Hi Jesse! Thanks for your review! First, apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We are dedicated to ensuring our user's 100% satisfaction and would make it happen. So thanks for all the feedback and feature requests, we'll definitely pass it on to the MOZA App development team to resolve all these issues.

Hey! I’m really glad you were able to watch the video and accept the feedback. I really hope you are about to address these issues. However I would also hope you’d have that same level of commitment to all the users in the comment section who have expressed issues with products not functioning, and customer service not responding accordingly. I’m sure they would be happy to get a reply from you. This really could be something special, and I hope some day it is.

Honestly, the biggest thing would be the ability to do segmentation beyond 30 minutes. I love this product for a lot of legacy cameras that aren't shutter compatible. @Gudsen MOZA. I love the product and have used it with the AirCross 2 to make basic trailers for 3d printed items (kzbin.info/www/bejne/poWnqZWjht2GlZI)

@@JesseDriftwood Did you try using the 4 way cross above the XY grid with the waypoints? That's actually a nicer way to set your waypoints and less sensitive. The issue with this app is that it's goddamn terrible to figure out all the features... I think someone should sit down and go through the app like in English. The reason the segmentation hours is set to 0 is because you cannot create a segmentation path longer than 30 minutes (it's something to do with the minimum move speed) Edit: You can also double tap a point to move the camera to that point to check your composition before ruining your shot. This app just needs someone to re-design it.

@@JesseDriftwood This right here is why I am a HUGE fan of your channel. Not only do you give us an AMAZING review which just looks great - as all your stuff does - but you then put the company on notice AFTER they reach out to you. That is the best. I wish more KZbinrs/Inlufencers would do this...I had a recent situation with a particular camera bag from a particular KZbinr (you might know him....) and it was NOT the case with him. The bag was promptly returned (after waiting a year for it) and the money went to better things...(a new turntable for my records!)

I agree. It seems pretty rare to see KZbinrs/influencers/whoever getting frustrated with gear and actually voicing that frustration. It’s refreshing as I get this with certain bits of kit sometimes and it’s kinda reassuring to know it’s not just me! 😂 Hopefully it helps to improve products more going forward.

Being a software developer and knowing that the shortcomings of our workflow software allows project managers to create "Development Tasks" versus "User Stories" and QA only tests "User Stories" regardless of how much code is changed in a "Development Task" ... it wouldn't surprise me in the least that certain aspects of a product's testing get ignored.

Fantastic review! I also have an Aircross 2 (not the Slypod). It’s an ok gimbal (it does drift sometimes)and the app is an absolute nightmare. But both have so much potential! I reached out to Moza because I ordered something directly from their webshop and they had put an incorrect label on the package so it was refused when it arrived here in the Netherlands and was returned to sender. I got the weirdest responses from them, their website doesn’t really function, they don’t have anyone that can speak English and I have no idea where my package is now.. so I get your frustration. I bought the first Moza Slypod and Aircross that were supposed to work together, they didn't. After weeks of going round and round with customer service I was ready to just accept that it wasn't what I had hoped. Then I took the gimbal out on a cold, but above freezing day and suddenly some features stopped working altogether. Back in the warm house everything was fine. At that point I told them I expected a full refund and after a few more weeks of butting head I finally got return authorization. Then I let myself be tempted by the new Slypod pro. Better, but still not what it could be and I have no interest in trying to pair it with one of their gimbals. I keep hoping another company will come up with a similar product that works.

Brilliant review, I agree wholeheartedly, I got the slypod pro and only use it in one mode, video, speed set to 2, gets me 5min of max distance motion, enough for 10seconds of 1” interval timelapse, seeing how bad the app is, I didn’t even bother to connect it to my MOZA Air 2 which I also have, but now seeing your video it just confirmed my suspicions. For that one thing I use it for, it’s brilliant, and I would say still worth the money, but I have this one specific use for it, while others probably would want other uses from it which as you’ve explained are incredibly frustrating

I should have listened to you. This stuff is barely usable. I haven't found any way to get the Aircross 2 to sync properly with the Slypod Pro when doing a Linkage motion. The Slypod Pro starts moving and then 2 seconds later the Aircross 2 starts moving, so they're always out of sync by 2 seconds. It's infuriating. Nothing fixes it, and there are so many other issues with it sometimes not starting at all, sometimes the Aircross "pops" into position when it starts, and the app is complete garbage. Have you figured out how to get the two to sync up properly? Reliably?

