I think the most heads up play here was saccing the Cathar Commando to kill the Swiftfoot Boots 1:08:00 to play to the very slight chance you pull an answer. And then you did! But great play setting yourself up to take advantage of the topdeck.

I just drafted a sweet orzhov lifegain deck, had 3 healer's hawks, 3 pridemates, and 2 dazzling angels. Immediately went 0-3 without once seeing any of those cards. I'm not salty. Not at all.

The lack of card advantage is why I like the white 3/4 in BW specifically you have so many 2 power dudes including the guarded heir. It has been very good for me. But this deck looks amazing regardless. I do think I would have played it though.

Got first place at my lgs draft yesterday with a really solid rakdos raid/discard/aggressively-slanted midrange deck with steal n' sac. Every single thing in this deck worked in at least one of the games I played. Had tiny bones with 2 burglar rats and seeker's folly and got to play a couple of cards of my opponents. Had etali be able to attack multiple times and get tons of cards from both players. Had Alesha bring back a burglar rat with raid. Had phyrexian arena out one game and stealing it. Had the steal n' sack package with 2 Involuntary Employments plus ghoul and eaten alive. Had macabre waltz and strongbox raiders for gas/grind. Good removal like stab, bake and hero's downfall. And some strong aggressive creatures like cerberus and battlesong beserker to fill out the rest. Oh, and good mana because of dual land and evolving wilds.

You're sleeping on the sage. I can't tell you how many times it has felt like the missing piece to any deck with a hungry ghoul or gourmand.

@@DiviTon Maybe it's sort of a niche situation but in one of the games, had he not had the commando he would have just lost. It created a path to win the game. Commando seems pretty good.

@@xSnarfsx Commando can be good for sure. I'm just super wary of any X/1 in this format. There are just so many cards that make you groan. Reassembling skeleton, infestation sage, burglar rat and that's just in black. Red and white have them too. Commando is the only X/1 I'll play though.

Yeah, sage is just a 1 mana doomed dissenter. Same body and a 1/1 flyer is worth as much as a 2/2 vanilla token imo. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse. Sage is a 1/1 plus a 1/1 flyer for 1 mana. That's really good value.

59:30 Banshee would not be a problem as the equipment also gives hexproof. But I wonder if it was worth playing around the sac-13-creatures wrath (the only card I can think of that you lose to in this spot) by chumping the 2nd Arbiter with the Angel so that you don't even drop to negative life.

Just did three runs in the Arena direct, opened one good pool and two insane pools (including double Koma and Tatyova in a nuts simic shell), unfortunately never made it to 4 wins and above, just 2-2, 3-2 and 2-2 But like you always say, there's variance, the draws weren't always there, and I played the game I love playing, so at the end of the day, that's Magic baby.

You might have felt lucky drawing that Banishing Light that last game. But please remember your opponent also got very lucky top-decking that wurm as well! Obviously your draws afterwards were pretty stellar, but still. You needed luck to beat luck basically.

Its interesting that you don't see the celestial armor as a bomb because it is in the top 4 cards of the entire set wenn it comes to in hand winerate. It protects a creature and makes almost any creature into a game winning threat.

Uhm, no. With Seeker's Folley, the Herald is simply a 5/5 with 5 damage on it. The Celestial Armor gives indestructible, so this doesn't matter.
