Not entirely nesscesary to get one of these. You can customize lots of different local fwd hatches to be similarly fun, in my opinion. I have fun with my 05' manual Aveo. Still need to do more to it though, exhaust sounds terrible super stealth. Gets great mileage though often 36mpg with some combined city hwy.

Ah, the good old Suzuki Swift (as i know them in the U.K), I believe this may have been competition to the Daihatsu charade gtti "the world's most powerful production 1.0-litre" at the time, for a long time, which also a three cylinder turbo. I always thought these were ultra cool. Both are pretty much extinct now here.

I've got it's younger cousin, a 94 Swift Gt. Scary at interstate speeds due to the lack of antilock and super short wheelbase, but loads of fun on any twisty back road. If I were a better mechanic I'd figure out a way to fit the Samurai awd system to it, slap a tiny turbo on it for some much needed extra kick (about 1750 lbs with 100hp, another 30-40 would really make it fun) and shove the engine in the hatch. I think the chassis just due to it's ridiculously low weight is deserving of more power. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. It's just way too rare and different.

Great car. I own 4 of these right now, but it's called the Swift here in Germany . But with the 4 cylinder engine. Makes about 68hp without a turbo. 2 of them have the 3 Speed Automatic, but it's still pretty quick. I also have the GS Version, which was the "cheaper" sport version below the GTi (101hp). It makes about 72hp with the 1.3L 4 cylinder engine and a different carburetor. Bring it back on the road will be my winter project. I also will make some project videos about it.
