I lost my wife to suicide just 4 days after her 37th birthday. It's almost one year later and I still can't get over it. In top of that, my sister was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and is really sick. My faith has really been tested but God showed this song to remind me that both he and my wife are with me always. After being lost for over a year, I finally feel like I'm being called back to God. I'd been feeling closer and closer to Him lately and today He provided me with everything I needed, like a shining light that was looking after me. I was searching for my old pastor that transferred to another church, and I found him today. I needed cash so I could take the bus home and God provided. I was in a situation with the government and God showed me the path out. And I needed a song to reaffirm my faith in God and He led me here. I only pray that I can find the strength to break my sinful habits and to keep God always at the forefront of my mind.

Shawn Jenkins​ yes I agree. I felt away from Him for so long, but now I'm drawn closer and closer. I'm forcing myself to change my own thoughts and actions to be more appropriate of my example of God's love. And with His love in me, I'm drawing out the impure thoughts, the baser urges, and the primal anger that used to live inside me. It's a tough road but I know it'll be worth it when my own mind doesn't feel like an enemy.

This song really speaks about my life. I can't tell you how many times God has done something spectacular for me (how many times He has "lit up the sky"). Earlier this Spring I was a full time college student. One day, I came home from school feeling kinda off. After spending five days at home getting worse I finally went to the hospital via ambulance. As it turns out, I had Pneumonia and I had gone septic. I also had a heart condition at the time. I'm a Christian and have been so for a while--however, at the time I wasn't particularly seeking God. But he showed me that even though I wasn't crying out to Him He was reaching out to me. Within five days I was back on my feet and returned home (I am now fully recovered :) Later I discovered that only HALF of the people who've gone through this survive. If the Lord hadn't orchestrated me getting to the hospital, I probably wouldn't have made it through the night. So no matter what your walk with God is (even if your not a Christian) don't give up...look to Him and cry out his name. Because He is definitely thinking of you.

Dear person who is reading this, I was a chronic sufferer of these things: vanity, lust, lying, cruel intentions, smoking marijuana, sexual immorality, pride, depression, sadness, anger, slander, gossip, drunkenness, profane language, cowardice ways, idolatry,pornography, impure thoughts .. PARTYING AND THE WORST OF ALL, a fornicator and adultress!!!! And everything else that you could imagine..... BUT IM HERE TODAY TO TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL OVERCOME AND GOD WILL CHANGE YOU WHEN YOU START TO BELIEVE!!! Jesus needs you to come to himin humbleness and pray in your room ALONE to Him and CONFESS TO HIM that you have sinned against Him in ALL your ways... It's okay to speak them out loud it's only you and Him there... Ask Him to Come into your heart, that you want to receive the Blood He shed for you and The Holy Spirit and He will give it to you! Repent and stop all the sins and then Pickup your cross and walk with Him! With all the sincerest meaning in your heart Jesus Will come in and Save you! Time is running out and He is looking for you to Change! If you take that one step then all you need left is to get baptized in water! His Holy seal will be on you! But there is more... You must then fight in your mind against the flesh and the enemy who will try tempting you to get back to the mess he wants you in .. DONT GIVE UP ! fight the Good Fight and kick that selfishness and start living selfless! You will know God is With you because the enemy will be threatened and then the battle begins... You will then start having to say no all the time to everything the evil one will send your way to get you to sin! But when you notice that, you then Pray pray pray! I'm telling you this because it happened to me! And everyday I have to pray to keep my mind on Jesus and keep my thoughts pure and my eyes looking up to Heaven! From a person who was at her worst, I can now tell you that I am waayyy better than I have ever been ALL BECAUSE OF JESUS CHRIST WHO TOLD ME TO SIN NO MORE!!! I THIS DAY AM TELLING YOU THAT JESUS CHRIST IS MY SAVIOR AND HE SAVED ME FROM OUT OF THE DEPTHS OF THE DARK PITS AND HE IS WITH ME. HE IS STILL WORKING ON ME TO THIS DAY! through all my sin and most recent backsliding I am now back completely and NEVER LOOKING BACK, God showed me that He can and will take his spirit away if I didn't go back home to him.... He kept calling me at that time and then I kept acting like I didn't hear Him... I was wrong for that and to this day I still feel that all the sorries and forgive me prayers in the world I prayed were not enough, that Jesus stayed mad at me... But I know that is the enemy and He is mad because I left the darkness and went back to the Light, it IS a battle and He lost, so naturally the evil one is attacking my mind.... But I'm NOT AFRAID AND I know Jesus is with me because I stopped sinning and went back to prayer and I can resist evil all by God's power, for I can't do this alone!!! Dear reader, YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER!!!! Dear Jesus Christ, I love you... I THANK YOU for showing me that YOU are able and YOU kept me away from destroying what you have built in me AGAIN! That afternoon as I was leaving just before pulling out of her road onto the highway, I turned on the radio- and this song had just came on. Zachary, don't fall into the trap of believing everything is dark. I felt that way for most of my life and all it did was tear me apart. We are designed for light not darkness! I was into drugs, alcohol, sex, robbing, partying, was homeless for a while, terrible relationships, my daughters mother dissapeared with my daughter, etc. From living my life on the streets all I could see from that point of view was darkness. Got to the point where I would cry everyday regretting bringing my children into a world I thought was all dark. Then anxiety and stress got me to a point where I didn't go an hour without thinking about blowing my brains out (honestly the only reason I didn't is because I refused to leave my children to fend for themselves alone in this world like my father did). Then I found the good Lord! I am clean and sober, have a small business, a house, an amazing wife and family, healthy beautiful children (found daughter and got custody), too many blessings daily to even list! Still have struggles, and everyone does, but with God they are nothing to deal with! Man I am not usually one to leave comments let alone read them but man yours pulled at my heart and I had to let you know thats not how the world works. At that age I feel we face a major crossroad choosing between light and darkness as we transition from child to adult. Choose light ( or "choose life" as the good book says), read the bible and congregate with like-minded people! Everything will be o.k. with God! And I will pray for you.