Great honest review. Recently I bought the Aircross 3 and send it back after a few days of fiddling around with it. It could not support the advertised weight and thus constantly went into sleep mode. I also had the follow focus. What a mess! The attachements only work for a particular style of lenses (focus ring at the front of the lens), the motor gets loose all the time and you have to reconnect and calibrate the follow focus each time you turn the gimbal off. I wasted sooo much time on a shoot, until I finally gave up. Luckily a friend brought his Ronin. It worked right away. I didn't even use the App much, it felt more like a gimmick.

I have the same problems with the app. I use the Slypod E with a Sony A6400, EVERY TIME I use the App it disconnects! And when it disconnects everything stops. Be in the middle of a 3 hour sunset timelapse... DISCONNECT and the Pod just stops! Completely ruined 1 1/2 hour worth of work! Even then there is no setting to tell it to simply go from fully retract to fully extended (or reverse) at a certain speed the whole way and just hit 'start'. The speed numbers mean what exactly? What is a "5" speed? If it's a %, then what is it in speed? The app settings need to be set on the phone then transmitted to the pod to run when you hit start and the pod runs the program internally. It's ridiculous that the cell is the device doing the actual control. I was going to get the pro version but not till they fix that dam app. Hell, if the screen goes off.... DISCONNECT! Switch to YT to watch a video while waiting for the timelapse... DISCONNECT. Call... DISCONNECT. etc etc etc etc

I have the Moza slypod & aircross 3. You just made a video that read my mind about using motion control. Really frustrating. 1. Lack of instructions 2. Doesn't stop where you want it. Drags slowly beyond the expected point 3. Bad UI for the app 4. Instead of reverse for joystick, why not have separate pan reverse & tilt reverse 5. There should be a completely separate motion control page with simple sequencial controls like 1.set slypod start point, 2. Set gimbal start point. 3. Set slypod end point. 4. Gimbal end point

This sounds like my frustration with Chinese electronics that are designed by people with obviously dysfunctional brains with ZERO functional consideration. Like having one buttoned to turn a device on and use for selection of functions by holding it longer or depressing it for a specific number of times for different functions. This is EXACTLY what happens when ALLL THE WRONG GARBAGE people become involved with innovation. Nothing works the way it should work for the people it should work for because the people designing it are only interested in the opportunity to take money from the people they fail to serve.

They told me no. Not able to do that. And btw the plate is a completely unique size- other Arca swiss plates don't fit....not even the Aircross2 plate fit...lol. So I had to take a different plate and angle ground it to fit in the slypod. WTF. It's only a matter of time until a company (....DJI....) rips off their product and makes it 100 times more user friendly. And then everybody will have one.

Imagine trying to fiddle with this thing on a gig. Thank you so much for doing this review. None of the other reviewers mentioned any of the quirks of the Moza Slypod. Saved my like $700, I would've tossed that thing into a lake lol

The app sucks. But I carry the slypod with my tripod always for slides and quick top down shots. Super useful, super unreliable 😂 find it picky with usb c cables as well, the lock-offs arent great and the battery just always seems dead. Would love a stronger rotating lock-off with a work app and a gimbal head would be amazing. Pair this with the laowa probe and you can make low budget magic.

Minute 11 and some sec, I couldn't watch and listen anymore as how much I felt the frustration with the app .... definitely not the workflow we all search for.!!

18 months without any major APP update. They do not add new cameras and the advice I have given to enter time and distance values manually is not read. The Aircross 3 with Slypod Pro is very stable, with the Aircross 2 it is hell.

