Back in the day...the night I turned 21, I was hired to be a bouncer for a nightclub in my home town. It was a pretty large club, probably with a seating capacity of 200-300. After I'd been there about a year or so...we were drawing a lot of familiar faces, with local bands always performing, but the crowd just never seemed to get any bigger. Then one night, the owner a millionaire) announced he we going to start hiring nationally known bands. The first band he hired, was The Ides of March. I couldn't have been happier. Vehicle was one of my favorite songs at the time, and this was going to be my first taste of seeing a nationally known band perform. The Ides were just GREAT !!! I was enjoying every minute of it. During one of their breaks, one of their guys...might have been Jim...came up to me, and asked me if I'd like to go on tour with the band. I asked him to let me think about it...I just got home from Nam, and I really didn't feel like traveling for a while, so I turned him down. To this day, I've often wondered, what it would be like to be a roadie for The Ides of March, hell, I might have ended up with Survivor !! (BG)

I just bought/got a mint copy of Survivor's self-titled debut LP a week ago. Dave Bickler has an incredible voice. So did Jimi Jamison years later. I really like the band and getting that debut album was the final LP I needed to have all of their albums. Broken Promises, off of Eye of the Tiger, is one of my favorite songs! Did Dave Bickler just do some work with Mark Farner? I could have sworn I saw something about this on a KZbin channel and interview where Mark said that. I can't remember if it was here or not? I just got the new Mark Farner LP in today but I didn't see Dave credited on it. I'm legally blind and I need to look at it closer again with my magnification. But I thought I would ask since I figured you probably know the answer? Thanks for the interview! Brian in Fort Worth, 🎶

I was disappointed 😞 no clips of Rocky 3 were in the music video. But, I my thrill for the video overcomes the disappointment: filmed in my hometown San Francisco 🌉. Filmed near the strip joints on Broadway and Columbus. Not in the music video.. Across the street, I used to play ▶️ video games 🎮 at the arcade. On that side of Columbus Avenue, City Lights Bookstore 📖 is there. Bob Dylan, the Beatniks hung out there in the 1960s. Fun 😊 times in the 1980s.

I miss Real Men of Genius radio commercials. Those were brilliantly done.
