In this video, we'll explore the many advantages of a Tohatsu propane outboard boat motors and why you should consider making the switch. Propane is a cleaner-burning fuel than gasoline, which means it emits fewer pollutants into the environment. Propane is also more efficient than gasoline, which means you'll get more power and longer run times from a propane outboard motor. Additionally, propane is easier to store and transport than gasoline, with fewer concerns about spills or leaks. We'll take a closer look at these and other advantages of propane outboard boat motors, including cost savings, ease of maintenance, and more. Don't miss out on this informative video that could save you money and help protect the environment.

#20 bottles hold a little more than 4 gallons. Propane engines get terrible mileage. You might get 2 hours of leisurely puttering around the lake. Don’t open the throttle for too long. You will end up being towed in every trip. The conversion kit is kind of expensive and hope it doesn’t leak

I have a mercury 5hp propane outboard and it pushes my very heavy 13' v bottom boat and I have logged 6.5 hours of actual running time at 3/4 throttle and trolling idle and I still have a 1/2 tank (20 lb grill bottle). I think that's pretty darn good. My only complaint is my 7mph top speed.

The mileage difference is because gasoline has 120,200 BTUs of energy in a gallon while propane only has 91,400 BTUs. So instead of going 10 miles on a gallon of "fuel" you'll only go 7.6 miles when using propane. For a 5hp outboard running wide open that means instead of burning 0.5 gallons/hour, you'll be burning 0.66 gallons/hour. If you assume a 20 pound tank holds just under 3.9 gallons, that's 5.9 hours WOT! Not bad at all. Especially if like here, propane is less than half the price of gas. The MPG may be lower but for me the price for a little 5hp screaming non stop for a whole hour would drop from a miserly $3.20 to just $2.05. Stingy 'lil buggers. I'm just dying a little inside that Yamaha doesn't make a 9.9hp propane outboard because for an extra $2/hour more butts could be on plane.🤗

@@baddboat Have you considered switching to a 7.8x6" prop? That would help a very heavy boat, both in handling and being able to get full RPMs. Like going down 2 gears driving up a hill. ;)
