Great video instruction thanks! Used to play a double bass for one year in a rockabilly band then switched to acoustic guitar :) Never was good in playing up right bass. But You r the great up right bass player:)

Thanks Сергей К! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Maybe you should give it another go on the upright bass? If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try cover them in a future video.

Thanks for the video. I'm a noob. I've just received a black 3/4 size. It's only just big enough with the stand fully extended (i'm 6'5"). I've played electric bass guitar in the past (although i'm not an accomplished bassist). I'm finding the left hand technique challenging. I'm fighting my inclination to use that 3rd finger. The right hand technique feels good and makes sense to me (i'm just using one finger at the mo). Great fun! I'm determined to improve!

Great to hear! I hope you’re enjoying the journey. Might be worth getting a full size eventually at your height, my friend is the same height as you and plays a full. The left hand is the biggest challenge I feel, it’s a very different game to the bass guitar! Funnily enough, I have the opposite problem with the 3rd finger when playing bass guitar 🤣

@@BamboozleHQ Oh no!! I need to be able to play both 😂 I shall need to resist the urge to chop off my third finger.... for now! If only it could be detached and reattached at my discretion

Serena what do you use for strings? I use eurosonic white lights on the E , A and nylons on the D G. I feel like the lights are too tight tension wise and might just buy a whole ultra light set.
@BamboozleHQ6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I use Rotosounds for mine. I've tried a few sets and always come back to them. I know a few who use the Ultra Lights and really rate them, and I've played them myself and they seem like a good set. The Rotosounds are great for me, perfect tension (on my 3/4 bass), but they're not steel, so need an acoustic pick up! If you try the Ultra Lights, let me know how you get on!

Nice video...What type of strings do you use? I have Thomastik Superflexible..The distance between strings and fingerboard for my bass is 1.7cm

@@BamboozleHQ Problems in tunning..if I play for example B falt on a string it's perfect first time...but second time it's different...G and D It's ok when I play notes but open strings increase and decrease in tunning. E string it's perfect...I tried to tune m bass with harmonics but the same problem in tunning...my strings are now 5 or 6 years old.

Alin Bate that’s not great, thanks for sharing. I haven’t come across that problem before! I hope it’s better with the new strings!
