Everybody in the comment section needs to chillax. Okay all of you including him don't realize how powerful content creators are if the pope came out cursing and swearing about the Olympics 2024 Evie world war 3 the words he expressed in his letter was to make the Catholic community upset but not violent. There is 1,700 people commenting on this video that is a decent size military force with tanks jeeps squads that's enough to go through the New York city and decimate it. No did nux really screw up yes royally so are you guys going a little overboard on destroying this guy I think so. But it's a good lesson to learn not to throw dirt on anybody until there's until there is legal documentation and the physical legal world does take action on something an example is if you see say Markiplier or hear about Markiplier I don't know chopping up people okay for an example you don't say anything okay it's just something you hear if you witnessed it then you report it but you do not disclose anything to your followers or to the community you keep it private until there is a court battle and or legal bad things happening and there's a 100% conviction then you can then disclose information on to the situation and throw dirt until then you should never throw dirt until there is 100% absolute legal documentation by real lawyers not by Google drones or other drones actual legal lawyers and laws before throwing dirt now I know there's sometimes beef with other people here and there sometimes and you need apologize here and there that's a different story. And should you destroy somebody because they had a beef with say Markiplier and I don't know jacksepticeye they both had a fight they're both falling out and should the community go to war with the other no should the one community both communities completely destroy say Markiplier no because it's such a silly thing but if it's something really serious and grievous that law needs to take place then that should be private until further notice. It's really absurd on how everything is honestly because think this KZbinr that everybody saying has to apologize yes he should apologize but to the point of wanting to destroy and end his career that's a bit evil because you're destroying it's like berserk and high school of the dead okay we will never get the truest story ever or will never get it whatsoever so ending a creator is to end a story without an end and that royally sucks even more one less Creator means one less person that provides entertainment for us it doesn't just hurt the Creator it hurts ourselves as well. Some quotes: Frodo: "The Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own. I don't think it gave life to the orcs, it only ruined them and twisted them..." From The SIlmarillion: "...and they built lands and Melkor destroyed them; valleys they delved and Melkor raised them up; mountains they carved and Melkor threw them down; seas they hollowed and Melkor spilled them; and naught might have peace or come to lasting growth, for as surely as the Valar began a labour so would Melkor undo it or corrupt it."

Man... When you started off with Hollywood adaptations the first thing that came to mind was the Prince of Persia movie. A lot of people don't like this movie, but Jerry Bruckheimer up-ended his whole production cycle when he found out about the trilogy on PS2, because he wasn't a gamer he hired assistants to play the games while he watched. Because of this he changed Jake Gyllenhaal's outfit to resemble the games, he added parkour scenes, incorporated the Sands of Time and the Dagger of time, literally changing almost half the movie to align itself with the games out of respect for pre-existing art.

as someone who writes and creates art out of pure passion and for venting emotion, this video is so polarizing for me. like, the way nux talks about how truly beautiful and amazing art can be and what it really means and all that absolutely inspires me so so much, and yet at the same time seeing so many good passion project pieces of art being butchered so hard kinda makes me not wanna put anything I make out there in fear of it being torn apart by corporations of something. like, I would love more than anything for the passion projects I make to bring people joy and make them think and put a smile on people's faces, but the thought of my stories being warped into some sort of horrific demon pretending to be the thing that I loved so much is just, I don't even know if there's words to describe it. either way, this video was fantastically made, well done nux :D

Take the example that is Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. Every Spin-off, Movie, and Anime change has to go through him. Netflix's One Piece adaptation was a hit too, though some of the older fans didn't like some of the changes (that's to be expected) overall everyone liked the series as a whole. Go make your art just don't sell it off
@lorrainebrunner24905 ай бұрын
I have been writing things for years and I have to tell you this. A corporation will never warp "your" art because they only go for huge IPs that are universally loved by all. Just publishing a book at all (without being scammed by businesses that print your book and demand payment, but real publishing that a company pays you for) is extremely difficult. I suggest if you don't intend on making money from it anyway... upload it. There's nothing to lose, and I'm sure that some people will love it even if not everyone does. 😊 And if you feel that you NEED to be payed for it, I suggest doing it on some kind of platform and trying to do it with a patreon or something similar. But most importantly... all stories in your head will only ever be known by you unless you write it out for others. The world won't change. But you can still try in spite of that. Personally, I wish you luck. 👍

