My review of the third episode: What an incoherent mess. These witches were expelled from somewhere and almost became extinct until Aniseya used the Force to implant twins in Coril’s womb? Let's ignore the fact that Anakin was unique in this regard and created by the Force itself, and not by the Sith, no one told them that children can be made much easier? If Coryl gave birth to them, why are they human and not zabraks? By the way, the actresses are obviously not twins, but this way you can at least tell them apart... Why do they hunt with a bow and arrow, but at the same time they have electronic doors and children know how to short-circuit wires? Why didn't they delay Ascension until the Jedi left? If you decide to lie that there are no children here, why insert before that “we are not part of the Republic”? Why not take the children to the bedroom where they won’t be seen? Why didn’t Aniseya simply refuse the Jedi to conduct the test, if she so doesn’t want to let Osha go, why hypnosis right away? Do you seriously think that an 8-year-old child should decide his own destiny? Why are you holding a meeting if Aniseya decided for everyone anyway? Osha, do you seriously think the Jedi will believe that you mistook a rabbit for a ship? May, if you don't want to lose your sister, WHY KILL HER? THE OUTCOME IS THE SAME! Why is there a secret hole in the room wide enough for a child? How did the fire engulf the entire stone house so quickly and what exploded there? Why did the rest of the witches die, their bodies unharmed? What was May trying to achieve by grabbing Osha’s hands? How did she survive? Why didn't the Jedi check who was alive? They can't put out fires with the Force like Vader? Overall, May is a stupid bitch who is ready to kill her sister just not to give her to the Jedi, who killed her entire family and blames the Jedi for this. I thought there couldn’t be worse than Reva’s motivation, but they outdid her.

The only writer you can ever trust is a writer who is hugely critical of their own work and while this might sound utterly stupid, it makes a whole lot of sense. I have been fiddling with everything within my own story since I started the first draft, changing, editing, removing, altering, studying a thesaurus like it's my own personal bible and while I'm happy enough with most of it, I still glare at certain sections, going how I can you better, why aren't you flowing as well as I want you too. What's a better way to describe this? Does this dialogue need to be tighter? A good writer is ultimately an unhappy one. A bad writer is happy with whatever they write. Disney is definitely the second of the two. None of their original works would get past a half decent publishing company... well maybe nowadays it would but back in the 90's and earlier. Not a god dam chance.

Even after sequel trilogy being absolute clusterf*ck, even after the abomination that is kenobi, people... had hope. I imagine Andor did the best it could to keep that hope alive. Stellar show on it's own, that doesn't rely on SW as a cultural thing. But now, it's dead for sure. You can no longer pretend there's any hope. You would just look stupid, as if implying the sky is vibrant orange color, and not blue. This is why i LOVE Acolyte. I genuinely thankful that it made it into release. Because now, with this direct and basic assassination of the very foundation of SW, there's no more hope. And that's good. Because hope is a poisoned well Disney used against people for far, far too long.

51:37 The main criticism I have of this scene is the tone the crazy hyena laugh out of nowhere creates. Here’s the coven leader talking about how their people were nearly hunted to extinction. Grim stuff. One would expect a solemn tone as they contemplate all those they have lost. Instead, out of nowhere, one of their members starts cackling. What is going on? Is she… aroused by the idea of her own extinction? Does she think it’s funny? Was SHE the one who committed the genocide all along and she’s laughing that these dumb witches haven’t discovered her? What am I meant to feel from this scene? And I know that certain cultures, especially alien and fantasy cultures can express grief in different ways. And one of the fantasy ways of expressing grief could very well be by making sounds that seem like laughing to us, but which are expressions of anguish to them. The problem is that the show has done NOTHING to communicate that this deranged sound she is making has anything to do with mourning. Instead, the audience is left completely confused.

