Ki Adi Mundi wasnt even born during this show he is born 40 years later. Good on Disney Star Wars Changing that fact. :/
@JAYWALKER10005 ай бұрын
Yeah, Wookiepedia had to scramble changing Ki-Adi-Mundi's age in the entry and making his species longer lived. Assuming this will make the line "the sith haven't been seen for a millenia" from Phantom Menace be a conspiracy of the jedi. Only bringing Ki (who wouldn't be alive at this time) into this to make him a liar then. Whatever goes on film callously trunps lore we've cherished for years. NOTHING on Wookiepedia is sacred - I wouldn't put a rewrite of events in the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy beyond the extent of where they'll go. So questioning my faith in Disney Star Wars (and Marvel for that matter) cancelled my Disney+ subscription - which has never been churned - as the only vote that they might understand that I want better quality ahows than this by hitting them in the wallet. You spent $180,000,000.00 on this??? Where?????? They're already being hit in the wallet at the parks due to low attendance and broken rides (If you're going to retheme a ride but not make basic changes to it - please do a little research and realize there are no log flumes in bayou country or terraine drops of that magnititude - it's pretty flat). Will resub only for the length of shows I want to see (Andor season 2). Will see Deadpool and Woolverine in the theater. Unsubscribed from KZbinrs I've watched for years suddenly realizing they've never said a bad word about anything Star Wars. Seeing just how similar tthey are to the KZbinrs that reviewed the Galactic Starcrusier and praised it to the heavens. Totally respect your viewpoint. Have no intention of unsubscribing from your channel. Note: I have not gone to the Dark Side and have not subscrined to the Star Wars Is Woke channels. I am curuous to see how the GIna Carano lawsuit goes down. (A strong female chacter sidelined because her political viewpoint didn't align with KK's.) It's not that I think everything George wrote is 100% sacred any more than I think the same of everything Stan Lee wrote. There was a story during the Byrne run on Fantastic Four where Lockjaw of the Inhumans (up to this point presumed to be a dog) tells Ben Grimm (the Thing) about his problems coming to terms with his appearance after the terrigen mist transformed him.* I realized after all the time this race had allowed the tererigen mist to turn them into all kinds of weird forms why would they suddenly decide to subject one pet to the procedeure and no others. Even if it seemed they had been petting him in the past if he was a close relative why wouldn't they touch him. It's not like he ever rolled over on his back and they rubbed his belly. So I bought into it only to have the next writer retcon that as a joke played on Ben by two other Inhumans (who had never been shown to have a sense of humor before). * It went something like this (sue me for not making the effort to get the original dialogue). BEN: Boy, I bet you'd have some stories to tell if you could talk. LOCKJAW: I don't usually say anything. It hurts to talk And I had a hard time adjusting to this.... Ben is so astonished he doesn't really know what to say. But as it goes on - they commiserate - and Ben winds up feeling better about himself.

Doing quick pauses on the scene where he force pushes the Jedi you can see he isn't wearing gloves. Take a close look at those hands fingers nails. Then go back and look at Qimir's when he is walking up the mountain talking to Mai about Sol. Very similar just saying.

Thank you for remaining as hopeful and positive as you can. I think this show will make sense when we finally see the whole thing laid out. We need a little something every week to help us as a fandom. This slow mystery isn't really working on a week to week pace. There haven't been enough reveals or explanations and the internet can't wait. This might have been better dropped every couple of days or all at once rather than this slow pacing.

You make an important point. Netflix has changed the way modern TV goers watch media by dropping an entire series at once so one could "netflix and chill". I grew up in the 70s and 80s before the internet and streaming shows and TV was ALWAYS once a week. That's all i ever knew growing up. I am enjoying the once a week Disney+ stuff but I can definately understand why it's hard to do especially with a mystery show that is teasing things that need new angles to watch. I feel your pain! But also I'm used to it and am very much enjoying this show. I can handle it. You're right tho, the internet can't.

I think this is the kind of show that will be much better to binge-watch. I'm still holding on to my two theories that Qimir will be the stranger, but the twist will be that he's actually Plagueis using a Force mask. Alternatively, the stranger could be Mother Koril, who, like Darth Traya, is tired of being interfered with by the Jedi, the Sith, or Force users in general. She might seek revenge for whatever happened with her coven and now wants to destroy the Force itself, just like Darth Traya did. She may also have ties to Abeloth and i only think that because of the mask and if they some how want to tie it back to Ahsoka some how but idk. I also wonder if we will see some nameless in this or even go to planet x not sure. Will be interesting to see what happens next.