Words can't express how much I needed this song right now. I've always had a strange relationship to God and faith. I never really knew what was the right thing for me and honestly, I was afraid, I'd be laughed at... But I've been in a really bad state the past years and I slowly started to trust in God again, realising how much believing can actually help. And it feels amazing!

God is Good.Orderly.Direction and is here as a personal experience of life. It allows you to find who you are and why your here, life is not what we think the bad is just part of the experience and when you find God the experience reveals that whatever happens there always a force which guides us when we are unable to guide ourselves. Never be in fear or want because we are part of a United universal oneness which is made from pure creation and love. Sonetimes One will reach the point of total despair and darkness which will either divide him from life and all they know or grasp for something to hold on to and when that time comes one will be healed and touched by God through your hearts most profound experiences. We wonder why it takes such pain to be touched but it does not many experience God without suffering because they have been taught the way but those who are not do not seek him until it's a need and even then he comes to you. I've lived a very hard life of suffering but I never blamed God or disregarded his grace, I may have not have been one with him but I still did not mock or disregard him but I did wonder why I suffered so much. But I know that life is not about perfection it's about growing and the experience here and now so in my darkest hour God was the light that shawn through the shadow and lead me back into the arms of grace. Let light and love be with you and may the heavenly Father guide you to pastures of new salvation and prosperity. Never forget you are one with God and him you without both of you this experience would not be. Glory be to The Father The Son and The Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning now and ever shall be world without end Amen!!

+Lane Gillespie I am so sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to lose someone close to you. Just six days ago (Feb 9) was the third anniversary of my moms' death. She had stage 4 breast cancer when she was first diagnosed. She fought it for 5 years, trying so many different treatments; Chemotherapy, Radiation, Surgical... I was twelve when my mom finally passed away. I can still remember how hard i cried that night. I cried so much that my eyes were swollen the next day. I felt so confused and even angry at God. Throughout that dark time in my life, I found myself always wanting to be alone and just away from the world. However, I always found comfort in my friends, family and God. I remember Him telling me that she will always be watching me from the windows of Heaven "cheering me on" as I remember it. She was such a strong Christian and I hope I can be as strong as she was. Do not shut people out, and do not lose your happiness for things will heal through time. Remember: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

I'm 18 now, but I can't believe this song was uploaded on Nov 3, 2010, which was 1 day after my 14th birthday! To bad I couldn't have played it on that day. The Afters are such amazing band!

Love this song so much. It teaches us that even though we are going through hard times, God still loves us and he will always love us and he will always be there for us even though we are sinners. God still cares about each and everyone of us and he died on the cross so that we will be saved from sin. I was running away from God because I thought He would never forgive me again. I gave up on myself and lost all hope. I indulged I’m sin because why not enjoy the world when you still can since your going to hell anyway. That was my thought. After months of avoiding God, all I felt was emptiness. I tried praying but it did nothing. I thought the Holy Spirit had left me. I was hopeless, so I thought… one morning I woke up and this song popped in my head. I didn’t know the lyrics by I kept singing the chorus, “I can’t deny that you are with me, you light up the sky to show me”. I finally searched up the song and immediately started crying. I realized that this was a message from God that He had always been with me. Even when I gave up on myself, He NEVER did. I was never too far from his mercy, grace, and love. THANK YOU JESUS!

Several years ago I was going through some major depression. I was angry that I was even alive. It seemed like everything I was doing was wrong. I was tired of fighting. I felt that I was making everyone around me miserable so I was ready to give up. I was driving home after yet another late night after a long day at work and I told God that if he didn't give me some answers I was going to meet him soon. I had intended to take my life. I pulled up to our home. Everything was dark. Nobody was home I don't remember why. I asked God to give me a sign or He would be seeing me shortly. This song came on the radio. About half way through the song the sky lit up with lightening. I went to bed crying. I thanked God for the sign. The next day was my birthday. On my way to work I was in heavy traffic. I looked toward the east and saw the sun starting to rise. I was in awe of the birthday gift that God provided. He gave me a double rainbow to enjoy that morning.

God be witn you always and may he be your foundation and your light of glory. This music takes God's impression and reflects it upon those who need it the most. The music is the medium which transfers God's energy and presence through a less rigid religious example that does not impose upon ones sense of personal choice and allows them enjoy God in a way that eliminates the demands and restrictions of religion that create the feeling of judgement and the pressure of religious conformity and purity. This give a person the freewill to accept God however they wish and not by inducing fear and self consciousness related to the feeling we must apply proper holy conduct enforced through judgement and damnation and fear of failing God's will. I have been that man laying on the ground... many of you can relate as well and this video brought me to tears because i heard it on the night i needed it the most... It has been an interesting few months my older brother was diagnosed with Lymphoma. We have been back and forth to the hospital quote a few times. I'm 26 years old an orphan was born in Russia servied abortion and lived in two different foster family's. And that didn't love me and they were using me was bullied throughout my school years. And God always was there right next to me and never abandoned me when ever one else had. God love is now and forever he is my savior and my father he always light up the path for me my story my journey is not over. It's not hypocritical. Neither is Christian rap. It's the same as any church hymn, just more modern sounding. If Christian rap and rock are wrong because they're modern, then anything done with technology to promote God's love is wrong.

It was assumed by me to be the reason, it has nothing to do with modern or not, but with what the message the sounds give, sort of like how a baby screams are not allowed in places where a sensitivity is a part of the words spoken. @wiztory you have well said things.
