We all know why we're here, Lamb of God covered the song as Burn the Priest and we all wanted to know where it originally came from. I honestly believe that more bands should do what Lamb of God is doing, shedding light on unheard bands like this is fucking awesome and should be more common.
@dylanthevillain-886 жыл бұрын
Writer's Block by Evergreen Terrace and The Anatomy Of by BTBAM are amazing as well.
@CrypticDiabolo6 жыл бұрын
Dylan Bailey The Anatomy Of was great, I'm not familiar with writers Block, but The Anatomy Of is filled with songs from well known bands, it's the kind of cover album that's made as an omage to all of their favorite influences. It's cool but a little unnecessary seeing as how those songs were great from their original artists. It's not the same as Coal Chamber covering rowboat by Flood, or indeed Lamb of God going back to their original band name and covering songs by obscure bands that they like and that are relatively unknown, that's what's up

I don’t see why people complain about where other people find out about bands that they’ve known about for a while, people always say mainstream bands suck and bands like these don’t get the recognition they deserve. Well that cover brought many people here to listen, me being one of them, and I was blown away, there’s parts I like more from BTP, but ultimately I like this version way better, oh and the Municipal Waste cover of this song too.

As a lot of people already mentioned, most of us are here because of Lamb Of God Personally , I think LOG version is a lot better. It sounds a lot more professional and a lot more Lamb Of God. People with good ears will hear a difference with the drumming and the guitar sometimes. Great cover Lamb of God best band ever 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@nukkleargarlicbread6 жыл бұрын
Lemaire Performance Horses Personally, I prefer rawness. I like LoG/Burn the Priest's cover just fine, but this is disgustingly raw, punky metal that's just soooo perfect.
@bryanpeart6 жыл бұрын
Lemaire Performance Horses - giant difference in production i agree. Log is polished and better imo for what it’s worth!

Well, you have to realize that this album came out in 1988, WAY before anyone else was really playing shit like this, and recording studios didn't know what the fuck to do with fast, brutal music. Listen to other albums from 1988 and the production will be just as thin and "unpolished", but that's how everything from those early days of thrash metal and hardcore was. Even "huge" bands like Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax had albums that didn't sound anywhere near how metal albums sound today. Producers and recording engineers who grew up listening to and playing that kind of music finally became the people who were recording and mixing those kinds of bands, and they understood what was necessary to get that thick, heavy sound. You're probably right that the drumming is "better" in LoG, but there weren't that many drummers playing double bass back then either. You started seeing it used by more bands once Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax started getting more popular around 1986-1987. This is only 2 years after that.
@jedisok135 жыл бұрын
This version IS better because of its rawness. Lamb of God are a fucking joke.

I hate to admit it but I know who the Accused are and Ive never given them a proper listen, it took LoG to get me to check it out. BUt then again, if it wasnt for hearing garage days in about 91, I would prob never listened to Diamondhead or Budgie, and that woulda been sad for me.

Just because a band polishes an old punk or thrash song and makes it sound all clean and different, doesn’t make it better. This song is great because of its rawness. It also came out at a time when this music was less accepted. A popular band can clean it up and add all the bells and whistles modern technology can offer. I will take the original , dirty , nasty , crusty version, because that is how it was meant to be.
@Megatraum5042 жыл бұрын
i understand what u mean by that. Im not a hardcore metal fan, but i can relate. I wouldnt want a remastered or covered version of old 3 6 mafia mixtapes like underground vol. 1. The grittiness is a part of the sound. Thing here is, i dont fk with this band or punk really. But i do like the LoG take on the song. Slightly slower and Randy kills that shit. Be a salty hipster all u want, but from a completely unbiased opinion, i wouldn't re-listen to this version.
