Ancient Aliens contacting a Bronze Age civilization (and all the ramifications that would have), is such a great concept that appears to only get tapped by Iron Tower Studios.

bronze age ? honestly i am not sure about that in aod we have iron, steel, bluee steel, sky metal, it seems to much of a jump to go from bronze to what is essentially super steel. btw i am pretty sure there is one old machine in aod that makes blue steel

I actually quit my last play through of Fallout 1 because at Mariposa the super mutants kept critting me for over 100 damage bypassing my power armour and killing me instantly. So innovative of Iron Tower to build a whole game around that one aspect of classic Fallout, truly a worthy successor.

I cant explain how good and unique these videos are. It's such a breath of fresh air for gaming videos.
@zakbrown925617 сағат бұрын
Yeah I love Warlockracy! I have watched so many gaming channels since the start of KZbin, when everyone was just being the AVGN most of the time and this guy is one of the most unique things on this platform. He makes these strange RPGs I grew up playing, would you agree it feels almost like an older brother/friends older brother taking you through the game making up a story? I also feel like he speaks in such a way that is very friendly and approachable but with a wicked sense of humor at times, plus he doesn't just dunk on other youtubers scandals like a lot of other creators do nowadays! Anyway sorry for the long comment I just absolutely buzz off these videos! hahaha
@jupiteralt17 сағат бұрын
@zakbrown9256 I feel that. It's so unique getting to see someone play the game. But it's like a story is being told along with it not just someone chatting about whatever. It's become my favorite story telling ever.

I got into Age of Decadence and then inflicted it upon other people because of you. PS, you need to do that Colony Ship. They finally finished it and it's just as much of a kick in the balls and kind of reminds me of Fallout's combat, but better. It's weird and more people need to see it.
@zakbrown925617 сағат бұрын
Underrail, Age of decadence, he got me back into fallout 2, easily my favorite creator, I hope he gets bigger but stays the same in terms of content. Hes one of the few creators I jump on the video straight away, leave a like and tune in for a well written little story that I feel part of because of the way he tells it.

Watching all your videos made me understand why I enjoy Iron Tower games so much, they’re about climbing out of the dirt and into a castle. Forging your own path to the top whether it be through blood or making powerful allies. Becoming more than a footnote in history. Many games make you a power house within the first Act, but Iron Tower games makes the climb to power, a slow and difficult experience. Whether it be ascending to godhood, escaping a prison colony or dooming an entire colony ship, the path to relevance in these games never come easy. And I love them for that.

Colony Ship has an _absurdly_ long demo, if anyone is curious about it. At first it seems like it’ll be just the first “town”, which is a decent amount of content, But then it just keeps going. There’s like a half dozen significant zones. I think it might be the entire third act. It’s pretty goddamn good, too.

"Combat in Iron Tower games tends to cause a strong polarizing reaction in people: You either love it, or hate it. If you look at the footage of the Age of Decadence, you can see that it *superficially* resembles a strategy game. There are turns; action points, a square grid. This is *all fake shit* - the truth is, there is almost no meaningful decision making. You execute the same plan over and over, until the dice rolls in your favour." - Warlockracy, May 29, 2023

The concept of extra powerful characters who can't be healed is really fascinating. The implication that you have a limit on how long they can be included in the party, so any related quests would need to be handled before they are too damaged is kind of interesting, especially on repeat playthroughs after using them too soon and not being able to see all of their story content. Do you accept the more challenging difficulty spikes in order to ensure that they'll live long enough to execute their own goals, or could a skilled player build a strategy that prevents them from being harmed for long enough that other companions can be found who fulfil the same role? Maybe there's a teaching element that can be imparted, so in one dungeon the encounters are set up to be susceptible to being isolated into one on one encounters in melee that your new guy can kill in a single strike, or another area is balanced around the protection of a character who has exceptional buffs and can heal status effects that otherwise can't be addressed without using expensive consumables at the intended level of progression. I feel like it might be a really interesting way to vary the tactics that you need to use but still allowing you to play with the characters you prefer in other slots. You have the option to see the developer's intended play style for the area, but by doing so you're not developing as many permanent characters as you would be if you were not taking the assistance, meaning that the more you rely on them, the more you need them in the long term and the more devastating it is when they die and you can't replace their skill set.
