In 50 + years of dry hay baling very rarely has the hay been dry enough to follow the rake with a baler. In NCWI When the hay is that dry baling is fun!!

Ryan, I am always impressed with your video and editing skills. You use enough narration, music, sound, and enough timelapse to keep the content interesting. I also love how your movement of the camera to get unique camera angles. And the content is 'real' showing the day to day life of the farm. I won't 'Join' the content on YT due to the large percentage Google keeps. But would join on Patreon, or similar service. And I have bought several of your shirts which I wear all the time.

I have considered a move to Patreon, as I do agree that them taking almost half of the donations is too much!

After watching your trip to Oshkosh, I was thinking you should also get a trailer dolly. That way you could use the 8235R to pull the flatbed trailer across the field during bale pick up. Saving your semi truck some abuse.
@doliverlipke70563 жыл бұрын
Just have to mount a buddy air supply tank to charge/releases the trailer brakes, unless that 8R has air supply. A lot of big farms around here use that set up.

Never thought I watch to brothers, in their 30's, rolling round bales down a hill just to see how far they'd go. Almost one of those "hold my beer" moments. You two must of been hell on wheels going up.

My parents raise about 300 ewes, and before we invested in a bunch of Panel feeders we use to just unroll a round bale down the our steep hills every other day to feed them. My dad is glad he decided to update his having equipment this year. He bought a peaqua Tedder and just I love with it and also bought a 10 wheel hs rake, last year he bought a 105u farmall tractor, been trying to talk him into buying a round baler

Always enjoy your videos, as I did this one. Very much enjoyed the drone shot. I purchased a cheap one this winter, j [ $ 50 ], but at 72 years old, I am not as confident, as you young people, with all this technology, but just as using my smartphone, with data/internet, which I spend a lot of time using; I guess I will get the hang of it. Since I am still thinking about [ un retiring], & ramping back up my small 20 acres operation, for something to do; I very much appreciate your tips on farming. Thank you 😊 again.
@tractorsold13 жыл бұрын
When your "spare" tractor is your largest tractor, you can generally count on getting the job done. For the non-farmer: using a tractor that is over-powered for the implement can lead to a broken implement. But if you know your equipment well, it's a much lower risk than leaving cut hay lie around.

One way to pick up some of the hay that a large wheel rake missed is by driving the rake back up through and following the water ways. Although bales do seem to get in the way.

Well, another great video from the desk of Kuster Farms Video Productions. Every time that I watch your videos I feel that I'm watching a big-time production from some famous film company. Ryan your filming abilities are second to none. The fine detail that you make sure to include into each and every video that comes from your production office. (Most likely from a desk in some corner of your house.) Keep up the good work and be watchful of large round bales that randomly roll around the farm A fella could get himself into a heap of trouble and a whole hell of a lot of pain. Where is that darn intern of yours? You were mentioned in a video that I was viewing the other day. It was from Sonne Farms and the young man that films the goings-on around their farm, kinda like what you do but different, if you know what I mean. I believe that his name is Cole He was talking about how now that he has his GF riding around with him that he can now call her his intern just like the guy on How Farms Work. Hay, any mention is better than nothing at all, at least you now know that you have a fellow farmer that follows your videos. Getting too long-winded, time to sign off. God Bless all.

Could have gotten a loader tractor instead of that JD skidsteer... would have given another tractor for use, and some more options for work around the farm. Granted you do get a lot of use out of skidders, but having a diverse fleet helps too.

I remember 2 years ago we had smoke from the Australian bush fires, we're in New Zealand about 1400 miles away, we could smell the burnt trees and we had a really orange daylight one day, it was a weird feeling, and really blood red sunsets.

@cassiuspuckett87893 жыл бұрын
I can see where the 82 would be a good option for the hay racke but also can see where it's a little to big for the job. I know, you can never get to big for a job, but you do have short comings with the 82. Oh well, you do what you have to, right??? Nice video Ryan!!!
@tim_g34783 жыл бұрын
After Ryan’s pucker situation the other day hauling manure with the smaller tractor, using the 82 may be overkill for raking but having 8 tires on the slopes in the Valley I’m sure came in handy to reduce his stress
