Did you try Sabar Menanti down the road from there..? I prefer that. The food is more traditional than here, as they still cook it themselves.. Whereas Rumah Makan Minang already relinquish the cooking to hired help 🙃 The owners of RMM and Sabar Menanti are siblings.. the older sister owns Sabar Menanti. I prefer that 🙂 Uda saya dulu urang Minang jugak suka. Haha I cannot speak Minang, sorry..

im constantly amazed how sg presented their brief adopted heritage as their own in an elegant manner. in indonesia, most coverage of long-established eatery shows dirty rundown restaurants or in some dingy little corner. it doesnt spell prosperity or enthusiasm for the products&process, very hard to rile up the interest of younger generations to continue. in contrast the padang resto featured here looks neat, hygienic, hip and full of prospects.

@but why laughable. Rendang probably. Whenever food is compared, I went to all the “best” chicken rice stores in Malaysia be it Penang, Malaka, or nasi lemak it’s all meh meh honestly. Even char kway teow that are touted as the best top 3 in Malaysia I ate before its meh meh. Heck even power nasi lemak or Chong Pang nasi lemak is better. Tian tian Hainanese chicken rice also better than what I ate before as top 3-5 in Malaysia. I went to those from the blogs but realised those may not be accurate and I went along with my malaka friends. It’s honestly meh meh. I went deep even into the villages of malaka but the Lok Lok is good in village and KL noodles. Surprisingly KL noodles is better I. Malaka Lol. Taste is subjective, you grown up with malaysian food that is the best for you. What is best to us is shit to you vice versa. There’s always a reason why Singapore always ranked top in food. Perhaps step out of your bubble and know that taste is subjective.

I ever went to this place before..One plate of rice with rendang and sambal goreng cost $10. The taste of rendang just average only and the tahu beancurd from sambal goreng is very hard like just take out fr freezer. Expensive but no quality also no use. Other place like Pondok Upeh rendang also taste quite gd with cheaper price than Rumah Minang.
