I have Dehya and Lisa together for my main team and I’m so glad she is my first 5-star I ever pulled! I got her on my bday not knowing what she did or her existence since I was still around Liyue the time I pulled her (I joined last December) I’m a huge tank player in other games so when I read Dehya’s skills I was so excited to play her :D I loved that she redirected damage for her team to herself, a concept I haven’t heard of much in other games ngl (closest I can think of in terms of similarity for her kit is the item Death’s Dance in League of Legends, where u reduce damage taken and heal up the longer u fight and get takedowns) and her ult felt so empowering to use 👊🏼🔥 Personally she has made my gameplay feel comfier and I hope I “lose” my future 50/50s to her! ♥️ (and Tighnari lol)

Honestly a melt-burgeon team is probably my favourite Dehya team. Charlotte, Furina, Nahida, Dehya. You get lots of different coloured pretty numbers: melt, vaporize, burgeon. With Furina and Dehya trading off who is triggering the vaporize. The self damage from burgeon is enough to sustain the Vorukasha Glow buff on Dehya.

Good video but I feel like you've missed out on mentioning a few important things that either make or break her. 1) Her defensive utility is on a timer rather than a damage meter which means its capable of tanking an infinite amount of damage (in practice doesnt work out), this means that whilst a zhongli shield may be able to barely tank Apep's nuke attack with minimal HP if he's not a pure HP non support build, a Dehya can fully tank the damage with about half health left in a conservative non defensive focused build. 2) Her ultimate is used as a sub-dps ability in quick swap fashion, use it to break enemy elemental shields or stagger meter or geo barriers of some kind as she can tank all the incoming damage and as a claymore user all her attacks inflict massive damage to these kinds of barriers and mechanics. 3) She's good for exploring. 4) Chevvy does not work well when you dont add a pure pyro and electro team as the enemies do not get their defenses shredded and only works as an ATK buff which makes her easily replaced in non-overload focus teams. 5) Dehya has very poor pyro application due to her ICD being standard despite her many hits which infact makes her an extremely poor candidate for vaporise and melt teams of any kind. 6) As her defensive utility is able to tank damage taken by the team it makes her extra useful at protecting her other teammates online or in solo que when fighting enemies similar to the rift hounds. 7) Her skill is based on enemies hit rather than NA attacks or Ult attacks hit making it more consistent even despite the long wait between attacks. 8) She is a standard character who's offensive capabilities rise dramatically as soon as you get any of her constellations with each one being so good that it puts many limited banner constellations to shame, with the introduction of the new banner (You didnt know at the time) this will make her easier to get cons for and even her weapon. (when her character is added to the banner). Unlike in HSR or HI3rd this game does not have clear cut "dps" "support" and "tank" roles but are far more flexible, I can run my zhongli as a dps with a still good shield and spammable ult for example and for that reason Dehya is not a bad character as her flexibility makes her very fun to play and able to be put in many teams without becoming a useless add on. IMO: If you're talking about a specialized character she is a 4/10 being "ok" barely, but as a character who can give utility to many teams and enable them she ranks as 7/10 as her interrupt resist for her whole team and opening enemies up to attacks makes her very valuable vs scarier enemies and on field dps who have downtime issues.

Her defense ultility sucks though? It can tank infinite amount but what's the point of tanking so much dmg until you die? You will probably need a healer to play with her, or just replace her with an outright shielder to avode the hassel. I'd give her 5/10 for her supportive case.

@@kateliza8922 She allows for the occasional reaction, has a big range on defensive utility, works much better in rotations due to its longer duration and the fact it cant be destroyed, she has a aelf heal passive so idk why you’d need a healer, you can trigger effects that require your character to not have a shield equipped, you can trigger health loss effects much easier without the annoyance of stagger, triggers resonance and works with characters like lyney well due to giving defensive utility ontop of satisfying their perameters. Thats pretty much why sye’s good as a defense unit, her ult and her claymore status just make her even better and gives her team indirect defense by breaking enemy guard on mitachurls (who can oneshot zhongli barrier then put bombs on the floor), she is also the only real tank character in genshin, a character with self sustain abilities that face tanks damage whilst still doing useful shit. Unless she’s in neuvi team she’ll never do a bajillion damage but those types teams always focused on hyper specialised units like childe, kuki, or yae etc. Use her vs enemies with annoying/dangerous phases and she’ll show u her worth. Also she absorbs corrosion effects very well which ALL shielders cannot except for c6 zhongli or noelle but she has to be on field dpsing to initiate heals to counter it. TLDR: Alone she’s a good defense unit but with a healer she’s literally immortal and can tank 99% of all boss nuke attacks with the exceptions of scara and raiden oneshot and if u stand on the exploding balls when the knave jumps down, but at that point ur kinda trolling if u die to that attack.