I think it's just a huge miscalculation on the part of entertainment industries. They tried to cut corners by hiring cheaper and less talented people, and told stories the wider audience doesn't like because their data comes from biased weirdos in bubbles, focus groups in progressive stronghold cities in CA and NY, or the executives are just horrible out of touch. There's also the draw of ESG funding that likely contributes to the less talented people getting work over the people who might know a thing or two. Writers ignoring lore and continuity to tell their own story in someone else's sandbox, and executives hiring people with no knowledge or love for what they're adapting are the second most egregious wrongs in my opinion. It goes beyond ineptitude and bad info. It's willful ignorance and narcissism. The worst wrong they've committed? Blaming the audience for not liking their slop.

One of the things I love and appreciate about Nux's videos, especially ones like this, is his usage of vocabulary. George Orwell, yes, the guy who did 1984, talked about this topic extensively in his non-prose writings. The use of language affects thought, and thought influences societal discourse. So the simpler the language, in turn affects the level of intellect from humans as a whole. Simplify the language and you simplify the people. Nux is going to piss a lot of people off with this one, and I'm 100% here for it. Stay weird, fam.

Thank you for making this video. You articulated perfectly how I feel inside watching art decay throughout my life. It seems that talent and art has been under such an aggressive attack for the past ten years and it is an absolute tragedy. I believe that the purpose of art is to portray someone's soul and perspective on reality, and in today's world soul is shelved in favor of censorship and activism from the spurned talentless individuals who want to conform existing art to their standards. The literal death of the reason for the existence of the art at its inception. I hope that more people like you can help turn us back around. Because I believe art is a defining characteristic of humanity, and these individuals want to devolve it for no good reason other than to make themselves feel better and to relish in other people's disdain at the vandalism happening to the things they love right in front of their eyes.

What makes the changes made to Sokka and Avatar even worse is that it's not like Sokka hated women, he was just stuck in the mindset that men were soldiers while the women were caretakers, because all the women left at his tribe were the nonbenders while all the men had left to fight in the war leaving him in charge of the village. It took one meeting with the kyoshi warriors and getting beat by them to change his mind. Scooby-Doo has also always been a great example of different types of people getting along. Velma has always been the bookish nerdy girl, and Daphne the popular rich girl, Fred is usually the strong leader type, and Shaggy a laid back coward, and of course Scooby Doo is a talking dog. Usually, these types of people aren't portrayed as friends, but they've always been a group of friends who work together putting their skills together to solve mysteries, and they've always all been important. Dubs can be pretty great if given to the right people and with actual effort, but even then, most dubs are okay, but there are also terrible dubs that have been vandalized by localizers
@TheEuphoniumboy5 ай бұрын
As I've told my friends when we talk about this entire thing going on, art has always at it's core been political. Just subtle. There's always some political message in every artistic piece, like the statue of David, Poseidon, and Perseus. At it's core, it's political. But you don't need to notice the politics to enjoy it. On the surface, it's an amazing piece of work, then when you realize the messages it means more. For a lot of these people pushing the ideas on art now, it's as subtle as a brick to the face. If it's not directly forcing the issue in your face, it's not good. This backstabs them, as it shows an ugly side of what they're pushing. They want to use a magnet, but don't realize they're using the wrong side and that it's repelling people instead of attracting them. It's not art anymore, it's just the politics. It's not something to watch and enjoy, it's just something to be yelled at by someone who believes they know more than you. Which no one likes! Art used to be a deep ocean of meaning, but now these people who handle art are shallow enough I won't even notice if I stepped in a puddle of them in my socks.

More people need to be talking about this. It’s amazing when you look at comments and listen to discourse how many people seem to think that all art should be done by committee. There seems to be a cultural war against art as individual expression. There seems to be no respect for artistic intent any longer, and people feel they have the right to do whatever they want with another person’s vision whether it’s music, writing , or art. Lastly it’s insane to trash a money making franchise with a loyal fan base in order to pander to a demographic that doesn’t support the stuff they claim they want.

