Even in Lao, this story was pretty hard to track down, but I managed to find out that ທ້າວຊຽງສີ is in fact a real story. If you can read Lao, the story can be read here: laoupdatenews.blogspot.com/2017/11/NP1051.html
@neolexiousneolexian60793 жыл бұрын
That link was posted just nine days after this video was published, though. I'm sure it's probably real. Oral tradition from a small Asian nation with a still-growing economy is understandably hard to find on the English Internet. But a link from before this video publicized the story more would be more reliable IMO.

There is a Thai version of this tale. In Thai version, Xian Si (We called them Phaya Kothabong) is supposed to be ousted former king of Nong Sno - the land that later become Ayutthaya. In Thai version, Xian Si flee from Lan Xiang back to the Nong Sno and die there. So there is another temple that is linked to this tale in Ayutthaya.

It sounds an entire lot like the history from one of my favorite fiction books called the Bible. That has this story about a man that never cut his hair and killed a lion with his bare hands, and that got tricked into telling a beautiful woman he slept with his secret to his power, being his long hair. She cut his hair in his sleep, he was taken to a temple chained up for show, he prayed to God for the strength to make the temple collapse and he got it, even if his hear no longer was fabulous. Great story.