I'm just glad Chevreuse exists and was mentioned here. Her synergy with Dehya is insane, pair them with Ei and a flex Electro like Sara/Kuki or Pyro like Bennett, and enemies just melt like butter. I will have to point out tho, that even in those teams with Chevreuse as the only healer, combined with Dehya's mitigation, I've felt that the healing is just enough. And even better, since she's with Ei, I can get away with Dehya's Vourukasha's Glow set with just 123 ER and get her burst up pretty reliably, it's amazing. I also wanna point out a team that wasn't as good until Furina came out - and a mf chaotic one at that - is Dehya with Furina Nahida (with P. Amber) and Shinobu. You get vapes, burning, overload, hyperbloom, burgeons, and electro charged, all in one team. The unconditional application of Dehya's teammates make this team actually viable and since Furina's there, Dehya's punches get buffed as well. It's a bit memey, but still good imo. (No it's not just Dehya with Hyperbloom).

I hate how so many people just ignore Chevreuse - Overload - Dehya team. Especially since Raiden's banner was perfect for it. So Dehya - Ei - Bennet(pref C6) - Chevreuse(C6 is godtier). Good battery units, good damage buffs in pretty much every way. Good Overload application passively and Ei can just burst during Dehya's downtime. Bennet provides even more healing ontop of Chevreuse's. Chevreuse C6 with near constant 60% Pyro damage and an extra heal built into her skill is also just amazing. Considering this team is purely Pyro and Electro characters, you also get the 40% shred on every Overload proc. The biggest problem atm is getting her at all, let alone C6 is pure luck based no matter if you whale or not. And her signature weapon which is fantastic, can't be obtained currently.

Also, one of Chevy’s passive doesn’t work if you have any character on the team that isn’t either pyro or electro. Dehya is bad and all these team comps are cope. It’s better to completely replace dehya with any other pyro character… it’s nice that she can finally have a team but it’s for whales. Making her work costs money and time. And it’s best to just drop her in as a flex for a meta comp

@@KategariYami Up until patch 4.4 her N1 normal attack would randomly miss often, in the latest patch the miss rate appears to be stealth fixed down to almost never missing. ( of all the problem she has this is what they stealth fix??). Her E skill triggers her gold forged state however this does not apply to her skill itself. She can be stun locked before you ever get to cast your E skill. Such a problem was fixed with Zhongli when he got his kit overhauled. Switching characters while her gold forged state can suffer a timelag in application to the character you swap to. So basically you activate Dehya E skill, you should get gold forged state applying to your active character, sometimes if you swap character while gold forged state is active there is a spilt second where you will get hit and sent flying. This most often happens with the massive lawalchurls. Her actual E skill itself has no ICD for triggering the second half of ranging flame. you press once then Dehya will slam the ground with her E twice. This is only problematic if you wish to reposition her E skill due to its relative small AOE. OR if you trying to get your max number of pyro applications for burgeon rotations. Her gold forged state also has no clear visual guide, it is the same arrows you see with the TTODS buff, you can't tell them apart, maybe not a bug by strict definition but a terrible fucking design oversight. Now on to her burst, oh gods where to begin..... Random auto targeting on her burst, any attempts to guide her movement using WASD movement is overridden by the auto aim. Meaning you can get stuck on terrain, if attempting to use Dehya in the overworld, which is completely fair use since it is a open world game. If fighting two or more enemy units Dehya can and will randomly PING-PONG between the two enemies can using random numbers of her punches to be in the completely wrong direction. Dehya's burst can't move over terrain she can WALK over. Small ledges will stop Dehya dead in her tracks combined with the auto movement means enemies can 'kite' Dehya. Again what is the point of using Dehya in the open world game where Ledges are her greatest BOSS. This is rare BUT absolutely infuriating if you manage to get a enemy down to low HP but can't actually kill them since Dehya gets stuck behind a ledge. Then there is the slope launch bug very hard to reproduce but it can happen around round or smooth enemies. Large slimes can cause the game physics to freak out while Dehya is using her burst. Basically while you are punching with Dehya she can 'move' over the slime fly end into the air BUT she is still performing her punch animation she technically does not jump as she still punching mid air. Dehya will then land a few seconds later be still punching, take no fall damage BUT your ability to mash E to speed up her punches may cease to function meaning you still end up losing DPS. Her burst getting frozen, you can't jump to get our of burst so you end up losing your burst entirely. You can just do nothing and watch her burst runs out hoping the burst outlasts the frozen Debuff, BUT what happens is no matter how long into her burst it will auto cancel once you get frozen and no incineration driving kick you. Then maybe not a bug but her E skill and elemental burst are in direct opposition to each other gameplay wise. ERGREGIOUS bad design. I know this is stupidly long, but this is what I have seen while playing Dehya from her release up until now and yes I play Dehya daily. The most sad part is the laziest and easiest cover up these bugs would be to just increase her damage multipliers. If Dehya had enough personal dmg to kill enemies these bugs would still occur but not be massively detrimental to her overall gameplay. /RANTOVER sorry you had to read that.

