You're not wrong. That was Darth Plagueis, known for being a Muun. Which also ties nicely with the origins of the girls, aka creating life. For Osha, that was actually nice. She saw the future. Her future, not Mae's. And it came true. Honestly I expected a bit more of Plagueis in the end. But I must admit they did some good stuff in the show. First time cortosis on screen, first time bleeding crystal on screen.

It is clear that they planned a second season all along. For me it is worth, but the decision probably depends on how much Disney think it can give them $ in return. If they will decide to skip it, I beg for comics or books or whatever that will continue.

Five or six years ago, the comics established as canon that the Sith bleed their Kyber crystals to turn them red through the dark side of the force. That was a significance of that changing color, she bled the crystal.

Hopefully they explain the Qimirs apprenticeship under venestra. Hopefully we get it in one of the last high republic books. And hopefully a duel between them in a season 2. That battle would be legendary.
