60 years ago I was doing haying on our New Hampshire dairy farm. Being young at the time I loved the work, especially after coming down from packing a dusty, dirty hayloft in the evening to get a 16 ounce can of Budweiser beer. WOW, that was the best tasting beer ever after that kind of work.

Hi Ryan, It is great watching you and Travis make hay. It has been 55 years since I worked on hay with small bales and hand sacking on trailers! You make it look easy. Ryan, have you and Travis talked about getting bale 2 or 3 bale accumlators for the back of you balers. That way when you drop a bale you can keep them in a line or one general area. Not a JD dealer but I've seen them in use on JD balers and was impressed with on how you can keep them all in one localized area of the field or waterway. Saves pick up time, saves fuel, and keeps traffic on the field localized to a few areas. Having been the kid picking up bales years ago with a just a loader up front and bale fork on the back of a 4320. The 1/4 sect of grass we baled took a couple of days to get back. And driving on hay ground always seemed to stunt it in areas. Just a thought. Great video, truly enjoy watching you and your brothers videos. Bring back good memories.

Some days you make hay and some days you make a mess. Been there done that. Let the spare get tangled with the roll and it took a hour and a chainsaw to get the wrap off that bale. Great drone footage. Y'all take care and stay safe.

when you have an empty net wrap roll or a partial in your case you can hook the bungee cords on the other chain link that's welded right next to where you hook it for a full roll

Wow that green is really pretty. We don't have any in southern Oklahoma right now. We are baling pasture blue stem. Which is super dry and very much of a fire hazard. Burnt out 2 year old baler last month. Burnt all we had cut in the morning right before dinner last week. May go back to sickle mowers which won't be as likely to cause fires when you hit a rock .

Someone's probably already said this...but soft core is useful for things like short, very dry grass or straw. If you start the core at full pressure with these, the core tends to break apart leading to a pulverized mess that the belts slip on. It stops rolling and blocks the machine. You then have to stop, clean it all out and start again (I speak from experience). Soft core reduces the belt pressure for the first couple feet so you get a good foundation to keep the bale turning in tough conditions.

At least with the cab you have little to no dust from the hay to breathe. My older brother has allergies and my dad sent him out to operate the rake anyway as is he was making up his allergy problems. The worst part was trying to stack hay bales in an old wooden barn on a hot day with no ventilation.

We don't back up to dump and we don't move until we close and the door locks, then we move. We use that wrap, and we use other wraps as well. They all work even the cheaper wrap. Price went up 3 times as much as last year. So brother found a guy who bought way to much last year at the low price. This year there is no hay. So he sold it to us at the cheaper price. We cut pasture so we have hay to cut summer winter spring and fall.

I feel you with your fingers I smashed 2 years ago before baling replacing a PTO yoke. This year I did my back trying to get a ewe out of the drinking spot in a stream, I am really not looking forward to changing netwrap.

Great start to the haying season. Best kind of issue, more hay than you thought and where the heck do you store it? Glad you decided to keep the intern around. Hard to find quality labor now. Especially the kind that is starry eyed about her supervisor. I heard a rumor the company is about to make you and the intern equals. Enjoyed the music in the drone footage.