The commitment required to be a Jedi Knight is also why the council was hesitant to accept Anakin as a Padawan. Most Jedi are raised from a very young age to be Jedi, meaning it's all they've ever known making it a lot harder for them to walk away. Them accepting OSHA at her age was against their rules for the very reason that she's already formed attachments to a previous life that make it easier to quit. They wanted her to be like Anakin but didn't realize how silly that is considering the rules the Jedi have. It took Obi-Wan threatening to quit for them to agree, and he was the chosen one! There's no way in hell they would've accepted OSHA just cuz Sol said so.

I think a reason as to why concepts of commitment is so lost on these people is that many of them lack it, fear it, scorn it, or otherwise reject it. It is like someone who has never met a devout person watch a televangelist and think that is devotion, as they swiftly click past to the next channel. Commitment to a higher calling than living for oneself is daunting and it requires a level of faith - regardless of your endeavors - to take each uncertain step. These writers have been handed unearned rewards and I believe even they do not believe in their work and some their very selves - and THAT is why they will always fail to produce something authentic.

It is fascinating to me that so many Disney writers do the whole "Oh this sounds cool" in dialogue or "Oh this makes good plot point, I'll just force that in" without you know stopping and going wait a minute does this work? Like the witches in Ep3 have moments where you take the words in isolation and they might make for a good line but you put them all together and holy fuck it's contradiction central. Than you have plot points in EP 1 where you can tell the writer is like OH I want to keep the mystery of the twins secret (btw murder mysteries call that a mortal sin for a good fcking reason even though it was blatantly obvious) but anyway the far better thing would have been the assassin completely masked rather than showing her face at all, why an assassin is showing her face at all is screwed. Assassins do not care for fair play and their identity being a secret is top priority. Also the whole the Jedi live in a dream where weapons can't kill them... instead of like trying to kill them without one isn't the better way to shatter the dream to like kill them with a weapon to prove them wrong? WTF kind of drugs is her master on or has he been wearing that helmet too long?

So about using the force in the early rant: Jedi teachings forbid wounding directly using the force, you are supposed to use it to unbalance, hold and confine when using it offensively, and when it comes to defence, protecting yourself and others with basically barriers. Wounding using the force is the dark side, basically sith powers. so thats why shes not crushing the girl using the force... but shes a master, she should be able to protect the entire room without sweating, because the opponent is not using the force.

My theory for how the witches died is that the "Many," thing refers to how they're all connected, meaning that if one dies, they all die, hence why they mentioned going extinct. We don't see that one mother in the pile of bodies. So, my theory is that she encountered the Jedi, fought them, lost, and when she died all of the witches that did the ritual died with her, which is what the Jedi feel guilty about. Oh yeah, and our smiling friend will probably be revealed to be a woman.

I know I said I was done with this after ep02, but I had to see ep03 based on the reports. What in the holiest of fucks was that? The biggest sin in this episode was the idea that there were two other people created via the force. Great Job, Leslye, you managed to destroy George's legacy by conducting the ultimate sin, by destroying the prophecy of the chosen one. It had been established many times that Anakin was the one created by manipulation of the force, via Palpatine. Now, though? The force can be used to make a new virgin birth at any time. Add to that the contradiction that the Jedi would want these twins to begin with since they are too old to be trained. According to the original E.U., the Jedi mainly took children into the order shortly after birth. Anakin was a rare exception. This is supposed to be over 100 years before Anakin, and the girls are about the same age as he was in "The Phantom Menace." On a final note. When it comes to diversity, I don't inherently care if someone's a different race or sex in media, as long as you can act and the characters are more than their diversity, I'm all good. This show, along with other forced diverse crap, isn't going to do diverse people any favors in the long run. It's creating the image that someone is inherently good at everything based on their diversity alone. This is a complete insult to actual diversity, if you ask me.

