This product looks amazing! I'm mostly worried about overheating, especially during long daytime time-lapse periods. It's interesting to note that the test with and without the camera box was only a few minutes, but I wonder how it would perform with various environmental, climate, and condition variables. Additionally, I'm curious to know if using this product would affect the camera's warranty.

The Action 4 will not fit tightly in this one as it’s designed specifically for the GoPro Hero 9-12. However, I do see the inventory mention that he may also design ones for the DJI and Insta360 action cameras if this project is a success. So that is encouraging to see.

great concept, but current gopros shut down from overheating on their own without putting it into a thermal retaining container. how is any gopro going to stay on for longer than 2 min with this sleeve on it? edit:spelling

The inventor provides some data on this on his campaign page. It actually makes very little difference with the overheating. I believe something like 31 mins outside of the Action Box Cine vs 29 mins inside it. If one is using the Action Box Cine for cinematic video projects or time lapses then it is unlikely one would be filming a single continuous clip for more than a few minutes a time. Time lapses of course are one frame every few seconds at minimum and overheating is basically zero risk for time lapses.

Can the Neewer Anamorphic lens be used with the Action Box Cine? I will also be attaching a wireless lav receiver to the Action Box Cine. Can that be done? And I can hook it up with the GP mic adapter piece? Sorry for all the questions. New to GP.

A fan would be cool, but I understand why it doesn’t have one. I am sure that would add quite a bit to the cost and would require power via an external battery. I expect most using this as a cinematic rig would not need to record long-duration clips and would likely be recording a series of shorter duration clips. Overheating will only potentially take place with long duration clips.

I just know there are a lot of people looking to keep their GoPro from overheating filming baseball, fishing, etc. I use mine for auto racing, cycling and hiking, so rarely have an issue. Plus, I must say, personally I like the look of lens flare. The ND filters are really cool though. 😊

@mitchlewis535 That’s a fair point. Yes, there are times when I like the flare if it is intentionally and precisely done but most of the time it occurs in my footage when I don’t want it to 😂

I’m not sure about this one. I don’t think the GoPro needs any help overheating I just recently sold my Hero 12 and bought the Action4 and I am not looking back.

The inventor did a test with his GoPro and found that it overheated within 29 minutes inside the Action Box Cine vs 31 minutes outside of the Action Box Cine. The inventor of this product also states that he may work on one of these for the Osmo Action and Insta360 cameras in the future if this project is successful.
