My favorite black Queen is Queen Ranavalana lll the last queen of Madagascar. At the age of twenty she was ruling 20 million people. The French invaded Madagascar and she fought them off for 14 years before she was forced into exile. She killed many Europeans that is why she is ignored by the European press. I think every black person on planet earth should adopt her as our Queen. She will always be my number one queen.

Gary Collier She's not ignored by European historians but extremely insulted, portrayed as a monster as she was anti Christian and didn't hesitate to execute those as traitors who followed this white alien faith ... which they actually were ... traitors
@garycollier69504 жыл бұрын
I also read that she captured French troops and did not kill them on the spot. Instead she marched them thru malaria infested swamps knowing that they would be infected and die a slow and painful death. I have no sympathy of what happens to foreign invaders or traitors. Queen Ranavalona lll did a great job.
@masehoart75694 жыл бұрын
Gary Collier Yes. Not claiming she was otherwise perfect- what monarch was or is? But I think being African woman in power who opposed alien domination ... nothing her European male contemporaries could have considered "sympathetic" - Nzingha, Ngola of Ndongo & Matamba was as well portrayed as a bloodthirsty warlord in European contemporary reports ... Matamba btw had a long history of female rulers ... she ousted Queen Mwongo

Queen Nzinga kept her people out of the slave trade, she was involved in the enslavement of neighboring peoples. She owned a number of plantations and used slave labor to run them. She also captured slaves during the war and sold them to Europeans for profit. In addition, she sometimes traded slaves for other goods or services. Queen Nzinga was a powerful and wealthy woman, but her involvement in the slave trade is a dark part of her legacy.

Achille DevEria was and still seen as a native hero to many. The way she handled political affairs was very smart; it always seemed that she was two steps ahead of everyone else. She never hesitated to put the needs of her country first before anything else. This is exemplified when DevEria herself lead her people to war. One interesting thing that I would like to highlight is her conversion to Catholicism. I believe that she did that so that she could have better relationships with European countries. It felt more like a political decision to me.

She was also extraordinary because she protected her people even if her life was always in danger. As Angolan it is quite enfuriating to see baseless comments of the sort "she sold slaves", have we watched the same Video. By the way, we know her history in even more details. Queen NZINGA alliance with the Dutsch was as means of countering portuguese expansion, she allowed trade to happen, only outside of her TERRITORY, once you escaped as a slave and found yourself in either NDONGO or MATAMBA, you was a free man, the Dutsch agree d to it, the Portuguese didn’t. It wasn’t her who sold people. In Angola and Congo, there’s a term called the KWATA KWATA wars, in which tribes were used by Europeans to fight against each other, and sell each other, the video mentions the Imbangalas, but there were many such tribes in Angola for instance, who had loyalty to no one, like the JAGA KASSANJE, those people, would catch anyone and sell them. And this is the environment in which she ruled, the trade was happen with or without her, she provided a safe haven for escaped slaves, and regained many territories that were controlled by the Portuguese, what also wasn’t mentioned, she very often took over trade roots, she was a total menace to the Portuguese, and I can’t understand why ignorant people here can’t hold their mouth shut about shit they don’t know. Very DISRESPECTFUL.
