I’ve been hunting Venice since I was 16 years old and believe me it’s not anywhere close to what it was years ago and that’s why I don’t get excited for duck season 😞 I would give anything for it to be like it used to be
@JeremyCagle-h6hАй бұрын
Same in Northern La. The last really good season was 99-2k. It’s gotten worse every year since then. It’s fkn sad because these kids will never see what it once was

I've been duck hunting since I was 10 years old. I can't stand it . Don't kill nothing.

When you speak about outside of the levee I realized a lot of stuff trys to keep us outside of places that provide everything we need to live...in Moab Utah I found a drinkable water source... that and the Colorado River provide all you need.. it seems like the national parks keep us away from the places that we could have everything we need but I also understand if everyone could go people would ruin it with trash and everything else
@forcemajeur.5138Ай бұрын
these are great but the best ones are ones you haven't heard of unless you're a local (same goes for me to, we have some insane ones in CenLa plenty of mallards sprigs widgeons and everything left). Numbers are nothing like 20-30 years ago though for sure. Great video

Only time the ducks come down this far anymore is when it’s brutally cold up there in Arkansas and other places 👌 I’m 61 now and just keep my memories of the good old days 👍

@terryporche9059Ай бұрын
You are correct, duck hunting today is nothing like in the 60’s-80’s. Very few mallards, pintails,and geese. Young ducks are not being inbred about south Louisiana coast. Too much flooded corn and rice fields up north. Gray ducks and canvass backs are the big ducks now. I’m glad that I experienced it in much better days and times. Had a duck lease off Big Carrion Gro in mid 70’s. Coastal erosion took up the camp and got to where you couldn’t hold water in the ponds, the ponds would go to mud flats gave it up

Man I never actually shot a gun while hunting my cousin's uncle took me with my cousins but I never had a hunting license so I was always a spectator. I remember one year I believe it was thanksgiving but it may have been Christmas they had a good duck hunt that year and we had so much duck meat and duck sausage what ever that is. And I remember they said eat all the duck you want cause we gonna be eating duck for a good while even after thanksgiving. Well that's been maybe 20 years ago. I want to eat some duck again.
