Amazing in concept and design only if only the fight matched the look, cause I sure do LOVE sweeping beams that change speed at random and are almost impossible to dodge and unavoidable trips at every waking moment of the hunt

For me the best elders are the ones who remained grounded instead of leaning too far realistic or too far fantasy. Namielle bases her design on the already really exotic deep sea fish, especially with the bioluminescence thing. She feels more incorporated and thought out. That’s where monsters like Nerg or Teostra loose out for me. Removed from monster hunter sure they look cool and have good fights, but they don’t put themselves in the world. Eating elder dragons and being belligerent isn’t really as involved a role as Vaal for instance, who plays a major part in the vale with his attachment to the effluvium. I get that everyone likes different monsters for different reason, and more power to you, but for me the actual sense of being a part of the ecosystem is most important, rather than sitting on top of it.

Zorah magdaros was meant to show you the guiding lands map. You pushed her back into the ocean and she became the guiding lands. You can actually see her skull in the guiding lands if you look.

Where was this stated? Like no the Zorah we fight doesn't become the guiding lands. Maybe a different Zorah in the past but it's definately not the present one

@@yourdad5799 normally would never give a different content creators any time on someone else's chat but they can answer the lore questions better than me. Rage gaming has vids on this subject and they can show you where the actual skull is and explain it. It's common knowledge though that Capcom has always incorporated dead elder dragons into their map creation as a Easter egg. The rotten vale is actually the skeleton of the dalamadur in world.

@@yourdad5799 they simply could answer your questions. However if you played iceborne from it's release you would actually know. It's how it was rolled out, how zorah doesn't die immediately after you kill it, how you can actually beat her without even fighting her, it's the introduction of nergegante, how the original guiding lands only had three areas, and the rest were added as she died, and your master rank 100 break is to kill nergagante, I can actually only state the obvious, they have the actual lore and connections in Capcom.

Lunastra is my least favorite. My main weapon is the switch axe, and as one may guess positioning and dodging with proper positioning is king. Lunastra throws that out the window. The amount of times I've been suddenly nova'd only to either run into a puddle that was RNGd or get launched into it, is very little fun. Same goes for that damn directional Nova. Especially when Iceborne Luna was glitched so the directional nova was all she did, or she just hated me personally

The only thing that sucks about Safi is the timer. I get that it's a siege event but man not even 30 mins? As someone who prefers to play either solo or with RL friends, I gave up on getting Safi's gear long time ago.

I feel like putting both versions of Vaal together is doing it an injustice. Regular Vaal is much more interesting in terms of a fight and design than blackveil and that annoying field of damage stuff. Other than that, 100% agree on Namielle and Kushala placements (thank god Rise fixed Kushala and made it actually pretty enjoyable to fight)

I have not hunted most of these. The first one you covered was fun the first time I fought it. Then became grindy on followup times I hunted the thing. In multiplayer there seems to be two types of hunts. Those where the host does not know where to go which are awful. Then, there are the ones where you join and get to use cannons against the thing. I can not place this monster in F tier in all cases. I would say solo/multiplayer type 1/multiplayer type 2 are F/F/C.

Agree with a lot but 2 huge disagreements I HATE SAFI thats it, I find it to be the most boring fight ever, even rock shara ishvalda is funnier to me than hitting a hand for 25 minuts with perma AOE and frustrating explosions On the other hand, I too have a huge disagreement witj Behemoth, while I despise Extremoth because cancelling Tornadoes isnt available, I find Behemoth really interesting in terms of fight, the ultimate is absolutely magnificent, OST is cracked, design is great and physic atttacks are imo well executed and terryfing at the same time Big S for (also soloing Behemoth was one og the hardest challenge I had to do) Speaking of a hard challenge, I truly believe that Ancient Leshen is the most impossible fight of the entire game, I only took down this thing with 4 players filled with MR stuff Never beaten this thing pre-Iceborne, hits so hard, terrifying AOEs I genuilely think Fatalis would be Elementary School compared to MR Ancient Leshen or is it just me?