Luckily I stopped with the Aircross 2 and sold it for a DJI gimbal. The software is sooooo poor, I couldn't get it to repeat the same path on a timelapse. As in I'd set it, and then on the first run it'd end the movment somewhere other than when I set it. Add to that batteries that just die, and non-existent customer support. I'll NEVER buy anything from Moza again as long as I live.

On their own the work pretty much of the time. Together it's kinda hit or miss, but after the update last year it's better then it was. Before they were not usable together, now most of the time it does as set up. My set up is, aircross 2 and the regular slypod and I control it with a android tablet(Samsung). Maybe there is a difference in Android and Apple, don't know. Moza support is actually pretty terrible, most of the time they don't understand hour question or they want a video of the issue you're experiencing, which is a hassle. One thing I'm definitely missing is key framing the focus motor, that would make it complete. Anyway, I hear what you're saying, if it was working as it supposed to this would be a such a great combo but unfortunately it isn't(all the time anyway). Good luck anyway👍

Why do all these gimbal companies have such $#!* apps with little to no descriptions and poorly translated English? Some of the products out there are brilliant in concept. They even have premium prices, yet ... they have a piece of junk app with incomplete features or poor functionality.

I just came from a review of the same setup but then 3 years ago. In that review, the reviewer was slightly frustrated that the marketed combinations didn't work as advertised. Then I saw this review and being that this one is 2,5 years later I hoped and expected that the issues had been solved and the company now delivers what they promised. But that was not the case. I think that if a company can't solve these problems in 3 years then you can forget that it will ever happen. They will probably come up with a new product and the promise that this new product will solve it all. However, the slypod in this review (the pro) is already the next generation over the normal slypod.

Sorry to hear that bro I have left idea of Moza company which is not transparent at all since Air 2 was breaking apart like screw will not longer screw in or rubber on handle will come of or gimbal will just drain battery out while not in use or app won’t reply work for a Timelapse, while we users setup Facebook group where Moza can’t delete comments or post as it happen on there’s official group not mention theirs customer service not responding on email after purchase or where to send broken gimbal or buy as example that one screw which where out after few time use, I just give up and then I discover this monopod and I decided not to spend money as it will be in 99% crap same as £500 gimbal Good luck man love your content

I got one of the originals when it first came out + the aircross 2. Similar experience with the addition that my slypod had a side to side wobble 90% of the time. It has been sitting in a closet forever unused. I REALLY wanted to like it, as I needed something to do overhead shots with. I can stabilize out the wobble in post but for the price, it just made me mad every time I used it.

Absolute shit company. Had to buy a screw that broke inside the aircross 3, even while being under warrantee. App linking is really beyond cumbersome, and the remote focus that came with the gimbal is even worse. These kind of companies are like hit and run. Its cheap, but also very bad

what a coincidence. I absolutely love my original moza slypod (not pro), but all of a sudden it died. battery won't last beyond 5 minutes, have to reset it every time... but I did love it :(

I had similar issue with moza, I had their air 2 gimbal and the first one stopped working, and wouldn't power on (yes I replaced batteries) so I was lucky enough to get a replacement, then after using that replacement, it would intermittently power off when using it. The app never worked correctly for me either. I ended up returning it to amazon.

I gotta say this, I'm sorry. Storyblocks is huge, they have a lot of shit. But that's the problem, they have a lot of shit. There is more crappy content than there is useable content. I love your segway's though. Going from content to sponsor to content was awesome.

True, Moza could make their app better. But I think you have enough KZbin fame power to contact DJI or someone that can make a better version of this combo.

Haha, I wound up using the syrp mini genie rotating deal with the slypod. You have to use two different apps, but it’s not nearly as complex.

I think i see the problem. They are using a phone app instead a pc/mac app. It would also be better as a pc/mac app because you would probably have more control like timeline with key points or something. Phone apps are just bad at everything everytime

As a tech nerd, the fact that anyone on a modern phone (even androids have options like that) can’t use it properly, means I would not buy it. It could have pure magic, but the app ruins it