I think that maybe the “dark side user or sith” was living on Brendok and was already plotting against the Jedi and suddenly the Mae/osha situation happened. he probably found mae and thought he could use what happened to her to start his mission against the Jedi. He probably didnt reveal himself to her because he maybe sensed that she wasn’t fully committed to him.

There may not have been a lot happening to move the plot forward, but there were a lot of interesting moments and bits of dialogue that give us some clues and get us wondering. 3:13 I have a different take on this, though I have to admit I know nothing about Darth Plagueis' master, so the following opinion is made without that knowledge. I agree with the connection last week's episode made with Osha and Mae's coven and the Dark side of the Force--the episode used the exact words Chancellor Palpatine did when he was explaining the Dark Side of the Force to Anakin, "Dark" and "Unnatural." Mother Koril seemed to be confirming that their coven was indeed using the Dark Side of the Force when she voiced her concerns about the Jedi learning how Osha and Mae came to be. Star Wars, IMO, has always connected witchcraft in Star Wars to the Dark Side of the Force, with the possible exception of Dathmoir's Mount Clan Witches who had an obvious aversion to the Nightsisters. Darth Sidious and Tyranus kept going back to Dathomir for apprentices, probably because people attuned to the Dark Side of the Force don't need to be convinced to join their cause. We also shouldn't overlook the fact that Palpatine's design has always made him look like a warlock. His decrepit appearance, robe, hood, cackle, and walking stick scream warlock--the man shoots lighting from his fingertips like a witch/warlock casting spells; they use a lot of hands and fingers! Star Wars Rebels went out of their way to show us Palpatine using what looked like a witch's cauldron when he found Ezra in the World Between Worlds! With the Jedi hoarding all known knowledge of the Force and locking it behind lock and key on Coruscant in the Jedi Temple, the Sith weren't exactly in the position to choose how they acquired Force knowledge. The fact that witchcraft has an affinity to the Dark Side was just an added bonus. Personally, I think last week's episode coupled with what we learned from The Bad Batch and the prequels, is trying to tell us how Darth Plagueis learned how to manipulate the Force to create life, though I don't think that's how he planned to use it. Giving Shmi a child just because doesn't sound like a Sith thing to do, you know? What was Palpatine's aim in the prequel? I don't think it was just revenge for the Sith, that was a bonus. Palpatine wanted the knowledge the Jedi hid from the galaxy. Palpatine screwed up and he needed to fix it! I believe he killed his master before learning how to escape death. Palpatine is an old man who has already lived half of his life, and I think he wants to do what his master never had the chance to do, which is to transfer his essence into a vessel of Force. Anakin wasn't supposed to develop into the person he became, he was Plagueis' new lease on life, a new and more powerful skin. With Plagueis' secrets lost to Palpatine, he had no choice but to ad-hock his way to everlasting life with Kamino's cloning technology, but as we have seen in several stories now, it isn't impossible to create a vessel of the Force with the midichlorian count Palpatine desires, but cloning is all he's got. He's got to try. I mean, his lease on life was coming to an end. The best his team of cloners were able to do was create that decaying vessel dependent on the life support system it we saw in The Rise of Skywalker. Speaking of the Rise of Skywalker, I think we're missing a story, one that Dave Filoni might add to. Somewhere along the way, it would appear that Palpatine did manage to replicate Plagueis' technique! But something happened: the host fled and spirited the child away before Palpatine could transfer his essence into her unborn child. Rey's flashbacks show that someone (bounty hunter?) caught up with her parents, but they failed as Rey escaped, though her family did not, which explains why she saw nobody; her family died before she could bond with them. I think Rey is Anakin 2.0, not the child of a clone, but a child created the exact same way Anakin was and for the exact same purpose. Someone/something (the Force) got in the way of the Dark Lord's plans, allowing the child to grow into her own person, like Anakin before her. I don't think that vision Rey saw of herself with a red lightsaber was her, but Palpatine in his new skin, a possible future; the future that could have been had she accepted Palpatine's offer. Had she accepted his offer, I think he would have transferred his essence into her, not his power. I think he hoped to do the same with Ben earlier, but Ben couldn't let go of the Light Side of the Force and that kept Palpatine at bay all these years. Anyway, this is what I've been thinking about since the end of last week's episode. Now I want to know who's Mae's master. Is Qimir the master, playing the bumbling sidekick in the same way Palpatine did when Obi-Wan and Anakin were saving him from Grievous or is Mae and Qimir's master actually on Khofar with them? I cannot wait to see next week's episode! What a shock it was to see Ki-Adi-Mundi in this episode! Especially since it was he who told us that the Sith hadn't been seen for millennia in The Phantom Menace. He appeared to believe his words, while Mace and Yoda looked at each other as though was was said wasn't exactly true. Oh! Did this episode also give us Plo Koon too?!
@smolsfamilyreactions5 ай бұрын
One can only hope that the story we're being told by Lucasfilm is this well thought out! I can definitely see the perspective that the Sith learned the power from the witches. However my head canon and years of fandom want to lean toward the Sith being well more established in their power, even if has been lost or hidden for centuries. And in this case the Sith are trying to reconnect with thr dark side to perfect this power so they can get their revenge on the Jedi. And the witches, in their demise and needs, are the perfect conduit to start reestablishing their dark side connection. But either perspective is solid storytelling. And we will need to see if Ki-Adi Mundi actually sees or becomes aware of a Sith at some point! Let's see where it goes. As always...thanks for your comments!!

