magic is lethal. However, at this point in the game, everyone's magic strength is the same (255), so it's best to use physical attacks.

Level manipulation. I would just keep reseting until I get a level-up I was happy with (yes, it's very time consuming, but it pays off). The same would apply to the seeds you get in the game.

Damn that hit from Valsu,the CPU is way too obscenely overpowered in the western release of this game...thank god for the Elnard balance patch. Also,the boss/apprentice battle ost is the best.

No, it really is impossible to get to level 82. 81 is what is rare, and only your apprentices can be that. You cannot reach level 81 yourself, despite what the EXP says.

HOly cow lvl 80? I think I finished the game arround lvl 30. I doub that +30 speed doesn't even matter on this level haha.

Speed and Magic stats are capped at 255, so adding an additional 30 speed can mean the difference between winning and losing.

True, although I never understood why they did not just let him use a BPower or Power spell (since everyone gets Heal2) instead of just trying to half your Guard. Anyone with Heal3 without a MP recovery would just have to be whittled down. Unless you catch a bunch of misses on attacks at you, that could be a problem, as they could run you out first. Oh, and I feel dumb about the Magic and Speed thing. I learned that one years ago. Heh. That said, well done on the run. Esuna kicks tail.

I doubt you could beat LUX. He is too powerful at that level.

I remember to read somewhere, that you CAN reach level 81 by using ActionReplay/Gameshark, and after that you can find friend with level 82... but maybe I'm wrong... and besides, what would it help, all the stat increases are coded to fit every character, so only few points wont do much...

Yes I am aware of this. That is why I used the term 'obtainable', becuase even though there is an 81, you yourself cannot obtain it. But the difference between a level 80 and an 81 is massive.

Actaully, Valsu and Esuna would still out-edge him. They can double their power, and 900+ beats mid 500s. At 80, everyone has the same magic and speed, so that goes out the window. And anyone that could use Heal 3 would be very difficult to beat overall. Having Elixir would make it impossible.

What's bad is if Lejes did not have that crap AI, he might be one of the most dangerous apprentices to fight, because his attack and magic levels would both be incredibly high, and he is pretty quick. Thank the high heavens they do not let Valsu use ELIXIR. He could easily be unbeatable.

I had to mention, your rivals will be: 1. Your level 2. One less than your level 3. One more than your level So, if someone joins you at level 80, there is a chance they will be level 81. This is the only honest way to get level 81.

Lejes is a chump to anyone with defense up. Impossible to lose if you have star rune.

I recruited olvan to access the dungeon only he can, after that I have to remember to let him die while I grind levels with Esuna. I forgot Companions steal XP. 😂

If they hadn't nerfed the player-character's stat growths in the localization, the difference between Player vs Apprentices wouldn't be so insane at later levels >:(

I didn't doubt for a second that someone that can beat rivals at level 80 wouldn't know how to get level 81 allies. But not every KZbinr even knows that your opponents all have over 250 points added to every stat. Anyway, I assume that's why you waited to get Lux until you were level 80. Good work winning all those fights! It took me ten tries to beat level 29 Olvan for the sky rune. He kept killing Kamil with fire 2.
