I don't normally comment on old videos, but my wife and I were traveling across the Texas Panhandle this past weekend (Oct 5, 2024) and we stopped at the Cross on the Prairie in Groom Texas (Just east of Amarillo) . Its a huge cross, well over 100 FT tall and around it are statues of the Stations of the Cross. There is also statues of the Last Supper and Jesus and the 2 thieves on the crosses After spending about an hour there we were getting into our truck and when we started the engine this song was playing on the radio. Right in front of us was the statue of the Roman soldier hammering the nail into Jesus' wrist. This song has always moved me but the song with view we had in front of us really put things into perspective. Powerful!

I lost my youngest daughter to a terrible accident three weeks ago. A few months prior to her death she shared this song with her mother. She was moved by this song and stated this was her life story. I want to thank "Sidewalk Prophets" for writing and producing such a beautiful song. My daughter of 5 months passed away this August. It was by far the hardest thing I've been through in my life. I was so hurt, so angry. Through a chain of events I found myself in church and after several years of being a hard headed atheist, I gave my life to God. Though I'll never see her again on this earth I know I'll get to spend an eternity with her in heaven. Cherish the memories you had with her loved one and rejoice knowing we'll see them again when our time here is up :)

I was there also. Addicted. Kept calling out to him for months. Finally I'm clean and I couldn't be more blessed. More happy of gods love. Really understanding what it's like to live. Not only that, that's the second time he saved me from something like that. I won't go back again. I have a new understanding a perspective on life. Plus it's not right by God I was afraid that after a lil while if be going to hell. But he says I hold you in the palm of my hand. I will never leave you or forsake you. I ran away from his safety, due to devilish nightmares. I noticed that the further away I was from him, the less they happened. I’m a 16 year old kid from south jersey. I’m a backup singer for my church’s praise band and a lead singer for my rock band T.H.E.( The House Elephants). I’ve grown up listening to both Christian and Rock music and loving both equally. After a certain point my love for Christian music kinda fell off but I still enjoyed it. About a week and a half ago, my father asked if I wanted to sing lead on something with the praise band for a live streamed service. It was myself, my father, my brother, our pianist, drummer, and one of the backup singers. I said yes but the songs I originally wanted to do we couldn’t due without the full band. So he asked me about this song and I said “sure I think I remember this song”. When I had first listened to it when I was younger I didn’t really get it till now. While listening to it it brought something out of hiding in me and I can’t stop listening to it. And I’m very much so fine with it. I guess I just found a way to relate to this song. So thank you for reopening me up to Christian music in me the way it used to be through one of my new top 3 favorites.

This song might encourage people to live as they please in sin, knowing that god still loves them. But remember this. God also loved judas but judas is in hell now. God loved the hellhound people too. One must repent and leave their sinful ways. Not just stay the same because they know they'll be loved. That's using grace as a license to sin. And those people are not yet saved.

God is so good, He doesn't shun you for it. He doesn't yell at you. He doesn't even make you clean it up. I was first saved as a young boy going to church with my grandmosther. I wasn't raised in a good Christian home like so many kids are today. As I grew up in my late childhood and early teenage years I learned the not so pleasant language (if you catch my drift) and I started using it quite often. I was also exposed to alcohol throughout my childhood as my father, grandmother, and mother all drank, so the day I turned 21 I got drunk for the first time and did many times after that, but God loved me anyway and never turned his back on me. About 5 years I decided it was time to get my life in order, so I gave up the foul language and kicked alcohol out of my life for good (even though I was always able to control it and not let it control me like it had my father and grandmother) and I started going back to church and the first time I stepped into the church where I presently attend, I knew I was home and it was the right fit. I then proceeded to ask God to forgive me sitting right there in my seat. I am happy to say I am a child of God and I will never turn my back on him again. I also am so happy he allowed me to go through the trials and tribulations that he did because I came out the other side so much stronger and a much better person. Jesus said deny me in front of your friends and I will deny you in front of my father, well I am here to tell you that I am a child of God and I will not deny you in front of my friends. Just remember that no matter what battle your going through and whether your a child of God or not, HE LOVES YOU ANYWAY and there's nothing like his saving grace.

The lord says in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." For those who don't the love of God. I just want to say that I have seen the glory of God in my life and all the honor and praise is for the Alfa and Omega. Those who feel lonely , abandoned, depressed , just remember that there is only one person in this world who live love you like no other and that is our Lord Jesus Christ. I have gone back and forth when it comes to the path of the lord and I know that I have turned my back on God many times, but the most amazing part of all this. Is that God is always there and he has never abandoned me even after all the horrible things I have done. i remember listening to this song on the radio when i was pretty young (about 7-8 years old approx) and i never really paid attention to the lyrics and the meaning. I'm 16 now and man.... the lyrics are so powerful and so true. I started crying when I heard him sing the “*I turned away with a smile on my face, with this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace. And then alone in the night, I still called out for You. So ashamed of my life.*” part It really hit me because before I would call myself a Christian but i never had a true relationship with God, continually sinning and disobeying Him. And when I would feel scared or sick or needed something I would pray. I hated it so much. But now, thanks to God and his lovingkindness, I recommitted my life to Christ almost a year ago. Praise be to God
