This son of a bitch was so tough for me to defeat. I played this game with my brother, and we used a cheat or something so as to have unlimited continues, mostly because we wanted to play the full game (not that we weren't playing as if we weren't actually trying). GOD this asshole must have killed us 100 times straight, attributed to two things: 1) We didn't do that kick stunt as far as I remember, 2) We were mostly focused on hitting this asshole. No joke we died 100 times or something similar.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I think when I was a kid I found out you could hit the hat, but I never could destroy it in time so I figured it was just some silly thing to mess around with. Years later I looked up a video online and got shocked when I found out if you kill it fast enough it drops a life. Gotta love that shocking feeling when you play a game a lot and then something you never knew shows up in your face.

Is that a hint that I should make some videos of the game called "Mark of the Ninja"? I'll get around to that eventually, gotta get my recording stuff working again. My new computer doesn't seem to like the programs I was using before. I will make a playthrough of this game using the shurikens at some point, they are just so hard to use compared to the batarangs and wrenches. You might see the bosses do more things too. Thanks for the compliment, and thank Jesper Kyd for the music. =)

Seems absurdly difficult

It is reasonably difficult. For absurd difficulty, check the very 1st level of the same game which swarms the player with enemies without giving a chance to get used to controls and mechanics.

I would assume when Mad Hatter was introduced to the Batman series. So, taking a quick look at the wiki it says it was in November 1948. Hard to believe that Batman was around for that long, let alone the Mad Hatter.

Yo hubiese luchado contra todos los gñomos sin huir y sin batarangs. Eso siempre es más épico que saltar por arriba como lo hiciste

The stage in the forest with the mushrooms was the hardest to me. I lost a complete life gauge almost each time i play the game in that place. i could sweep the entire game without losing a life gauge but this stage was on a different level. especially the part where you can't see those dwarfs hitting you to reveal the stage's boss.

Stage one, pretty easy compared to others and gives you a chance to get more power ups too. Stage 2 is generally pretty easy because you'll probably be at full power from before. I think Stage 2 is a walk in the park. It only ever gave me problems in some parts during the flying segment. Stage 4's difficulty mainly comes from touching the power ups that power you down, and the shift in focus on enemies going from many of them, to being fewer but very tanky. Can just avoid the power downs, and swapping to Wrench makes it super easy. So yeah, Stage 3 is definitely the hardest stage. I don't remember how hard things will hit you for, but gosh most of the stage is being covered all the time and from multiple angles. As for the part where the dwarves are coming out of the background to reveal the miniboss is pretty tricky for sure. Gotta react kinda quickly, but there is a bit of a strategy to dodging stuff while still making it easier for yourself to dodge later on. I know as a kid I'd get wrecked there too because I definitely wasn't planning on where they'd go later on and was just trying to dodge them immediately. It is possible to dodge every single one of these regularly when you play the game enough. However the videos of every stage for this game I did in one playthrough and include any mistake I made, so this was one part. I have no idea how hard this part would be in 2 player though since if it alternates between the players, you can accidentally mess each other up quite a bit.

The fact that makes this game unfair is the "vicious circle" mechanic: if you die, you lose weapon power, which takes more time to beat enimies, specially bosses because they become random and faster as time runs, and so you die again. It is more difficult to get power up in 3 and 4 stages... Try to play with the game genie that you do not decrease power when die, the game will become considering more easy

I feel like everyone who plays this game thinks the same way. Mad Hatter's boss battle is so perfect and would be the best way to end the game. Would be a bit harder to transition to a post-credits scene like Mr Freeze though. Though this game focused on story so I'd be fine with that. = )