The monolugue about the Jedi fighting for peace, and peace being a "delusion/illusion" is also a problem with the writing. Is fighting for peace really a reason to conspire to help kill that person fighting for said peace? Are the trying to pin the jedi as having the crime of being deluaional for wanting said peace? And no further elaboration as to what actions they took that may warrent their deaths? No, because this show wants to subvert the jedi and just plays on the assumption that they are bad. And this is without saying anything about why this guy wants to help kill the jedi, or what killing the jedi would get him. Barely anyone in this show has a core motive outside of fighting because they plot set them up to have to fight

Given her body of work, nothing in it tells you she should or could write something that fits into the Star Wars Universe as her interest are completely different from most anything written in Star Wars. All of that aside, the real issue with this show, and in my opinion with almost all current day disney/marvel/ and other modern day shows is the creators/writers have one thing in common, extreme Narcissism. What I mean by this is they believe what they are writing is great and is without reproach and everyone around them seemingly agrees and will never question what is there. This also is why they struggle to write nuances in human interaction. I assume it's lack of struggle or lack of life experiences on their part, who knows. They will literally state something bluntly to you as the audience because they don't know how to show it. They lack these social skills as their group often does nothing but agrees or goes along with them that they can't write what they don't understand. Their writing identifies literally, as an example character is a lesbian, she has a wife. They love each other, so we get a hand touch, or a slight stare into the eyes. Without understanding relationships are deeper then the puddle they show. But because it's what they think it is, they lack understanding that there needs to be more. They focus more on being specific things, I won't call it a checklist but they absolutely feel that way at times, you are this and this. How or why doesn't matter, we made this you. So that is all. That isn't how you create characters in a story or a work of media. They need to understand their needs to be more then I am a lesbian, or I am strong, I am serious, or I am funny. They got to show a little more. Maybe just maybe this issue is due to time constraints, so things happen, characters do because we must get to next point but that makes what looks like a possible idea into a mess and completely stupid. Since I have no ranted too much because as a writer I am constantly struggling with modern media to find something I enjoy as nothing causes my mind to wonder or be intrigued, its paint by the numbers boring, and so obvious that I know what will happen before the first half of an episode ends and I know whether or not I will bother to watch more or read more, its absurd. the final issue is this, they can't tell the difference between a fan fiction and cannon work. They are guest in the star wars lore, they don't think they are, they lack the respect due to their narcissistic views and think I can make it better now that I am here. Thats not how writing works when you are in another persons world. I write fanfiction, I know its not cannon, and its purely designed as a vanity project for me to enjoy and maybe some of my friends. Certainly not something I would try and pass off into the actual created world. I mean these creators don't research or do any due diligence to try and fit into the worlds as they show nine out of ten they don't know the world to begin with. They just go what I am doing is better and its why so many IP's get ruined as these people are trying to stand out and claim greatness of their own instead of wanting to create something that would be memorable and loved by the fan bases of the ip's they are creating in. But what do I know, I am constantly frustrated by writers in this day where they do things that undermine their writing. From making their mc seem perfect, without understanding flaws are important to show growth, something to attach too, relate too from the viewer. To making antagonist at times complete idiots so they can get to where they want without going. Maybe I could write this different so I don't undermine my main antagonist to make them go from being a threat. To why did we ever think they were a threat. The worse issue is you can write/direct whatever you want if it's your own creation. I have less irritation as I go it was your artistic intention. I don't like it, but I respect it, but when you play in another worlds IP, especially iconic ones like Star Wars, Tolkien's, Marvel, DC, and other ilks. Don't disrespect the audience of these IP's by basically telling them in your writing/direction that you know better, that they are dumb, and they didn't know what they liked to begin with. I got way off track here as this is one of my biggest gripes in modern media and writings. These are all my opinions, but writing is my passion and when I see it done horribly in a way that is blatantly obvious it's hard for me to just shut up and consume. I appreciate you being candid, it's nice hearing someone who understands some of the things I feel toward current day programming.

