I’ve genuinely struggled to find a choir who takes better command of dynamics than this one. I also don’t think many choirs can translate the true meaning of songs into their performances the way this choir does. Like, to be excellent is one thing but to be excellent consistently is another. My favourite choir by far.

The Aeolians have the reputation for being one of the best choirs in the world. In 2019 they do not disappoint; this presentation is incredible. Sixty plus years ago, my music teacher, an Aeolian, Addie Mae Hudson, took a quintet of young accordion players to perform at Oakwood. I never have forgotten that trip. Instinctively I knew that I was at an institution of musical excellence. My Church choir now performs some of the Aoelians' work. Thank God for the Internet, because now I can continue to marvel in their work. I just wish I had gone to school there. . .

Being at this conference and trying to keep up with the rigorous scheduling of panels, workshops, and performances left me (and probably many others) exhausted and struggling to stay alert during certain performances.... Not with The Aeolians! Such command and vitality that lent itself to the electric energy in the room! Prime example of BLACK EXCELLENCE!!! Had me tearing up at the end.... The standing ovation was so crazy that we all needed another bow from the director even after everyone exited the stage!

I had a spectacular choral experience at Brown University, and we went to the ACDA in 1984. Yes, I was a callow youth, but 36 years later, as I watched this performance, I finally began to understand what kind of excellence is possible. We were aiming for it, but this group - wow!

Brilliant performance---as usual by the Aeolians. Jason, you've done a superb job. Most legendary choirs tend to stray from their shine and get lost in search of the next sound---but somehow, you've made the Aeolians sound more "Aeolian" than we thought possible. Congratulations on not only maintaining such a high standard, but making taking this storied group of young voices to even higher heights. Absolutely amazing. Absolut genial! Übrigens, die Aussprache---Muah!!!

Such exquisite musicianship and singing. Takes me back to my college days and singing in chorale. Aeolians are always amazing. Listening to them always reminds one that despite the strife and chaos of life here on earth, there is such beauty in the arts. As long as there are groups like the Aeolians, there is still hope for mankind and the planet. :)
