Just finished watching Cliff go thru here, he too did t cross the tresses. Having said that I just love the tunnel, I don’t have a head for heights either. Thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care

Great video!!! I can't do those big trestles either!! The small little ones across little creeks are a maybe. I get dizzy and my heart pounds in my chest...I just can't!! That tunnel is awesome!!! Conrail destroyed railroading in our area!! They abandoned and closed so much of the railroading in the area.

YAY FOG!!! It is your Fav only because of the bridge and the tunnel on the other side (which nobody seems to go to). The entrance collapse is MORE than what was there when I went out in June of last year. The first 100 feet of the bridge is the easier part... then you go past the tree line and it does become an OMG moment. Absolutely NO SHAME in not doing it. The trick is to keep going back and keep exposing yourself to the environment (baby steps and the key word "exposure" are the trick to finally making it... just like climbing a mountain ridge or learning to ride a bike... repetition, and one more step each time). GREAT VIDEO!

Tell me about it! She handles those things well. She skydived the year before, no fear of heights or fear of falling. Had to pull her away from the edge of a cliff once...she wasn't falling, just my heart couldn't handle her being that close to the edge anymore, lol (Overlook Mountain explore).

Yeah the wood on that trestle don't look to safe. I would be scared myself! Unless it looked more secure. Great Video.

It doesn’t look like cave ins but someone piled all that old concrete & timber to block the opening. The tunnel itself is clean & the other side is ok. What’s on the other side of the trestle? Is there another tunnel? 🚂
@RusticVentures
@RusticVentures Жыл бұрын
That's actually a good though, makes sense! There is another tunnel on the other side that we wanted to check out that day. The wood on the trestle is soft. DD actually walked 1/3rd of the way but she heard the wood crunching. :-(

There are a few abandon railroad tunnels in California. It is ill-advised to go into them because the animals have taken them for their lays such as mountain lions, bears and many other animals. The wolf and the coyoty are subject to these places also. Just a friendly warning.
@RusticVentures

I've come across coyotes, foxes, and bears. But, we have baby-sized animals here on the east coast compared to the west. Duly noted!

Theres no way I would walk across that trussel either. Plus that tunnel dont have long left for this world. Getting in pretty bad shape. I was nervous watching you walk through there.
@RusticVentures
@RusticVentures Жыл бұрын
I didn't expect to see all that peeling inside, it wasn't that bad before. That trestle is probably going to be closed off soon for safety and liability reasons. Thank you for watching, Mike!

@@RusticVentures I never realized that those were lined with wooden timbers behind the concrete. The brickwork is amazing. Such a shame none of this history gets preserved.

Just from what I could see in the video, I'd see no reason to walk the trestle, either. What would be the point? Nothing much to see on the other side and crossing it wouldn't impress anybody.

Yes, "deteriorating". We say it the same way here in Australia too! I don't blame you for not going further along that trestle. I'm not sure I would have been brave enough to risk it. 🚂🚃
