There was an incident where an Email (or Dicker max) missed an chance to ambush a collum of Soviet vehicles because it was too slow to get into position in time. On a hot day one ended up self destructing after it's engine overheated which caused a fire and the tank was written off completely.

That is standard russian destroyer calibre. Its literally a destroyer gun. Technically they used the calibre on battleships. But only as secundairy or tirtiairy guns.

i love using the HE rounds with this thing alongside with the -15 depression for indirect fire, but the reload rate and limited ammo is abysmal

The limited ammo isn't a big deal lol , you get shot or revenge bombed by CAS long before you load your 3rd round.

That is no where near battleship caliber. That is destroyer caliber. Battleship caliber guns would be around 304mm-457 mm.
