It actually made Batman a better gadgeteer, since his cape is WAY more versatile than the Utility Belt. Even then, he's so jacked that it doesn't matter if he has the Batarang Ears or Bat-tle Axe. He's so strong that he'd manhandle the Prime Bruce off sheer muscle. He looks like he *ate* Bruce Wayne.

After reading the first two issues of Absolute Batman, I'm now adamant on the idea of Scott Snyder writing a Daredevil run for Marvel once he's done with this. Seeing Scott Snyder's take on Gotham and slightly tweaking Bruce Wayne's origins and worldview tell me that he'd totally cook with writing a long issue Daredevil run.

As far as why Apollo and the gods didn’t just kill Diana, I think she might be a child of Zeus (or another god) like she had become in the main continuity recent years. In many stories of ancient Greece, killing a blood relative is forbidden even for the gods. It would also explain why they didn’t come after her the minute she left hell and declared she was an Amazon.

If I had a nickel for every time a classic comics supervillain decides they're tired of being The Bad Guy, so they fight their own meta narrative in an attempt to escape the status quo, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice. (Loki: Agent of Asgard (2014), written by Al Ewing, is a story that's pretty much about Loki doing exactly this.)

Afaik, the plan for the Absolute line is finite, I've heard it's supposed to be around 5 years, with a final crossover between both universes at the end. That said, we all know money talks, and DC are facing several public domain lapses, so if this thing continues to sell well and they can't sort out their IP issues, I suspect the status quo of what we think these characters are will massively change in the next 10 years.

I've read the first two issues of absolute Superman, and absolute Batman. I thought it was really fantastic. You compare it to the Ultimate Universe, but there's no comparison the absolute Superman Universe just by itself is the best thing I've read in years from DC or Marvel. The artwork especially the cover art is amazing, the Superman himself, the costume, the cape, all of those things are just really fantastic ideas I think you've created a Universe that's going to be around for a while. I can see all the previous Superman stories as becoming like the Golden Age to the absolute age. I think people will be talking about it the way people now talk about the Golden Age. the stories were kind of simple compared to today that's the way today is going to be compared to the absolute age. Batman was also just as Good. Whoever came up with this idea is brilliant. that's all I can say.

They already lost me. The point in starting a new continuity is to start fresh. If I have to read 50 event comics and a thousand tie-ins to understand your new universe then you've utterly failed.