Mean ingame, every single character that says her name....says 'Day-Ya'. Teyvat is a fictional world, and Sumeru is it's own nation. It doesn't nessarily follow the same rules of letter pronunciation that Pakistan does.

And now she is great with Arlecchino's release, who can't be healed but give Dehya a ER weapon like Fav and Arlecchino now has someone to soak up damage and buff attacks from off field. Add in Chevy and either Mona (Prototype Amber) or an electro trigger of choice and go to town with an amazing damage team that isn't quite as squishy as most Arlecchino teams or needing to have a shielder.

And afterwards she was part of the Chronicled Banner in 4.5, which was 3 months ago. So if you still don't have her, sounds like a You problem buddy. But ideally it just means you bring a healer (which frankly you should be doing anyway).

How can people think Dehya's defensive utilities are unnecessary? Here is the thing: Dehya is a tank. She is a tradicional tank from other MMORPGs, or if you play Honkai Star Rail, is the default Preservation character. Her role is to soak damage from her teammates, and not she is literally the ONLY tank character in Genshin Impact, she is really good at it: she can tank off-screen, which means she doesn't need to be on-field to do that, and with proper setup she will shield herself and heal herself after that. She also applies Pyro off-field with no extra shenanigans, making her a premium unit for reverse melt/vaporize characters, such as Wriosthesley or Ganyu. And, as any tank, her damage sucks. Yes, she can grow quite impressive at C6, as her damage increases by about 300%, but realistically, if you have money to reach C6 on a character, you could go for Yelan, Neuvillette, or any of the other actual DPS character that will also out-DPS Dehya with their own 6th Constellation, so her main selling point isn't damage. I honestly think she is one of the most useful standard banner characters now, after Jean: Diluc got powercrept, and even if you get Xianyun next patch, he will be at same level as Tighnari, at most, which is unimpressive. Keqing is fun to play, but is also a weak unit by today's standards. Qiqi is useless. Even after Furina, there are still better healers than her, that do more than only heal. Tighnari is the strongest of the standard DPS characters, but he is far weaker than the promotional ones. Mona is good, but the teams she was suited for already replaced her for either Kokomi or Furina, and nobody remembers Mona exists. Dehya, on the other hand, is unique. There is no other character that does what she does. She gives interrupt immunity, soaks damage, applies Pyro off-field as easily as Nahida or Charlotte. I like her a lot, and I am glad I got her. In a Ganyu team, I consider her a lot better than Zhongli. TL;DR: Dehya is a tank, not a DPS, that's why her damage sucks. She is not meant to be played as a DPS, and people playing her as such is as gimmick as DPS Zhongli or DPS Barbara.

I think what you might be forgetting (and it's very noble of you to do so) is that the Genshin Community, especially the Min-max and metaslave Andies amongst us, are insane. These are the same group of people who at the start complained that Kokomi, a healer mind you, and a terrific healer at that, unironically one of the best healers in the game before we even talk about her universality as a Hydro chick, didn't do damage (because of the whole -100% Crit Rate thing). These people need their healers to do damage in order for them to be useful in their teams... For some psychotic reason. You're absolutely right - Dehya has always been more of a Tank character than even other Shielders, but as other people have discussed with other games like WoW and Final Fantasy: Nobody wants to play Tank. It's a thankless job, and if you screw up you get all of the blame. And yet it's one of the most important roles ever, requiring arguably the most game knowledge necessary to complete various hard encounters. And it's like I said in the video - I think at the time of her release we didn't have that many things that did 1 Morbillion Damage that instashredded even Zhongli's shield. But these days we kinda actually definitely do. Edit - for the record I'm a minmax Andy, but I minmax everyone I like to play haha

@@KategariYami I think this narrow view of characters is also dictated by the fact that the only challenging content in the game by intention of Hoyo is abyss. And even in the world a lot of challenges are just dps checks. So if all you see around you is nails, everything but a hammer start to look useless. So I also blame Hoyo for that. They created an issue for themself cuz now nobody wants to pull for a char that isn't optimal for dps checks. Such a shame for a game with a lot of potential.

When I went to the chasm when I was pretty severely under leveled but still cleared everything (combat time trials) Geo traveler was my best character by far. The ability separate mobs, block movement of dangerous enemies, and create cover was a lifesaver. The same attributes that made Geo traveler essential there are irrelevant/actively bad in Spiral Abyss.

