It's been nearly one month since Israel bombed Iran's embassy in Syria and since Iran's retaliatory strikes against Israel. The dust may have settled but was this all for show? Dr. Mohammad Marandi joins MintPress Director Mnar Adley to discuss the aftermath of these attacks and what it means for Iran and the future of the region.

Thank you! As a US university professor of 22 years I worked closely with not a few students from Syria and Iran. They were the most civilized, warm, well-read, hard-working and articulate students I ever had. And I wish that more Americans not just celebrities would visit Iran and discover the same about their country. Yes, I dislike any theocratic regime for many reasons and crimes, but I'll take Iranian policy and patience over US open self-serving belligerence and fascism any day.

Why do you use the word " regime " to describe Iranian government ? It sorts of contradicts all the rest of your comment . You call USA fascist but you don't call it a fascist regime , why not ?

@@fightback397 I understand and agree with Marandi's point and appreciate yours about the word. I need to be more careful with it. But my post says "dislike ANY theocratic regime," not just Iran's, and that would include America's (their god is money). My usage meant any state rulers not in synch with their majority population, as I know America's is not, and from what I can learn in knowing Iranians who love this life, peace, secular multiculture and education, neither is theirs. I always need more solid homework and your response will push me to work harder at it.

All i see is talk. If Iran did care about Palastine or Gaza they would have warned Pissrael if they did invade Gaza they would retaliate from all sides like Yemen, Iraq Iran Lebanon and syria. But they didnt. Nobody really care about Palastine. That is something Hamas understood and they took matters into their own hands as they always do.

In fact based on Iranian official statistics 85% Iranian people don't show any support for Palestine. this is official and available on youtube from IRGC sources in Farsi. In my opinion the Muslim world sided with IRGC criminals during Mahsa Amini protests. And Iranian people remember how we were ignored by Muslims and will return the favor.

I'm an American Dr, and everything you've said is spot on against what I call an embarrassment of a small percentage of The United States. I have watched just about every time I've seen you on a channel and it may sound odd, however, our Former President Trump, from a rather large amount of research I've done, he was actually being set up by the Democratic Party of the U.S 8 years of Obama and as a Celebrity to a Politician he didn't know who was wearing a mask in the Government, and I often compare how he was going to Pardon Julian Assange and in his last day was pulled into an intel briefing and suddenly changed his mind. I've been able to obtain some information that the plan was initially to establish relations with Iran and other countries that the brainwashed Americans just can't understand. They call Mr. Putin a Dictator, I beg the differ, he's a Cultural Populist. The Issues with China via Taiwan is embarrassing to Biden and The one calling the plays in Blinken, it was U.S, U.K, and China in 1944 who had Japan sign a document that they would return all the land to China that they stole from China. A small group of islands as well as the Island of Taiwan. In reality the Biden Administration is poking at themselves not China, because it was the U.S that got Taiwan back to China. I have been studying a lot about Iran and as you mentioned it's not the Evil Place that's drilled into the heads of schoolchildren. Thank both of you and I truly enjoy learning more about different countries and languages at the same time and I have the utmost respect for you. I am aware as a Dr, and Professor that you know that the U.S problem is the Government and possibly 5% of the population that is unable to be deprogrammed. Keep speaking Truth about your Country and I hopefully will be able to visit one day. I am the lucky Husband of a Lebanese born American woman. Thank you.

Trump policy on the Palestinian occupation was/is a disaster with terrible consequences for the Palestinians and the people of the region . The health crisis another disaster , he should have FIRED dr. Fauci and not let himself be played by such a crook . The other major mistake was not to free Assange , this would have establish a good basis to openly discuss the acts of various intelligence agencies in the US that act impunitively which undermines the very structure of balances of power in the US . Trump scored 2 major victories by diplomatic way with Russia and North Korea which was not apreciated by the " unelected powers " in the USA .

