The character "Charlie Parker" was played by actor Hal Smith, who later became popularized as the town drunk on the "The Andy Griffith Show". This episode was filmed in 1953. At the time jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker was known worldwide. I'm sure the writer of this episode used the name tongue-in-cheek.

Probably Ozzie. Ozzie was one of the writers. He was a musician and former band leader. He admired accomplished musicians like Charlie Parker.

David always did seem to be a rather door key young man.

Sometimes school kids can have their own house key for when they leave the house to go to school or come home from school

And other times they can't. I had a cousin in Garden City, Kansas who thought he looked like Rick Nelson. When he was told by his classmates that he looked more like Ozzie, he dropped out of school and started the first Punk Rockabilly band in Kansas.
