The A’s should have been known by all as one of the greatest bands of all time. They are by me.

I FINALLY found this jam after years of exhaustive searching. The tears are literally pouring down, remembering my brother, (who OD’d in the late 90s) trying to teach his nerdy sister to dance to this song on our front porch in Lansdale PA. The words and melody have stuck in my head for 40 years, although I didn’t recall it being such a new wave banger. Not even sure if it was on MMR or if my brother had it on vinyl. We had to be fairly young teenagers at the time, too young yet for the club scene, although my bro had his ways and connections. I believe Mike Snyder was supposed to be some kinda distant kin maybe? All I could recall about about the band that they were hometown greats, but for so long all I could come up with was the Hooters, knowing that wasn’t right but this song always MIA, always haunting me. Even the lyrics I could recall came up empty on google because of course. I do wish someone would clean this up since it appears to be the only one in existence online. I’m half a world and 2/3 a lifetime away but I miss you, Bren. Tonight we’ll do the dance forever… do the dance with me!

Love this song. If you grew up in Philadelphia in the early eighties you’d probably remember it. I’ve been thinking about all of these great bands and songs from Philadelphia bands

Man this EP sure did show that this band was getting better as song writers and recording artists. Alas what could have been.... I have it in my garage in a box, and it's probably too warped to ever play again. I sure do wish the Richard Bush would find a way to get it up on Spotify, as I'm sure there are still fans out there who would love to listen to it, and perhaps pass it on to their music loving kids.

Thanks for posting this. Great Philly band that I saw for first time at the Amber Taproom in 81'. Yes, I'm the girl that wore the Valentine sweater at Christmas time, and Richard sang "won't you be my Valentine..." right to me. "God Made Man" was a great tune. WMMR really pulled for you local guys, and I am proud to say that I was there dancing and supporting these bands! Thanks for the great tunes!!!!! I wish you all could all get together for one big reunion of Philly bands.

That drummer you are referring to is perhaps the greatest in the history of Phila. rock music. Mikey Snyder's backbeat propelled the mighty A's to legendary status in the period when local music was at it's most potent. Great years in the Philly music scene. Richard Bush should've been a star. Great frontman, terrific songwriter along with Rocco and the rest of the boys. The pride of this town, my friend.

yhn1inc I remember these guys at one point they were even on TV on some show that maybe came on at 7 p.m. on a Friday night one or two of their songs. yeah back then Philly was really doing good.. even George Thorogood from Delaware would come to those clubs . ..mI remember seeing him sitting there talking to the drummer for either the Hooters or Beru Revue. ... we used to go to 23 East in Ardmore.. BillBeru and the Beru Revue was there and the Hooters.. ... they would be right there on the other side of the bar from where I was sitting 3 feet away having a drink talking to the guy next to me... ALL those local bands were great.. I remember how Bill Beru had told somebody about how f'd over you can get in the industry and he had been reduced to being a chauffeur and picking up other bands and talent at the airport as a driver . the only Philadelphia band I remember being ASSHOLES was the lead chick singing for the Dave's.. ... she had some kind of a God complex. ..we were at either brownies or the 23 East in Ardmore around Christmas.. Christmas Eve something like that and during one of her songs she put her hands out and motioned for EVERYBODY to GET ON THEIR their KNEES..AND KNEEL ! .. only myself and my boyfriend's brother were the only two people in the audience that refused to kneel and she got mad and made a comment on the mic.. I think she called his killjoys something like that and back then I remember thinking would Frank Sinatra or Bruce Springsteen expect Their audience to bow down on their knees ? I think her name was Rebecca something Rebecca Seaton Rebecca Eaton..something like that. all the rest of the memories in those clubs the London Victory Club Etc what excellent memories but gone forever

I first saw guitarist Rick Difonzo play at a wedding reception outside in Langhorne, PA. I think he may have only been 17 at the time, about 1971, not sure?, but he was an incredible talent back then too. Much later, I bought a guitar hand made from his brother-in-law, but I digress - back to the A's!!! - - - P.S. Rich Bush is still kickin' hard with the Peace Creeps !!

WoW did not think I would find this! I grew up in Bensalem. I think I just started high school when this song was released. I still have the lp single. We moved to Devon mid 80's I think I saw them or the Hooters live in some bar in Wayne on kiddie night. Good stuff !!!

The A's had terrible mgmt when they were hot. Later on when Stephen Starr was trying to resurrect the greatness of the A's they both got stonewalled by The largest club owner in Philadelphia who by the way manage the Hooters so this great band got screwed over alot. Listen to DiFonzo on guitar and you now know who Brazilian from the Hooters ripped off
