Awesome video bromley, I grew up watching WSM on tv. But it wasn’t until a few years ago that I learned there are and were tons of different strongman competitions and tons of great competitors I’d never heard of. Thanks for shedding light on this awesome piece of history

Those Met-RX WSM comps were always a fun watch with the family when I was a kid. Of course I rooted for Pudz back in the day, but rewatching them a few years ago gave me an appreciation for Terry Hollands in particular.
@zvuchko97853 ай бұрын
Why? Terry was monster of a man who prob was stronger than most of them but had weakest mind. He always quit as soon as pain kicked in and then commentators had to keep making excuses for him and it always cracked me up. UK versions of WSM always hyped him up as threat to Pudz and Big Z yet he never did shit. Imagine if he had mental strength of Novikov or Pudzianowski combined with his physical stature. He would be force to be reckoned with.

Poundstone and Marius are the reasons I always saw strongman as the pinical of strength athletes. Strongman is the highest form of a real test of strength. Nothing else to me is as complete.
@mcfarvo3 ай бұрын
The pinnacle looks more like Big Z and Big Brian with people like Halfthor and Eddie in the same vein of athlete IMHO (but Pudz and Poundstone are lighter/leaner/shorter/smaller than those guys too)
@OpenBarGarage3 ай бұрын
@@mcfarvo I agree without question with what you said. But impressionable young me back in the day I was first exposed to Marius and Poundstone and that made me think the sport was so cool. And today I believe the sport of strongman is the best test of strength that we have.