Did you fight AT Velk? She and Fatalis are the only ones I have yet to beat, but god damn those feel like a wall. Alatreon had a much bigger timer and you can punish it very hard for a lot of moves, gotta keep trying I guess

Yea AT velkhana feels designed with fatalis gear in mind. And fatalis too suprisingly. After crafting the fatalis gear fatalis became more fun to fight.

I agree with some of your choices, but disagree with others. I mean, Vaal on C? WHAT? S-rank is great, though I'd swap Alatreon with Velkhana. Also, have you fought AT Velkh yet? Don't remember, but that hunt is almost as hard as Fatalis imo, getting oneshot from full even with a fatalis set is rough. As for Shara being so low, two words: Pierce. Bowgun. By far one of the best feelings in the whole game, shoot it and watching the dmg numbers pile up. I had a 7 minute 4 player Shara run with pierce hbg yesterday, even I was surprised from how quick it was. Agree with you on Kush, though the MR hunt is manageable with Swag Axe and ZSD spam. Kirin isn't that hard with Greatsword, and landing those TCSs feels GOOD. I'd put both it and Kulve on A, really love their designs. And I'd say Behemoth deserves at least a C or B since the hunt is such an experience with the FF music and how tough it is. Good Video though, I really enjoy watching people go through the game and hear their opinions on it

Velkhana is by far my fav monster in mhw, alatreon is 2nd and nami is prob 3rd. Over 200 hours of playtime ive hunted velk like 30 times, just because the fight feels so awesome and very fair. The design of velk is pretty cool as well. Still yet to do at version tho. Ive only slayed fatty once, and while first 2 phases I like quite alot, 3rd one felt very frustrating with all the oneshots it can do on a single mistake. Perhaps my build wasnt that good, or the fact that I decided to do him before mr100, or that I never managed to break his horns, idk. Even when I finally beat him, I got final blow with dragonator, which felt kinda disappointing. Alatreon on the other hand felt much better, its just a tough monster with a bit of gimmick, even if you make mistakes in the hunt, it doesnt just kill you in one hit (well, escaton does, but meeting the requirements for weakening him with elemental damage and breaking his horn never felt that hard compared to fatty horn break)

iirc the elder classification is not about power necessarily, but about their uniqueness to other monsters. No common ancestors, incredibly rare, travel immense distances, and the capacity to totally change the environment. Rajang might fistfight a Kirin, but Rajang isn't summoning thunderstorms wherever it goes.

I am confused why you state that your build was restricted for fatalis while you like that about alatreon. Nothing against your list, and I enjoyed the video, but I despise alatreon because it forces you to play with elemental damage while fatalis is just a tough fight, you don’t need artillery or any specific meta decorations to beat, you just have to practice. Sorry for the long paragraph, just my thoughts.

Elemental damage is one skill on your list of armor skills. Fatalis requires a bunch of skills beyond damage to survive the hunt, leaving only a few slots for QoL.

@@GiddyFoxGaming It was such a unique fight, MMO mechanics from FFXIV but done pretty solidly, challenging but fair if you are in a group. It's possible solo but definitely better to do in a group. Great soundtrack and great rewards. Pretty great package I think. Its a shame, most who play now skip it and just go straight to Iceborne but if you do it and get the Behemoth armor set, you can have a really nice start in Iceborne.

One thing I would dissagree with. Vaal Hazak... The normal one is fine. But Black Veil??? Every attack half's your health. Not very fun to play with. Normal one is fine at C-tier Black veil F-Tier.

Vaal hazaks vale is not actually part of his body it’s just part of the rotting flesh he coats himself in which it uses as camouflage in the vale so I disagree on it being to ridiculous as it’s actually it’s as grounded as much as it can be in its lore

Imo alatreon is the worst designed monster in world/iceborne. To me there’s nothing more annoying than having both of the horns being broken and it still switches active modes. I understand it’s a skill issue but to me that specific mechanic should be changed.
