I actually respect Eddie a lot for at least coming out and telling the situation as it is. Whatever you think at least he provides some clarity and details behind the scenes that a lot of other promoters aren't willing to disclose. He just wants to make the fights happen and he can't be faulted for that. There is an element of ego and how his contemporaries don't like that fact that young or young-ish promoter has such a strong position in the business. Boxing is too much a business and not enough a sport which is why these fights are not being made.

Believe me. The Froch GGG fight is happening. Eddie playing it down and saying he is retiring but then saying GGG does motivate him is a way of hyping/ promoting the fight further! Just look at GGG's twitter, constantly asking the question whether the fight will happen. God, Hearn is so irritating. It's obvious that instead of having a difficult fight against Brook for great money, Khan prefers fighting easy opponents for good money in the hope that he gets a Mayweather fight. If Khan loses against Brook, he doesn't get the Mayweather fight. Brook is actually doing the same thing except he's waiting around for Khan to fight him. He should fight Bradley, Thurman or even Maidana in America in the meantime but those fights are too tough so he'll fight Brandon 'human punching bag' Rios instead.

@IFLTV Slightly confused about what he said regarding AJ, understandably the fight in july won't be as big as the fight in september because obviously that would be a regression. However it still needs to be a tougher opponant than kevin johnson, no point sticking in a journey man in to keep him fresh between fights. only way is up from here. Brook V Khan - according to the interview khan did yesterday, he makes alot more money per fight than the $5 million Eddie mentions. I think this fight will happen but not untill December time or the following year. Finally - Undercards, Main Event and over all value for money shows.. full card apart from Brook V Gavin were all really entertaining fights. I exclude Brook V Gavin from that because that was a full blown conclusion from the off and Kell didn't break a sweat. A Good Fight Card needs your mix of Boxers and Brawlers, as Eddie said regarding appeals to the purist fan and the man on the street (me). I didn't watch the bellow V Cleverly fight, but that rivalry just looked plastic from the off and i heard the fight was absolute dross. here's an example.. if you ever have lee Selby as the main event, you'll need to back the card with a few huge punchers and out n out wars to get the balance because Selby is a skilled boxer not a brawler. If an events going to be PPV might as well go all out and throw in the kitchen sink IMO. Finally Finally Finally - I think it's quite obvious that British fighters have to go to America to get the real super pay days unless they sell a Ton of PPV, but with the award of a 6 year contract with Sky.. ina few years time this could be the reality

The card on Sat night was great and real boxing fans knew that Brook vs Gavin was going to be shit and that it was Mitchell and Selby that was the selling point with a sprinkle of Joshua on the card too. Eddie needs to realise a Froch vs Groves 2 will not happen again in the size of the event a lot of things added spice to that fight 1.Needle in the build up to the 1st fight 2.The first fight and it's outcome 3.The uproar for a rematch 4.And the needle building to.the 2nd fight The blend was perfect for a mega fight. If Kell Brook truly wants to fight the best and cement a legacy he may have to travel to America as Khan has done previously. Brandon Rios is a joke of a fight he was simply a tune up for Pacquaio sure he comes to fight but his skills are limited and Brook will despatch him with ease. That's what Eddie needs to realise the PPV numbers will be good if the fights are 50/50 like Mitchell and Selby on Sat night. If Brook was to face Bradley Thurman or Marquez now that's a fight. If you can't get them to the UK pack Kells bags and send him to the states. How many fights did Froch have away from home before finally fighting on home soil. I get my money's worth from sky sports with football , ringside, premier league darts etc not to mention we had De gale in a world title fight as part of subscription only 2 weeks ago...countless other quality shows as part of your sky sports subscription as well recently ...I honestly think if people want to moan that for the cost of a Chinese takaway you got 7 hours of non stop quality action including 6 title fights (3 WORLD TITLE BOUTS !!!) Don king was the only guy who stacked the shit out of his cards. look at the floyd vs pacquiao fight for example so much money in it but their co main event match was leo santa cruz vs a nobody. Oh well, no more decent fights then unless you dig deep into your pockets. Another knock-on affect of Hearn's current monopoly on Sky Sports. This will actually drive people away from the sport. This guy is killing boxing and the fighters will become LESS well known as only the privileged view will be able to afford the continual ppv events. Hearn is a money man through and through - not interested in the detrimental effect ppv's will have on the sport.