@@sepasgozar. I'm not trying to blow smoke, but I am extremely familiar with just about all that took place. This stemmed back to 2004 when Trump's original CIA Director Mike Pompeo was begging to Attack Iran then, and Trump going from Celebrity to President wasn't inept as to how Washington works. He was caught in the middle of Pompeo a RINO and Former High Ranking Military Official who's like Biden when it comes to Trump. I know that each year at least 5 Intel Agencies will write reports on there views of Iran and 1/6/2017 Trump took office and as far into the beginning of 2019 he was receiving 4 Anti-Iranian Reports and the only true one was the Intel Agency that you very seldom hear about and the saying is true that if you or your Agencies Name isn't constantly mentioned you must be doing a good job and I can attribute this same Intel Agency submitted several reports in 1999 naming Mohammed Atta as plotting the Events of 9/11, if you remember Trump was illegally recorded in his New Jersey Country Club which he's now being charged for possession of Classified Documents, however it's the President's decision on how to act on all reports. The reason why I am very confident that he was set up is May, 2020 I believe when Soleimani was killed, the charge of Classified Documents are not considered classified whether he had it or he memorized it, it was just after leaving office and he was taped calling The Military Member who was taking a new job under his buddy Biden had urged Trump to act immediately and Trump said look what this idiot told me to do, which under the 18th Amendment Opinion Clause of the President leaves him with the ultimate decision. It was clear the Democrats were after him and the Military person didn't like him, and in reality the illegal actions were via both Pompeo and FmrJCoS. If you listen to the recording and exactly what Trump says he's aware that he's going to be facing false accusations and he appears to be telling the people that he wasn't responsible, but it is his big mouth that makes him look guilty. I can factually tell you that 2 weeks prior to leaving office he had made up his mind to Pardon both Julian Assange and Edward Snowden and two days prior he was called into an Intel office that didn't include the best Intel Agency the U.S Government has. I am 100% positive that he entered the meeting with no knowledge of what it was about and when he left his decisions of two pardons weren't even a slim possibility. There's speculation as to what goes on in that room that has the ability to change a mind in a minute is a talk with T.V's playing certain things in the circular room. I choose not to even mention the speculations made by several others and rumors that Speaker Johnson recently had a visit as all Ukraine Aid votes by him were against and he attended the meeting and voted the opposite way in 4 bills. I respect the video, I am going on 90% knowledge and 10% assumption. My knowledge is legitimate Paperwork between The White House and Tehran, and he was aware Soleimani was in Iraq on a Peace mission

The interview with Piers Morgan and Prof Marandi brought to light the ignorance of Morgan and western media showing how biased and ignorant they are about the genocide and serious atrocities inflicted on Palestinians. Dr🎉. Marandi with his intelligence and knowledge seriously put Piers in his place. Piers Morgan has a habit of making all his Muslim and Palestinian guests condemn the October 7th attack. This can be so intimidating for them. This is also allowing the occupiers to make genocide possible in Gaza. This biased attitude is so destructive. But it was very interesting how Prof Marandi handled the whole interview. This interview and Piers interview were both very interesting and knowledgeable for me to watch. Bravo to this channel and Prof Marandi. Please keep coming on the media. We need people like you to present a just and unbiased information about the current war in theMiddle East

Their main agenda is to get their one world government and a new world order under their complete domination. This is why they are desperately seeking to get a regime change in Iran / Russia / China and any country that is independent. But the tied is changing with the creation of the Bricks world banking A lot of countries are turning away from the western financial banking and joining the bricks banking. 20:20 Agreed! As an American, I visited Iran in 2019. 4,000 mile road trip. It was epic. My conclusion: Iranians are the greatest people on Earth. So kind, generous, friendly, smart, and thoughtful. Don't listen to the media. Go to Iran and meet Iranians for yourself.

I hope Iran becoming a member of BRICS will help to bring India to its senses in terms of the old colonial "divide and rule" domestic politics it employs to maintain elite power over its vast multi confessional population. Put bluntly India needs to grow up and out of its slavish attachment to the evil ways of the British empire. India has the second largest Muslim population in the world so imagine how its economy and culture would thrive if it were able to develop normal relationships with its immediate neighbours and the wider region not to mention developing a more balanced internal socio political reality. The time has come for India to shake off the complexes and fears inflicted upon by Western colonialism and once again forge and encourage good Hindu/Muslim relations drawing on the reality of the past to take it into the future. Another great speech by professor Marandi who is a sane voice in an insane world.

Iran has been under extremely heavy sanctions of all sorts for many decades, yet they manage to come up with such an impressive military might that scares the Pentagon!! No country will sell missile engines. We are dealing with an ancient and very smart nation that founded the very first empire on earth 2500 years ago. That means they have the potential of becoming a regional power now. My deepest respect to that intelligent nation.

I am a senior engineer from Denmark and have been mentor for two iranian civilengineers and worked with one female principal iranian civilengineer in our company. They all have topqualifications and are very cultivated. I am proud to have know them, and should very much like to see Iran! Knowing iranians, and listening to you, gives an important understanding for your fight for justice, also for the palestinians!
