Personally Six of Crows is really good (like it was one of my favs of 2023) but it makes so much more sense if you read the Shadow and Bone trilogy

You have more willpower than I do for not reading spice I hate when authors have it but if they do I just skim/skip it (it helps to have friends who also read it). I did read Shatter Me (the entire series) and for the smutty parts they are fade to black. Also a book I think you will enjoy is the False Prince. It’s written by a Christian, and it’s a middle grade medieval fantasy that I loved!

Shatter me and the rest of the series is really well done. Personally, as someone who read all of the books and novellas I want to say there isn't much of the spice. The last novella that wrapped up the whole series was the one with most of the spice even then it's only like one or two chapters, I feel like Mafi just creates tension mainly. I just noticed that whenever a scene like that shows up Taherah Mafi always writes it very beautifully and never addresses the words very explicitly. The whole series is seriously really good like the spice I would rate like 1. Maybe even a 0.5 compared to many other books.

As for the shatter me series spice...I honestly don't think it's that *spicy* it doesn't rly go into detail and, like you said, it's fast paced so it's easy to just skip the paragraph and then you don't have to read it. You should totally read the series tho ITS SO GOOD!!!
