With the beige moms thing - There’s a mother on tiktok who’s home is gothic themed and even she has a room full of baby toys and color that her child plays in. If she can understand that her kid needs color then these beige moms can too, they just have a massive ego.

Can we talk about how weird it is that “beige moms” are trying to own the term? reclaiming the fact that you’re stealing colour and developmental factors from your child to fit your egotistical style just feels wrong.

I have experienced with this comment. My parents used to spray paint mine and my sisters toys. Although, they almost always use primar, and protective layers, when they didn't it usually wore off because we played with it so much. And they spray painted them for completely different reasons, they just did it because it was usually so girly and me and my sisters didn't like it, they did it because they were putting us first, like a PARENT

Another thing that puzzles me is that many of the vlogging moms who are in their 20s look like what elementary and middle schoolers used to look like before Y2K, and vloggers in their 30s frequently look like high schoolers from back then. Since looking and sounding so young usually comes from a non-smoking lifestyle, props to these generations for purging their surroundings of tobacco, but anyone who remembers what K-12 students looked like last millennium would probably judge them for marrying and having children at that young, and I'm surprised more people don't think of that as a deterrent to parent vlogging.

Another thing that I feel fits here, is how BABY clothes are being sexualized. Like, for boys, the writing is about how they're a "ladies man" and stuff like that, and for girls it's about how they're "insecure" about something. (The reason why I put insecure in quotes is because they're a baby. They can't comprehend insecurity unless some serious abuse/neglect is happening in the house.)

Some of the baby clothes I have seen made me lose hope in humanity. 1. Who came up with that? 2. Who manufacuted it without question? 3. Who put that up for sale and was ok with it? 4. Who saw that and thought "yeah that's fine to put on my literal infant, I'll buy it"?

Or children's clothes for girls just being smaller versions of women's clothes. Like even shorts for toddlers are shorter for girl's shorts than boy's. Though i do think that people treating their little girls as baby dolls that they can "dress up all pretty" is part of the issue. Call me crazy but some people should just buy a life-size doll instead of having kids because at least the doll won't grow up to resent them

If you're going to be a parent and have biological children, then you better be able to accept the fact that they could come out any gender, and heck, they might even be trans. If you are so unbelievably hung up on a kid's gender, then adopt, that way you already know, but even then you shouldn't be a parent anyway because why on earth are you putting so much importance on what is in a CHILD'S pants?? Your child's well being should be priority, not their gender.

As a mom, I want super badly to share the kids I love with the world, show how proud I am, and keep family in the loop. But that's not feasibly possible while maintaining their safety, and their future comfort/ control of their personality and presence. So.... I don't. They're adorable boys, and so friendly, and innocent- as kids should be. Those are all magnets for predators and I am not capable of risking that for some "likes" or interested in providing the wrong people with material they shouldn't have. "Innocent" or not. I'm a girl (biologically). Mom told me stories about my MALE relatives saying how I'm "flirty" because I smiled a lot. I was literally a baby/toddler. And surprisingly when my brother was born none of the relatives said that about him when he smiled. At the same time I was praised for being such a "good girl and future perfect wife" (I was quiet, I did quite a bit of chores including helping mom to take care of my brother while everything I did was out fear because my father was abusive towards me and being quiet was coping mechanism) and whenever my brother misbehaved everyone said that "boys will be boys" and how mom shouldn't do anything about it because he'll grow out of it. I was always told that when I'm in a relationship I should take care of everything, while my brother was told to expect his future girlfriend/wife to take care of stuff like cooking and cleaning. I'm 21 now and in a relationship where we split the chores 50/50 because we're both working and mostly he's back home earlier than me (he's a carpenter and I work at a gift shop at the zoo)

The nursery is all black, very Victorian era, but she has a room that’s full of colors for all her children to play in. Alongside the fact that her house has themed rooms with different colors, like her gym (purple and green), her arcade room also has a bunch of different colors. And correct me if I’m wrong but her older children’s rooms are all decorated the way they want.

As a wrestling fan and a fan of her husband and brother in law for a long time, yess, her boys have cool rooms themed to what they like, like Minecraft and games, like that house today is stunning and like a fun house compared to when I first watched Matt’s house tour on the Twist Of Fate dvd and when they used it for the web series w his brother and Shannon (childhood friend), it has definitely come a long way 😅

I’ve said this before, but I’m pretty meticulous about my decor and I really like having consistency in my aesthetic. BUT, when I adopted my kitty last fall, I immediately bought him all the hideous furry feathery jingle bell toys his little kitty heart desires. Even though they’re strewn all over my apartment, matching my color palette was never a consideration. (His favorites are, unfortunately, the ugliest ones. So of course I keep buying more ugly cat toys.) And that’s for a goddamn cat, not a literal human child!! It’s just selfish to prioritize ~aesthetic~ over your child’s development and happiness

My mom is like an anti-boy mom where she sort of just...Hates her boys. And she doesnt try to hide it, she actively says shit like "I just don't have boys right" or "Im so glad i dont have another kid because it'd end up being a boy" (she had her kids in a pattern: Girl, boy, girl, boy, girl) and i feel HORRIBLE for my brothers. Both ends of that spectrum are horrible, why can't parents treat their kids well? 😭😭

this makes me so sad because one of the things that makes me so excited about the idea of having children is getting to meet a whole new person and helping them discover what they love. Mommy's room is going to have dark walls and black tapestries with LED neon lights and creepy sculptures and horror icons but I want them to have their own space and their own clothes. I want them to be little citizens with lives and interests. outside of the fact that beige is already my least favorite aesthetic, I just don't know how she can't find joy in her children having their own interests

Toxic boy moms make me so mad. My younger brother is my bully, if we were in a public school together he'd be constantly getting in trouble. But since we're just at mom my mom tells me "Be patient", "He doesn't know how to regulate his emotions so that's how he gets your attention" "Stop holding it over his head" "Be generous" and my personal *favorite* "You just have to indure" I think this is because for so long (12 yrs) he was the youngest boy out of 8 kids with only an older brother, so my mom felt like she needed to defend him more or smth.
