Whenever I see these live action 6-8 epsidode series, I'm always brought back to Star Wars Rebels and how every episode of that series was tight. By the time you finish an episode of Rebels in the same time as these series you'd have had an amazing adventure in itself, a full background exploration for one of the characters, multiple action sequences, and a tease or furtherance of the main overall plot. For some reason in live action Star Wars series, they love for episodes to be mostly empty of plot, action, and driving story beats, to the point where I'd rather they just keep doing animated series because they're always bangers

I was so excited for the Acolyte. And then I could barely make it through the first two episodes. Nothing clicked for me. The wooden acting. The twins (c'mon, Disney, enough of this plot device), the terrible writing. I have not watched any of the other episodes, but I love Star Wars, so recaps here are good. Hope this season redeems itself. I would love a proper evil Star Wars villain that is never redeemed - which is what I thought this series would be.

the hands together thing from Dragon Ball is the epic Ki attack called the "Kamehameha" it is an energy attack that is capable of destroying planets so it can be equivalent to the power of a death star based on the user haha. Anyways in Dragon Ball they can do Ki pushes which is similar to force pushes in Star Wars.

So... Green lady and Trinity are the big villains of the show? Green lady is clearly trying to cover up the events, and is probably somehow responsible for Smylo Ren (as evidenced by his whiplash scars). And the only way I can make sense of the witches thing, is that Trinity and her apprentice Torbin were responsible for the deaths of the witches. That way, Mae is redeemable as she only killed the evil Jedi, and the guilty padawan killed himself. And it's like... who cares about any of this, because who cares about these random characters?

To be fair to the Jedi investigating the scene, I think she was using some form of Pyschometry to get a better understanding of what happened as it was clear to her, probably unfathomable to the Padowan, that a Lightsaber was used to kill these Jedi.

He helped the witches create the twins...when the Jedi showed up...he killed them (the witches)...either Sol or that green whip woman were involved or maybe both of them. One of the few things enjoyable about this show is trying to speculate on all of the unanswered questions and plot lines.

I loved the clarification and revisiting on your thoughts on Episode 5. While the last episode was refreshing with the combat and bold decisions of killing off named characters, the series as a whole so far has been frustrating, to say the least. I agree with many of your sentiments in this video. This episode was noticeably slower and Osha and Mae have completely lost my interest which is a shame considering they're the lead characters. Qimir has become vastly more interesting with the mystery of his backstory and Sol is still a favorite. There's not much room left for the series to improve in my opinion. But at least we'll have the complete picture in a couple of weeks.

Listen carefully to when she said get the bodies, it's obviously recorded later it sounds off. Sol not being able to recognize her as not OSHA it's like what kind of Jedi is he. I'm basically just watching others reactions now the show is hard to watch. Cortosis is from the EU cutting off power but he can use his welder on the helmet and it won't cut it off.

Reel rejects, kyle katarn, catherine lasalle, louisejulie, are just amongst the many channels i used to love. Channels which clearly sold out to disney. They all make the same points, which are ofcourse random or straight up wrong/invalid. They all dismiss the accusations the same way, they all throw shade, and hate. The kicker? After this episode, they are all pretending the Acolyte is great now, that it's even better than the original trilogy. Here’s my theory he was a Jedi that his master Jedi felt the dark side in him and pushed him aside. He went and trained himself in the arts of the Darkside, probably by reading books or some shit he found now he wants apprentice to do the rule of two I think towards the end the real sit Lord will show up kill Qamir and all the people that saw him or anybody that’s there. He will clean it up and I think he will defeat sol he will use his force powers to clean swipe sol memories And make it look like sol went rogue and killed the Jedi and that’s how they will clear up any sith be involved

It’s frustratingly bad. When did Sol realize it wasn’t Osha with him? Why does he even assume Osha is alive to rescue, given “the enemy” was aboard his ship in her place? Why does he assume Smilo Ren is alive, and that he hasn’t already killed Osha? Why did the beaver not immediately tell Sol? Osha cared for all of those Jedi that died - why on earth would she even listen to a word Smilo is saying, let alone get swayed by it. My god, it’s just so, SO bad… and the only people capable of acting are Sol and Smilo’s actors. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The writers are unfortunately unable to write subtly, so if something is intentionally SHOWN and too obvious, it's gonna happen. We see the green emotionless shady Jedi Master whom doesn't want to inform the High Council use a WHIP SABER (also the Moth just attacks her out of the blue, in the daylight, with no light to bait it, just to force that plot point to happen...), cut to Smilo Ren and he obviously has a huge scar on his back that looks like it can have been made from a WHIP. HMMMMMMM

You are spot on, Last episode (5) was better, but because you weren't invested in the characters due to episodes 1-4 being so bad...it made it hard to enjoy episode 5 as everything feels off. Also the primary appeal was more about the shock factor of some key characters dying. I wish Mae/Osha had a different actress, the show would be considerably more drawing. That being said I do like Master Sol and kinda like the Sith guy...but even they have had some really bad writing/lines. I am right with you on it doesn't feel like Star Wars, the heart and soul is missing....I am however trying to be objective, it's just so bad in parts. I however will never get over "Attack me with all your strength" "What will you do? I'll kill you" "The power of maaaany" amongst other terrible lines.

This episode may not have been amazing by any means but I do have to give props to Manny Jacinto for playing that "Smilo-Ren" character as an actor you can definitely tell he's got good skills and I did also like him from his last TV show The Good Place it was really funny. Hopefully they can come up with something decent for the finale.
