Oh, how creative! I can't manage to get good results using a cookie cutter, so the idea of modeling something as complex as Cousin Faruk is beyond me. You consistently amaze...................

Oh its good to know the name. I am not sure if the guy on clayclaim ever said the name so I thought maybe he came up with it. But maybe he did mention it. Thanks so much Daniela!
@joannecarroll55046 жыл бұрын
Ara, when we make polymer clay jewellery, the blend is normally done by cutting the clay strips into triangles & reassembling a single strip from triangles & inverted triangles of opposing colours. This makes the gradient pattern more regular & repeatable. He probably did stumble across this shortcut himself, I've never seen anyone else do it without the triangles before & it's certainly quicker for one-off small pieces.
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
I would probably need to see that done to better understand the what you mean.... I can see how a more even and spread out gradient would probably need a different process!

I like him in Gomez's office. YET another amazing video! I'd been thinking of ways I could make one, but was stumped about the needle nose on the swordfish...your tutorial saved the day!!!! You're such a gifted miniaturist!
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
I am so glad it was helpful. I knew that if I made the nose out of clay I would break it within the first 5 minutes lol. And I wanted it to be good and pointy ;)

So cool!!! Soooo cool!!! I found the old episodes on Hulu I think and I added them. I used to watch them after school in middle school. 💙 I’m happy to go back and watch again with more detail to see everything you see! I do remember this though!! Thanks so much for sharing and entertaining me on a bed day! You made it fun! 💙💙

I vote for D....I'm sure he'd appreciate second hand smoke! I'm fairly new to polymer clay, but I have an idea you shouldn't use acrylic paint pre-baking, because it's water-based, and can mess up the bake. I'd say since yours and other KZbinrs clay turns out alright it's more of a risk than a hard-and-fast rule though!
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
I am pretty new to polymer clay as well so this was def an experiment. I did make sure the acrylic was dry before it went into the oven so maybe since most of the moisture had evaporated it was ok? Not sure lol. Thanks for the comment and vote!

I have been re-watching the series, and wondering, 'will Ara do Cousin Farouk? Will she do the 2 crows in the cage, or the vulture, or the polar bear skin & grizzly in the corner, or.......................LOL. I love this. great job. You could be a miniature set designer. I like option A, the living room.
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
I started rewatching the series and then got distracted by watching "Dark Shadows"! I need to get back to it and stuff as many details in as I can! Whats funny is I worked a bit in set design for a while. And I made miniature dioramas of the set design itself for a designer. It was a lot of fun!
@d2parrotperson6 жыл бұрын
Oh, I would love that job! Well, your expertise shows. When I was a kid I used to rush home every weekday to watch Dark Shadows. Gosh, a lifetime ago. That show sparked an interest in old-fashioned horror, not the newer slasher/torture stuff. Though I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead....

I voted in your poll. The piece should be hung. I feel that it would be more effective that way. Where he's located in Gomez's office seems to be the best place although, it's a little tough because you don't have any of the rooms filled.

I agree. I was sad that I didn't have time to put all the furniture in so maybe I will do another poll in the future! ;)

Hello! I recently subscribed and have a question. Which brand of chalk pastels set do you use please?
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
Hi DeAna! Welcome to my channel :) I am sorry I can't really answer your question because I have had my pastels since college and the brand label disappeared a long time ago. But I can assume it was a student grade of chalk pastel and not a professional grade. I hope that is helpful! :)

Oof. Swordfishing must be dangerous.
@joannecarroll55046 жыл бұрын
There's so much about yours that exceeds the tv studio's original - your foot is actually coming out of the mouth, but theirs is v dodgy - it looks like the mouth is closed & the foot is coming out of ts nostrils (if fish actually had nostrils). LOL. As far as placement, I think it looks cramped & cluttered in the living room by the curtains; I feel it needs a lot of space around it due to the scale (no pun intended), so I've voted for Gomez' office, but tbh, I think that in the pic of the smoking nook, the wood panel wall to the right could be spacious enough to show it off well.
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joanne! I am sure the poor prop guy was given a pre-stuffed swordfish and was told... I want you to make a foot coming out of his mouth lol!! I did make his cheeks a little puffier to make it seem like he has a mouthful . It will def make a difference with the furniture in the house but I didn't have time this week to pull it all out unfortunately. Maybe I will re-poll at a later date with the furniture in place.

I am watching through this series and commenting, and feel kinda like a dick. But, taxidermied fish are glossy. They have to seal the outer skin so it doesn't shrivel? And shiny eyes are always creepier on things. :)