In the 2010 animated series 'Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated,' the writers, including Mitch Watson, confirmed that Fred was written with autism in mind. The girl speaks about representation but didn't keep this. Worse, she makes a laughingstock of his difficulties. When he tries to cut his meat, they're all like, 'Haha, he can't do anything on his own.' There's something called dyspraxia, which affects motor skills and is common among individuals with autism. People with dyspraxia can have difficulties tying shoelaces or using utensils... you know, like cutting meat with a knife and fork. Yeah, he may not be canonically autistic in her show, but it's a missed opportunity. Yeah, maybe it had absolutely no link with dyspraxia in that scene (since he wasn't using his cutlery the right way). But when I saw it, I was still shocked.

Interesting. I’m on the spectrum myself and am actually quite dexterous with my hands. I’m even an artist. Feels kind of funny hearing how different things can get when it’s still Autism.
@wisteria_whisper5 ай бұрын
@@dragonsword8129 Yup, dyspraxia is common but not systematic. Although given the nature of autism, the fact that coordinating movement or that the communication between the muscles and the brain is impacted is not surprising. I don't have dyspraxia myself, but I do have a friend who has it.

30:00 Small note on Mulan: The story is based on a pseudo-historical character (not 100% sure the character really existed), seemingly to teach a lesson about duty to your family. It's essentially China's version of Joan d'Arc... Except for one key difference (from what was explained to me): No one at the time actually found out Mulan was a woman... She disguised herself, gained some small renown in battle, then simply vanished. After the fact, it was discovered she was a woman, demonstrating her duty to her family to sacrifice safety to save her father.

actually wait i wanna come back in here and make a better comment than what i actually left originally so i'm an artist working on multiple projects and one of the things i noticed is that every project that is just my own passion project for a thing i enjoy doing/making is so much more fun and engaging for myself and for everyone i show them to rather than when i'm forcing myself to add things in just for brownie points. i used to have a friend group that heavily encouraged me to be The Wokest™️ i could possibly be and every slip up or anything i said that wasn't acceptable to them was essentially grounds for being completely kicked out of the group i'm out of that group now but still relearning how to love my art and myself again as a flawed person and a flawed artist, and i kind of came to the conclusion not long ago that a big reason why i'm unhappy with my projects is because i am doing exactly what those friends - and a lot of the companies you speak about in this video - do to every piece of art they have. everything must be perfected and Inclusive and if it isn't we have to force it. i got to a point where i was forcing it without even realizing i was doing it i'm finally getting to a point where i'm just writing what i want and it doesn't have to be everything, and it's been so surreal getting out of that echo chamber and realizing the fuckin cyclone we're all kind of tangled in right now. when you're so deep into the storm you don't see an out it feels like it is the only thing, the only way, and when you finally do find an out ur just kind of left picking up the pieces and this is just me as an individual artist, i can't imagine what it must feel like to be one of the artists working in a corporate industry and having to watch your work, your baby, the thing you loved to work on most, being completely and utterly torn apart by social wolves just trying to profit off of you by stripping it apart and leaving you with all of the backlash

I think the biggest issue for me when it comes to this entire debate is that they’re under the assumption (or at least they’re trying to present it this way to avoid criticism) that the reason they’re getting called out is because of their political opinions. you don’t get to play the “you’re just mad because you disagree with my politics” card. Cause I can guarantee the vast majority do not give a flying fuck about the political opinions that you hold. We’re mad because you’re inserting your politics into media that didn’t have them. You’re altering art for your own gratification or to get points with the people that agree with you. You’re censoring art while calling it activism, which is not only unethical, but actively hurts actual activism. If you are signed onto translate a piece of media, it is your responsibility to translate, that media accurately no matter how much it clashes with your own opinions. and if it is so much of an issue that you have to work with something that you don’t agree with then maybe you shouldn’t be In charge of translating media _FROM ANOTHER FUCKING COUNTRY_ Cause “shockingly enough” cultures from across the globe tend to be different..