It always cracks me up when people have nothing better to do than trash on someone else's opinion. You don't have to agree, but at least provide your own thought-out comment on why you don't like the show. B- through the first three episodes for me, and probably back to a straight B after this one. I thought this was the strongest episode so far, and nothing particularly significant happened until the last 3 minutes. Biggest disappointment is the lack of time they've spent diving into Sith lore, which felt like part of the pitch for the show to me. I also don't think they've given the series' protagonists nearly enough to do so far. Jecki, Osha, and Sol need WAYYY more screentime and story beats.

I mean, Mae has been/is going down the dark side path. Which isn't me saying he is whoever ignited that red blade. Because that's a bit to obvious to be true I think. I also don't even think that whoever it is is the actual Master. Simply the apprentice.

First, Lord Yord will never get old! 😂 Soooo last week I almost commented but felt like I had nothing really positive to add as far as the overall episode, the writing, the acting, set design... you name it I just wasn't really feeling it. This week is almost similar but with added bonus of this episode feeling like it's the second 1/2 or the 1/3 act of episode 3. Which could've been edited down, with a few scenes removed and just made episode 3 longer. I still believe they should've dropped all 8 episodes. Here's the main issue for me. This show feels like a pitch for an idea for a Star Wars show that's not complete and is still in its rough draft. Or an idea for a movie. The editing and abrupt endings in these episodes are weird. I saw a short video on KZbin with Leslie Headland (who's extremely talented) talk about her pitch to Kathleen Kennedy for the show. She had an idea for a time period that would allow her to tell a new story, giving her the freedom to tell that story with a "nuanced" perspective for the jedi. That pitch sounds cool, but your script better be tight and also work within that lore. Also, with a Disney budget and risks you're taking with a show like this, the set design also needs to match that ambition and not look like a cosplay contest at a comic con convention. I remember listening to Tony Gilroy on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast talk about his process and preparation in making Andor. Mainly the homework he did before writing it. Combining not only Star Wars lore but also world history and the various revolutions and uprisings in our history. He emphasized wanting to get it right and making it make sense on a grounded level. This show almost feels like, out of a bag of different/ bad Star Wars pitches, that included Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, Headland's Acolyte got picked like Star Wars roulette/ bingo. Why do I find myself just rambling and asking the question WHY? after these episodes 😂😂, not a good sign Disney+ This show isn't terrible. I think there are Star Wars shows that have been worse or on par. Like I said at the beginning, there's an idea for a show here that feels like it still needs to be worked out or at the very least edited down to make possibly 3-4 solid episodes or maybe even a movie. I am interested to see where we are headed for the second half of this series now that our dark force antagonist has floated in, I'm Mary Poppins Y'all! At this point in the story, there's no excuse for the pacing to not pickup. PS... Master Sol continues to be what I most look forward to watching! Here's that Leslye Headland pitch short vid. kzbin.info3ZFlDvfEWZo?si=mAWvxRne2mMeUOkR

So, Ki Adi Mundi knew that the Dark Side was in action 80 years ago and that many Jedi Masters died and he lied in the counsil, so Qui Gon Jinn ran into a trap and died and could not train Anakin, so Ki Adi is to blame for all what happend? So the revenge of the force was to end Ki Adi through Oder 66 because he is to blame in the end for his death,too... So, Darth Jar Jar is a lie but it was Darth Mundi all along🤣😂😃 Qimir is the guy under the mask maybe ( it was a hand of a man). But no matter who is under the mask, this Drak Side user is the REAL Acolyte and serves a secret Sith Lord. And a witch is 100% involved because in the trailer we see witches and Kelnacca with black eyes. A witch must have taken control but it must not be the Acolyte or a Sith. Maybe the same witch made a deal with the Sith Lord, too ? Maybe he helped in creating the twins and Mother Koral had to serve him? My funny theories. Greetings from Germany❤