First of all, Noelle exists. She is by all means the staple tank for Genshin. If anything she’s better at it. Dehya easily dies on field during her burst, which is when you want her to be active. Her damage mitigation is certainly sometimes nice to have, but there’s really rarely any situations where you’ll need it since you’re using a healer with her anyways and it only mitigates to a certain extent. This is less of a problem if you’re building HP but it’s nearly useless on her pre-C1. Second of all, so much of her design is designed for damage. It’s not wrong to expect her to do damage, even her signature set and weapon are geared towards them. She just sucks at it cause the devs butchered her multipliers so they could put it into her constellations. Not to mention that her burst is designed for damage instead of supporting. If she had a supportive burst she would’ve been fine, but it’s clear they want Dehya to be some sort of Utility/Burst DPS just based off her design. Her ascension passives and skill are mainly designed for defense, but you can’t use her as the sole defensive option in the party anyways since she simply doesn’t provide enough defense. Third of all, Dehya is uniquely useful as being the only pyro that can provide resistance interruption unconditionally, unlike Thoma, who needs normal attacks. In nearly all teams where he can be used instead of Dehya, he is just strictly better. Only in Lyney and Neuv teams does she gain a needed role cause pyro just has such limited defensive options currently. This does make her currently a uniquely valuable option for such teams but it’s really only a matter of time before she gets powercrept by the next pyro shielder. Dehya has gotten *better* with Fontaine Characters since some of them really like defensive pyro, but can’t use Thoma. Moreover, Furina has made DPS Dehya significantly more workable, but Dehya isn’t really that great an option for her. However, the problem with Dehya’s kit is just that her numbers are BAD. They’re just bad. It’s clear that she was designed to just not be good by looking at her numbers. I mean hell, why does she have 8 seconds of downtime on her E?? Albedo who has a similar albeit maybe even stronger skill has full uptime. It’s clear they designed it to be bad since her C2 fixes it. She was simply not designed to be good. The Kokomi and Shinobu comparisons legit need to stop. Dehya has legit problems with her kit whilst Kokomi and Shinobu were slandered due to the state of the community meta at the time. Shinobu maybe less so, but it was clear if you just thought about it that she was designed with Dendro in mind. Dehya is not a character that is underappreciated or will be “fixed” by future gimmicks. She’s just designed to be an underwhelming and somewhat weak character that gets better with constellations you get from losing 50/50s. I love her and main her, but she’s always overhyped by “defenders” nowadays. And even the game as a whole is plagued by defenders when the team behind Genshin or at least the managing needs to stop slacking.

The moment I see bro cooked up a chevreuse team with a hydro unit, I know I should stop watching. I mean no offense. I'm sure bro knew already that he strips chevreuse out of her biggest asset. In return what does he get: solve some ER issue; get a team that doesn't heal fast enough to front load Furina buff; mediocre buff compared to just slap a bennett in; what's the point of choosing dori when chev's passive is already disabled by having Furina in the team. He made a team that might work for him with so many compromises. That just doesn't align with what I call a good team. So, as I said, no offense, good for you, it's just painful for me to continue watching.

@@KategariYami You're forgetting Ayaka, Kirara, Barbra, and Noelle. Ayaka is basically that NPC in inazuma who's plot was about her marrying someone, Kirara's only playable cause she's a cat, Barbra's playable for some reason, and Noelle is literally just a weaker version of the gigachads in Wangshu in who destroy massive rocks and enemies faster than we can blink. Bennet's got a NPC personality but his backstory is alteast kinda nuts

I only just saw this. There's a lot wrong here. Ayaka has a story quest, a brother, an outfit, and was a lead actor in the film that won the Fontanalia Film Festival in 4.3. Kirara has a job. And she can climb walls. And she's a cat. Barbara is an idol. She has fans. She has that 1 creepy fan too. She also has a sister, who is *checks notes* aah yes the Acting Grand Master. And Noelle has *checks notes* ah yes - 2 Hangouts. And she has a job. And I don't care if it's not official, she's a Knight of Favonius (and probably their strongest Knight DareISay). Meanwhile Bennett... Has none of that. No job, no drip, no fans, no family, nothing. Backstory: lol. Just hints about nothing. He's a playable NPC. Who knows, maybe Natlan will be when he finally gets... Anything. Until then, he's the NPC.

I JUST started Genshin a couple weeks ago. Got Chlorinde within 2 multis. Went for a dupe of her and I got Dehya by surprise. She looked and played so awesomely! As the games gotten a little further along, she’s still 2nd to Chlorinde, but I love her. She’s VERY fun to use. I hear everyone say she’s super awful/worst 5star and I can’t help but be bummed and say “heyyyyy, that’s not true! >_< But it seems she’s getting a biiiit of a buff here and there so that’s nice. I’ll be faithfully using her for a bit. Maybe Sigwenne or Furina can make my Dehya/Chlorinde/Charlotte team even better!! (That’s my ideal starter team atm.)
