I used to just cleanse and go but after learning about the 3 steps skin care routine (cleanse, tone, moisturize) I went to buy a toner and a moisturizer. And being a guy, I'm totally lost in this kind of thing and this video helped A LOT. At least now I know the very basics of the routine and I'm excited to try this out. THANK YOU.

I'm a girl and your tips are awesome. I myself had some pretty horrid breakouts, and then I realized the topical stuff only did so much - I had to tackle the problem "from within" meaning fix my diet. Cut carbs, sugars, and up my veggie intake. 3 days later - breakouts disappeared. HOpe this helps - keep up the great work!

Thank you.....I'm learning so much from you. :)

@thaer12345 Good question, that is a lot to do! Here's what you need to do, split up the peroxide and BHA treatments into morning and night. In the AM I would shave (yes, shave b4 cleanse!)>cleanse>BHA (just a little! More doesn't mean better!>moisturizer with SPF. At night cleanse>peroxide>moisturize without SPF Hope that helps many!

In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

@mostdopeJordan Toners have a couple jobs, the good ones are usually a water based liquid that include ingredients to benefit your skin. Things like green tea (anti-inflammatory), Vitamins A,C,E (anti-oxidants), Herbal extracts, etc These ingredients are important for repairing skin, promoting normal/healthy function, and improving natural defense mechanisms. Toners can also be hydrating and mild cleansers, but its mostly about the effects of the ingredients! :)

and i use also vaseline coco butter deep conditioning with vitamin E. i canot recommand this product enough. i used to stick with diprobase as i had tried a lot of moisturising creams you find in the shops but they would either sting my face or dry it out with the perfum in them. i tried this one though as i head a few people talk about it! it does a great job i am glad i listened to them. worth trying and not so expensive try tesco.

To reduce the shine for the day moisturiser you can just wait about 5mins after application and then use a cheap tissue to dab off the excess shine. Basically face plant, fold in half and repeat and so on. The cheap tissue is the rough paper it is best of absorbing than the silky soft ones.
@MrChadRB11 жыл бұрын
Yes, but if you're young you most likely don't need to exfoliate more than once a week. Also, you want to add a sunscreen at the end of your regimen to prevent UVA damage. Make sure it's a broad spectrum to protect from UVB (sunburn) and UVA (aging and skin damage). You can apply it in the morning and while it only lasts 2 hours of direct sunlight, it should last the whole day if you'll only be outside periodically and you weren't sweating or getting your face wet.

Hi Ross, I have a question about products containing alcohol. You said in another video that alcohol products are bad for your skin - yet the Clean & Clear Cleanser you swear by contains alcohol (or so it says on sites selling it). Do you ever get any adverse effects from it? I suffer with post-shaving bumps a lot so would appreciate a product that's good for sensitive skin!
@MensSkinCareWithRoss13 жыл бұрын
@myradrealityshow I find that really interesting and I must say that I do not agree. Simply put: washing your face twice is excessive. The second time around when your skin is already clean the cleanser is stripping your skin of important oil and moisture causing it to dry out. If you have makeup that is tough to remove, use a special makeup cleanser or cold cream :) Thank you for sharing!

Hi, thanks for the great Video. Just to clarify though, I've heard from many Beauty Therapists that's it's very important not to apply moisturiser around the eyes as there are a lot less layers of skin in that area so the products are not suitable as they will be too harsh causing more puffiness and darkness. Only specialised eye creams should be used. Would you agree with them or do you have other advise? Many thanks

I have acne and rosacea and use two prescription things and if the toner will mess with my skin. Also I wonder if that moisturizer you recommend can go with the bronzer you recommended, the clinique one. So many other questions...like how can men self tan if when we shave we are basically exfoliating and aren't we rubbing off the tan then? won't the face look spotty?

Hey, I have a question. So for the days that you exfoliate your skin, do you still wash your face with the facial cleanser? Like would you be applying it twice, once without a wash cloth and once with a wash cloth? Or do you just substitute your hands with a wash cloth while applying the cleanser?

@1982mockingbird1982 Sorry for butting in here, but you may want to try Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch sunblock SPF 30 or SPF 45. It offers broad-spectrum protection and the formula is fast-absorbing, leaving a non-greasy finish. It also contains anti-oxidants...bonus! :)

Thanks for the great video, Ross! Turns out I was applying moisturizer completely wrong. Where else would I have gotten this information if it wasn't for you? :P One thing that still confuses me is the order of applying products. I have same cleanser as you, neutrogena hydrating acne treatment (BHA exfoliant), benzagel (benzoyl peroxide), Aveeno daily moisturizer. I use those pretty much every day, and I have to shave too. Never quite been able to fathom why people wash before they go to the gym. Commonsense would suggest to me that it would be more logical to build up a sweat at the gym - then take a shower in order to remove that sweat, oil and grime caused by the workout. Why clean you're skin and apply moisturizer - only to see it running down you're face 10 minutes later at the gym? Any insights anybody? Been trying to figure this one out for years.

I watched your other videos as to what to do to get rid of acne. With respect to the benzly peroxide or salasylic acid in which step in your daily skin routine do you put it on? After your face wash, or after your toner? Seems like going backwards when put on a product that unclogs your pores (what you said salasylic acid does and recommended to use in the morning) and then putting on a moisturizer or even putting it on before your toner. Thanks!