Don't sweat it in the trailers there is an image clearly a flashback of The Wookie Jedi lunging with his lightsaber fully ignited at master Torvin that is most probably how he got the scar on his face . I believe the final reveal is going to be that it is OSHA who started the fire, not Mae and that Master Sol use avJedi mind trick to wipe her memory to ease her trauma. I believe that the witches refuse to turn over OSHA and they decided to use Force to take her and the witches use their powers to possess the Jedi to attack one another and something went down and all hell broke loose! Remember when you were young and first saw Star Wars, I do it was the first movie I was able to see as a kid on my own when movies cost $3 in 1977 and I spent my allowance again and again going to watch Star Wars. I remember seeing the commercial on television and seeing that lightsaber ignited in Obi-Wan's Hut and that is where my love is Star Wars began and although nobody in Star Wars looked like me I was still able to enjoy it but when I did finally see Master Windu I saw representation that I hadn't seen until then,so today you can have Asians, gay people and young African-American girls seeing themselves in Star Wars and relate to characters the same way you did and so many others who saw themselves in Luke. And they will form a love of Star Wars as you did as a child. This is clearly not the best Star Wars up until this point anyway but it's also not the worst and it doesn't destroy Star Wars or ruin it because of Kathleen Kennedy and quote feminism .I'm looking forward to the lightsaber duel that's coming up cuz a bunch of those red shirts those Jedi we've never seen before they're going bye-bye! So I like you will reserve my judgment until the series is over. But I can say definitively this doesn't ruin in any shape or form my love of Star Wars. When I go back and look at the original series I can be critical of the special effects clearly seeing that these are models in the let's face it poor quality or let's say Limited lightsaber fights, I don't let Nostalgia blind me to all of the flaws in the original series, that once again I still enjoy, but there are others who prefer the prequels that a lot of people also ragged on and believe it or not everybody does not hate the last trilogy there's some people who actually prefer that it all depends on your subjective point of view and what time in life you became a Star Wars fan, because again the Star Wars fan base is incredibly diverse and the only thing that all Star Wars fans have in common is complaining about something in Star Wars !!Yet when I see the word woke or soy boy or Disney shill, or they use the words token white man, or freaking out and about them using pronouns ,I generally can tell what the racial makeup ,the sex and the sexual orientation and political leanings of that particular individual are. That's not to say that every criticism or everybody who doesn't like this is somehow a bigot, but the vast majority of haters are let's shall we say from a particular demographic! So I'm glad that you have an open mind, and are willing to give the show a chance. If the next four episodes are bangers then we can look back at this and simply say the first four or Slow Burn to lay the grounds of the mystery, fingers crossed that'll be the case!

I'm feeling pretty much the same way you are about this show atm - not enough to get excited but willing to see out the season before judging its overall impact. This, for me, was the weakest episode so far because it was pure filler - just a journey ep that ended in a scene already partially-shown in the trailer (and a disappointingly premature death of a much-hyped character). Going to need a ramping up in quality in the second half of this season to make it worth the budget. Thanks for being honest with your opinions!

I think we may have just gotten an explanation for why the Jedi thought the Sith has been extinct for so long during the prequel era. In this episode, while discussing who Mae is work with, they don't even consider the Sith. Maybe they end up fighting a sith without being aware that it's ansotht, coming away assuming it is just some random dark side user.

Exactly. Everyone assuming this breaks the lore, especially with Ki-Adi-Mundi being there. But he's not on the mission, and they all seem to think this is just a rogue Jedi. We don't know who will survive the encounter, what they will report, or what will be believed.

The show is good..I'm baffled about how this "ruins" Anakin..but the story isn't finished telling it's point yet😅

Hate how Disney keeps breaking up the stories into unnecessary short episodes. Give us longer episodes. These short episodes gives the viewer more time to notice how absolutely awful the writing and directing is. Even Days of our Lives has better writing. It's impressive how this show keeps getting worse each episode.

There are definitely aspects of the writing and pacing that are not good. They can and should do much better. But I think it's on par with the other most recent stuff Disney has put out. Definitely not better and not really worse.