a hour and a half rant about a terrible star wars show? its not even july yet it feels like Christmas already. this is the best star wars (excluding andor) can do now, make everything else outside of star wars far more entertaining. I went to school for the wrong degree. 25 million dollars an episode to make a show that drops the ball, constantly. long gone are the days where you have actors and directors going above and beyond for their art, living pieces of it just to make it reality instead its just...this. something that seems like it was written in a crame session the night before exam day. where basic logic and polish is out the window. where your characters forget to act even freaken human. this is modern star wars Now a few in lore star wars critisms this show violates, no the jedi do not have a monopoly on the force and they know that as the force connects all life, expect for a race of anarchist hellbent and ending the universe be we don't talk about them as long as disney doesn't touch them. and not all life are jedi, the force existed before the jedi and it will after them. yes sith uses weapons to kill jedi all the time, in fact they invented a very powerful weapon that is able to burn through swords and armor just for this purpose back when the jedi were using primative bladed weapons. you might have heard of it, its called the lightsaber. often times, sith have to craft their own saber from artificial means such as alchemy or they steal a jedi's saber and corrupt it. but the point is that weapons are often the literal sith answer to a lot of their problems they even use the force as a weapon. i find it very strange we don't see any force choking at all...its only one of the most useful skills a sith can employ with the force and doesn't require advanced training to do like say the force lightening normally does. its not like darth vader invented the technique in fact it was used on him plenty of times before he became vader so...yeah... Yes jedi will totally use lightsabers against unarmed opponents, their job is to subdue threats and preserve peace and that can be achieve through ignition of a saber not at first chance but in defense of themselves and others. especially since even before disney entered the scene lightsabers in the hands of a master was not an automatic death sentence but it was a pretty much assurance of the fights end. expect for a race of anarchist be we don't talk about them

If this whole thing is just to say why the Jedi have all the rules they do, it is revisionist and makes no sense. Like you are telling me that the Jedi are already at that point established, well known and already have a procedure and ties to the governement, but these 2 girls are the ONLY instance of this happening. The only ones? Also, it doesnt make any sense for that to be the case cause Mae isnt a Jedi and they didnt care about her anyways so why would rules be brought about by Osha? She didnt seem to harbor anything against the Jedi and if anything both girls would have issues with the Jedi killing their family(dont know the deets but they seem to want to make the Jedi the bad guys in this series, per their words, so thats probably what happened) not BEING in the order as children. So the story doesnt ecen work to actually explain that and no amount of addendums will make it make sense cause Osha and Mae arent children, Osha quite years ago with no issue and Mae hates them for killing her family not feom her being in the order

I would argue about it being impossible to be disciplined and fat, but the main point is it should be impossible to be discipline and fat, when your job is physical. You're a chemist who spends all your time in a lab, not really doing anything physically but dealing with things that could kill you if mess up, but you're super focused, remember all the safety rules and follow them without fail. Super disciplined, could also be fat. You're a Jedi, where you need to be a peacekeeper and warrior... how are you fat if you're not skipping your training? Not to mention Jedi are basically monks, so ascetics is a primary discipline of them, which usually means a lack of excess food, and food that isn't healthy.

I thought the show was ok. I like seeing a different side of things. Everything we've ever been told has come from a jedi's point of view, always making themselves look like the heroes. And why wouldn't they have their own interpretation of the force? Why would everybody in the galaxy see the force the same and talk about it the same? We don't even do that on one planet let alone however many there are in the galaxy

Than ı reccommend you to read Darth Plageus novel. There is a audio ver of the novel in youtube. That novel actually is from Sith pov. And it get into great details without painting Sith into a good light. İts one of those novels where main character is pure evil(another example ı can give is Dio novel from Jjba, where its explain the events from Dio's pov). This show did not utulized this aspect. And just tries to be morally gray for sake of it. Also, diffrent force factions with diffrent view on the force are exist in Legends. Jedi left them alone to their own devices.

The only way to be fat and disciplined is to be a sumo wrestler and even then most of that fat isn't real fat they have muscles and they train
